Hi my name is Mark and I have helped thousands of people learn how to keep and breed shrimp over the years, I help aquarists go from killing shrimp to tanks busting full of shrimplets. 🦐✨
Disclosure: Marks Shrimp Tanks is an affiliate of Aquaristik Shop and Send Owl, the book publisher. Mark earns a small commission fee for each sale, and all of the money goes back into shrimp keeping. Just don't tell his wife.

I've had a baby explosion once again, three berried in the span of a day each fully berried too, i think it's because I put frozen shrimp chunks (cooked) back into the solid food rotation. They sure do like eating flesh, it's nice to see almost the entire population clinging to it, and they. I haven't really put in powdered food recently either since the biofilm is flourishing now that there's a bit more ambient light. I put a solid food in every 3 days with a rotation between a shrimp pellet and an algae wafer

I also explored your website (a great resource of information, by the way!) because I watched several of your shrimp food recipes and was hoping to find those recipes on your website. I did not. So, can you please provide those recipes on your website under the "Shrimp Food" section, perhaps? I've seen your videos on the Duck Weed recipe, the Spinach/Peas/shrimp/salmon recipe, powdered flake food for algae/biofilm, etc... Maybe also mention in your decorations/substrate sections about the cinnamon bark, when to use zeolite, alder cone, etc... Takk skal du ha!

Great video! I was literally worried about this yesterday and wondered if i was overfeeding. My ghost shrimp are still totally active and eat almost all their food within 3-4 hours. I feed shrimp pellets crushed with fish flakes. Then some intact pellets for the larger mum shrimp. However they don't eat all of the shrimp pellets. Like literally in each pellet there is like %10 of it they leave behind. I wonder if there is some ingredient in the pellet they don't like and eat around it? They are very picky however and don't eat any veggies I put in, many different kinds, blanched or not, they have no interest, even after 2 days so I remove it. But I only have artificial plants in my tank. I get some algae and diatom blooms and they do graze on that. Are my guys spoiled? Or do ghost shrimp just like a higher protein diet? They are all very active and are breeding. But the last batch only one survived to adulthood so I put the babies that were born this week in a breeder net box to try and help keep them from possibly being eaten?

As always, interesting stuff. I feed small ammounts of powder every day. Bacter AE mixed with my own made powder which is primarily powdered nettle with fish food and algae wafers, all milled. Tiny ammounts into a small container, shaken up then added to the water to disperse. They never show great interest in solid food and are breeding well and active. I have CRS, blue neos and amanos. Currently they devour blanched fresh nettles.

Powder Supplements (quite different from powder food) in small quantities, keep the soil rich, adds BioFilm, sometimes calcium and other times enzymes. For babies proteins rich powder...
