when tsukki notes posts, my life is complete.
I hear the sunspot is my literal comfort read 😩😩 it’s literally so good!!
i thought it was okay! they need to have better communication TT but i'm still going to continue i'm too invested at this point
Comfort? I cried so much even after finishing the 5 volumes 😭
And what am I reading currently? A geography, physics, chemistry and eleven other very interesting books xD They are going to be my best friends for the next ten months hahah However, beside school I try to catch up on Tokyo Revengers ÷)
HELP haha good luck with school though you can do it ❤️❤️ hopefully you can find some free time to read more manga
I loved Skip & Loafer!! Can't wait for the next volume! Nice reads for the month! 😄
same i need it asap idk why but i liked it so much even from the first volume
aaaaa so glad u picked up skip and loafer! I'm behind a chapter or two for the scanlations and even on the later chapters, romance def takes a back seat. And I really dont mind bc it's still such a fun read with relatable main and side characters you'll all want to root for. 🥺 Hoping to get my hands on the english vols as well once it's available in my country. Always enjoy watching your monthly reading log~
oooo cool ya i don't mind if there's not much romance i love the characters a lot so far, excited for more volumes to come, hopefully you will be able to get the physicals soon :) and ty for watching
TBHK is great!! the characters develop really really well, its ongoing and i have a little to catch up haha but im glad youre enjoying it, what made me read it was the art too but i love the story
i’m excited to read more!! as soon as i can get my hands on volume 4 TT
@@tsukkinotes I got it,skipped vol 3
omg i picked up skip and loafer recently and i loved it too! i thought the characters were all so unique and likable, and i honestly laughed out loud multiple times. i'm excited for the next volume!
yes!! i found it really refreshing, i think the next volume comes out in november :)
i havent read inside mari but i have read flowers of evil and blood on the tracks....oshimi may not always have a lot of text but i really like slowing down with his works and watching how he uses shadows to reflect the mood of the characters in frame and he especially likes to use a lot of detail in the eyes when it matters
oh yes the art is gorgeous, inside mari definitely has re-read ability and i hope to soon, just to catch all the things i missed the first time around and reading it after knowing the twist at the end
the pacing and storyline of fma is amazing it definitely gets progressively better with each volume
i ordered more volumes! i have high hopes, like i said i like it so far but i’m not like blown away yet
Omg same! I never plan what to read. I just look at the shelf, and decide what I feel like reading lol. And I usually read at night after work, so I usually pick up something that helps me unwind so I can fall asleep afterwards😂 I was gonna order skip and loafer, but I wasn’t sure if I’d like it so I’m glad I saw that you read it, and now it’s going in my cart💜
same haha i save my more heavy or brain power needing series for the weekends after work i usually like more calming or fun series,, and yes i hope you like skip and loafer i loved the first volume so much
I really like these videos, im trying to collect foodwars but its a huge pain because the first volumes are like out of stock everywhere
thank you! and yes ah so many series out of stock right now, i believe food wars is on the shonen jump app if you wanted to read it there the service is $2 a month
@@tsukkinotes ah yes thanks for the tip, but I like to read manga like physical in the books itself rather than online
Inside Mari wasn't even on my radar before but your review made my interested. Only on ch 13 but so far, it's been enjoyable. Thanks for the recommendation.
hope you enjoy! i was pleasantly surprised with the series, super quick read and it got me thinking even though there were some uncomfortable topics discussed
Miscommunication is a serious deal breaker for me. One or two I can maybe understand, but consistent miscommunication for the sake of conflict is so annoying. My favorite read this month was I Had That Same Dream Again which I picked up before class thinking it would be a quick and easy read (it only has 12/13 chapters) but I ended up bawling my eyes out and now its one of my favorite manga series. So yeah if ya need a nice coming of age-ish story, highly recommend lol.
ya same, that's why it was a bit hard to get through i hear the sunspot, i wish the manga explored some of the more serious themes rather than the back and forth "romance" but i still enjoyed it for what it was,, and thank you for the recommendation!
I read a lot more manga this past month, well actually I read a lot more than usual overall. I read volumes 16-20 of the Promised Neverland because I finally wanted to finish the series and I really enjoyed the series even though I know the ending wasn't very popular among most readers. I also continued on with Vinland Saga, one of my favorite series of all time, and caught up with the most recent My Hero Academia volume release, which I am so invested in because of what's going on with the characters. Then I read the entirety of A Witch's Love at the End of the World in like a single afternoon because it's so short and I adored it. Finally I started Devils' Line which was not at all what I was expecting but I still enjoyed it. I also read like 7 novels during the month and idk how I read so much lol.
nice!! sounds like it was a great reading month for you :)
Just started the video and I gotta say I love Shuzo Oshimi's works
hopefully i can read more soon! i'm specifically interested in the flowers of evil
tbhk is really good, i have volumes 1-12 minus vol 7 sadly
hopefully it comes back in stock! thankfully i’ve been able to keep up with the volumes, loving the series so far
12:45 Oh it gets dark(Tbhk)
cool i don't mind 👁 curious to see some more "angst" in this art style since it looks so cute
@@tsukkinotes ok,but I was smiling when you said u finally read one of my favourite series and you liked it.I am sure you will like it in the coming chapters also.
Your voice is like asmr
thank you!! (i think lol)
Okay your type of romance is my type of romance manga!!! And I love that cause I feel like a bunch of them I just do not like especially in anime. The only romance anime that I like that has a lot of drama is candy candy and that’s because i like crying.
nice to see someone with the same taste haha one of the only drama filled romance i like is nana but it's kind of established from the beginning that it is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions so i wasn't like blindsided like with something like i hear the sunspot i was not prepared for all the annoying miscommunication etc
Such a a great reading log 💖!! I’ve had Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon for awhile and haven’t read it yet, but this makes me wanna pull it off the shelf PRONTO 🤩. I’ve heard so many good things about Skip and Loafer…I literally was gonna ignore it cuz I didn’t like the name 😭 I’m so petty RIP 💀. But I think I’m def gonna pick it up now. 52 volumes yaaasssss!!! 💖💚
i need to get more volumes of doughnuts ah i feel like i've finally found a yuri i like, and omg because of the name 😂 i promise it's good or maybe i shouldn't say that but i highly enjoyed it
I can't wait to start on TBHK now after hearing what you thought about it aaAaA-
hope you enjoy! i’m liking it a lot so far
Nice log, might pick up "i hear a sunspot" someday.
thank you! and like i said i would recommend if you like more of a drama-filled romance, they are in college though so it's not as bad for me to read then characters in high school
@@tsukkinotes i'm actually going to start university\college tomorrow so i think it will be a nice fresh experience
I think there are 2 other I Hear the Sunspot books, I just got my copies in so I haven't read any of it yet. One is just called I Hear the Sunspot and the other is called Theory of Happiness. I just looked it up online, it looks like they were made before the Limit books, so I don't know if it would help the ending of Limit.
oh yes i read those! i only showed limit in the video lol, the ending of limit does imply there will be a sequel which i believe is already ongoing in japan
Yay !! I am happy you checked out Inside Mari! Shuzo Oshimi is potentially my favorite mangaka ever. I definitely think Happiness, Blood on the Tracks, and The Flowers of Evil are the most digestible series by Oshimi that I would suggest but after that the rest of his work gets a little. . . weird. I have been enjoying Welcome Back Alice as well but it has gotten a bit of scrutiny for its depiction of a trans character. The rest of his stuff is just. . . horny for lack of a better descriptive word. hahaha hopefully you enjoy some of his other series if you check them out!! Fun reading log Tsukki!!
thanks for the insight! i know what you mean, i have a couple mangakas i like that have a couple ... questionable works that english publishers wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole but i am definitely interested in more of oshimi's works, especially the flowers of evil, i'm glad i took a chance on inside mari, it was a quick read and got me thinking about many things that i wasn't expecting to
@@tsukkinotes yes!! Surprisingly Welcome Back Alice & Devil’s Ecstasy (both his newest and one his older works) are both getting English publications by Kodansha next year. I am very surprised they decided to pick up Devil’s Ecstasy haha.
Got back into reading One Piece. Read up to volume 40 and the current arc I'm on is my favourite so far. The first couple of arcs were a slow read for me, but now the series is really picking up and I'm looking forward to reading more. I'm also interested to see if I'll be able to catch up with the series maybe till the end of this year?
glad to see you're continuing on your one piece journey! and you're almost halfway there to catch up right? i'm rooting for you 💪🏼
Dunno if you want to go down this route, but a couple of Nakamura's one shots were published in Tokyopop's releases of the Gothic Lolita Bibles. I think there's like 5 volumes in English.
oooo i've seen the cover artwork for one of the ones that she did but i didn't know there were one shots included, i thought it was like a fashion magazine haha ty for letting me know!
Oh it is, but it's kinda like how Newtype used to be. It'd have a chapter of a manga in the middle. It just so happens that the five Tokyopop did has work by Nakamura. I think you can find them online in pdf form of you wanna look at it :)
Asumiko Nakamaru is such a good writer but not being able to recommend her works like Classmates without feeling guilty breaks my heart. It's always "The main couple is so charming but.. there's also a teacher-student relationship" IT'S SO SAD 😭
I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL like seven seas is finally publishing more of the volumes but why did they put sora to hara as volume 4 😐 i’m not going to buy it bc i despise it but that whole side story should just not exist
hara x jail is the better ship
@@tsukkinotes ME TOO! I skipped so many chunks of the story after Sora to Hara just because I wanted to see the main characters 😭 the student themselves was an okay character, I just couldn't get behind the teacher like PLEASE WHY ARE YOU HERE
I’m really pleasantly surprised to see that you read one of Oshimi’s works!! I would love to know your thoughts on Flowers of Evil, I think you’ll enjoy it since you did enjoy Inside Mari!
ya i wasn't expecting to read one anytime soon haha it was just lucky that i saw inside mari on cr but yes i think the next one i'll read is flowers of evil! blood on the tracks might be too much for me
I think it’s funny how I say that I don’t like romance (which is mostly true) but the ones I do like end up being filled with drama and miscommunication like Given and I Hear the Sunspot. Which is weird since I don’t think I actually like the drama parts, but maybe it makes it more interesting to me? I’m not sure exactly.
When it comes to Oshimi’s works I collect them physically because I think they do have some reread value even after knowing the plot twists. I can definitely see myself rereading Inside Mari and Flowers of Evil in the future.
that's valid!! idk why i'm more attracted to a "vanilla" romance, maybe because i like drama to be reserved for different genres like psychological or action series ,, and ty for the insight! i agree with inside mari after the twist at the end i wanted to just reread the whole thing from the begining with a new perspective so maybe i will end up picking up some more of his works physically, thank you for the recommendation!
I am reading blue lock right now and was about to start Inside mari, but my exams started so... I am going slow :)
Also, I am happy so see someone's enjoying hanako kun, none of my friends read it xD
i want to start blue lock so bad, hopefully it gets physical copies soon, and i'm excited to read more of tbhk as soon as i can get volume 4 TT
OH SHIT LETS GO
eyyyyyyy
Great vid might get some volumes that u have read
thank you! and i'm glad if you were able to get some recommendations :)
i started collecting manga abit ago, i have 20!! but a problem i have is continuing a series even if i really want too. i always start a new one even if i see a volume 2+ of one i really wanna continue. ig its part of controlling my anxiety about there not being volume one later one. just wanted to ask for any tips on that or if its normal??
sorry if i'm not understanding the situation but are you saying you don't like to continue series in fear of not being able to find the next volume right away? i've found the best solution for that kind of thing is to let volumes stack up like wait until you're like 5 volumes behind if you don't want to catch up? sorry if this is not what you were looking for
i think the best solution for you are buying the manga that has ended like demon slayer, haikyuu, my hero academia, waiting for spring, etc. It is more relaxing to know that manga you are collecting has ended and you can take time to complete it☺️
I know you say you're not really into fantasy series, so you were surprised to find you enjoyed TBHK as much as you did (which seeing that you did enjoy it irrespective of it being a fantasy, just means you have great taste lol).
But, another series you might enjoy even though it's considered fantasy, is To Your Eternity, since it isn't the stereotypical fantasy one usually finds in manga. Have you ever thought about giving it go? Ive only read up to volume 12 but it is a series I highly enjoy and would recommend, for people whether or not they are into fantasy.
i've been interested in to your eternity! since it's by the same mangaka as a silent voice it has always caught my interest, if you think i would like it maybe i will give it a go, i think it is on the crunchyroll app actually
I was wondering about “i hear the sunspot” just cause the pretty covers but I don’t think I will like it- thank you for ur honest review 😙😙
no problem! ya like i said it was pretty frustrating to read at times, even from the first volume at the end the author said they didn't intend for this to be a romance manga and it kind of shows, i think this would have been better as them being friends and more of an exploration into other themes
You didn't say "it" 😭😭. Im waiting tsuki
Great video though
the beginning of this was filmed in august TT my next haul!!
@@tsukkinotes imma wait 👀😂
what app do you use to read on your ipad?
in this video was the crunchyroll manga app which is included if you have a crunchyroll subscription! i also use the shounen jump app which is $2 a month for basically their whole catalogue
@@tsukkinotes omg i have crunchyroll and never knew they had a manga section 😭😭 tysm 💖
If I’m not mistaken Japan’s consent age is 13, so the couple between an adult and a teenager might of seemed odd to you but that’s because of cultural differences. I’m not saying that is morally correct, which I also don’t agree with it at all, but that age difference in Japan would be a culture shock for those outside of that culture. So in mangas you’ll come across those type of relationships because that age difference is normal.
i'm aware that my perspective is very "western" but just personally i'm not comfortable with age gaps where one of the parties is an adult and one is a child, not bashing anyone who likes it in their manga but i figure it's best to at least warn people, i don't want any series i talk about to accidentally trigger someone
@@tsukkinotes I agree w/ you. When I read or actually watch ( I rather watch anime) and see relationships between students and teachers I’m thrown off by it, but I do understand the culture difference between me and Japan.
Stop talking SO FAST I’m slow please understand some people are like me 😭😭😭
you can adjust the speed to .5 or .75 😅
I love hearing your opinions and thoughts on manga, I can’t wait to see your reaction to TBHK as you read more! I also have not been able to find volume 4… 🥲
glad you enjoyed! and yes ahhh hopefully a reprint is coming soon
