I can't tell you which one is faster because they are really that close.

I plan to zip tie my gps to the handle bars and get out on the highway in a couple of days and compare the gps MPH to the analog needle just to see how far off it is. It wont handle as well or have the top end revs and power, but down low, youd leave the FZ behind, until the FZ powerband hit. I love my 03 VTX1800C, fun to go full throttle from slow speeds, lol. I just got an 01 Concours 1000, so much lighter but not as much low speed fun.

What is wrong with dragging the floor boards. When you ware down the drag guide just put a new one on. the Suzuki C50 T was great for that, Get on the twisty roads and let them drag. It increases how fast you can do them really twisty roads.

Just bought a '02 sight unseen. Beast of an engine. Pure Honda. Starts easy every time. Just like the Cub 50 i got to ride in '64 as 12yr old except 20 times the horsepower and 30 times the torque.
I just bought my first bike which is a 1300C, and while I feel like it's enough bike, I've taken selfies with it, and I think I'm technically too big for it. So, I've been wondering about my next big cruiser. Maybe an 1800F...

I love the bike I plan on years of trouble free riding
Driveable. I'm fairly certain it's not quite as nimble as a Rebel, but I have no issue floating on mine if I need to. But who wants to ride this thing slowly?
While shopping for a used Muscle Cruiser, I narrowed my choices down to the VTX 1800, The Yamaha Warrior 1700, and the Suzuki M109. After riding a few of all three, I bought a 2006 Warrior and LOVE IT. If you are looking at this bike, keep your options open and go ride a Warrior!
I've owned my 2005 Warrior for about 5 years now and I love it. It's my daily commuter and weekend drag racer (at the strip, never on the street!). I just came across a 2007 VTX1800 with less than 5500 miles for less than $3000. For once, I actually had the finances to cash in on a good deal so I bought it. I had no intention of buying another motorcycle so my original plan was to flip it. But after riding it for a bit, I decided to keep it. While both are cruiser bikes they are very different. The VTX has a larger motor (1795 vs 1670), higher compression (9:1 vs 8.3:1) and produces more HP and torque (107 HP, 120 ft-lb vs 84 HP, 99.5 ft-lb). The VTX has a larger fuel capacity (5.3 gal vs 4 gal)* and weighs more (804 lbs wet vs 658 lbs wet). Shaft drive and water cooled vs the Warrior's belt drive and air cooled. Both have 5 speed transmissions and are fuel injected. I've only ridden the VTX a few times so far but here's what I've noted. It's more comfortable but doesn't corner as well. That's not to say the VTX handles bad, not at all. The Warrior has been lowered and even then it takes a lot more to scrape pavement than the VTX. So it's just something I have to adjust to. And I can definitely tell the 150 lb weight difference in the parking lot and slow turns. But even with the weight difference I can tell the VTX is faster. I plan on taking it to the strip next season and see just how much faster. And while the VTX is a great looking bike, IMO the Warrior looks more bad assed. It'll be nice next summer to be able to choose between the bikes, depending on my riding mood. *I found out the hard way that the VTX low fuel indicator doesn't work (apparently it's a common problem). The first time I found out was at the end of my shift. I had to push that heavy-assed bike across our huge dirt parking lot, across a busy four lane and up a slight hill to get to the gas station. I've since then ran out of gas two more times (I know, I know, I'm a dumbass :-P ). New bike, give me a break.
@@randylarocque1694 Thanks Randy. But perhaps I didn't specify the problem adequately. The low fuel light on the VTX flat out doesn't light up when it's low on fuel. And being as it's a new-to-me bike, I have no idea many miles I can ride before it's empty. But I'm going to find out, believe me! I don't want to be pushing that 800 lb bike again!
@@dfhowes My worst similar case scenario was i had a dead battery and jumped the bike. Figured I'd ride it to the station and it will recharge and ill get some gas. Had to stop the bike to use the key to open the tank, filled up nice and heavy and then went to start i and it was dead lol. Pushing a bike upto jogging speed then jumping on it to kick start it was no fun. Several times too. I almost sh$t my pants with the effort.
$4400? :D My god I wish I lived in the US. They sell for ~10-13k € in Finland, thanks to the monster taxes. And on top of that there's like 4-6 months in the year when you can actually drive a bike...
Would it be totally crazy to get a VTX 1800 as my first bike? I'm not into tricks and games but I do appreciate power, I love these bikes (power- and price wise), also I'm 6' 4" so I think it would suit me just fine. Perhaps with somewhat higher learning curve
+Sean Kerr In my youth (14-18), yes. Nothing since. Okay I'll consider the 1300 then, I have to understand that the "bigger is always better" approach does not always apply to everything :) Thanks for your advice and awesome videos!
incase your still looking the vtx 1300 is a great bike for bigger people to start off in my opinion since im 6'2 around 300 but its not baby fat either. theres a few big differences 1st is the 1300 is a single pin motor instead of dual like the 1800 which most people will say sounds better and not so much like a lawn mower, 2nd is that its carbed so its a bit more forgiving as well starting out. its got plenty of power to get you going and keep a smile on your face. i wouldnt be afraid to take it on a long trip either. something id look into tho after getting one is a more comfortable seat
I have a question. I've never drove a bike before so I was thinking starting off with a Honda Shadow 750 and later move on to a bigger bike like... well exactly this one. However, i'm 235 at 5'8'' and was wondering if the 750 would be enough?
i started on a shadow 750, second bike being the shadow 750 ace. perfect for city riding IMO. only time i wish i had a bigger one is when rockets are in the group.
Hey, I have a question... in you're opinion, what would you buy, a vtx1800 or triumph thunderbird Lt. I'm trying to sell my old 1200 sporty and want to move into the cruiser category, I'm 6'2", you seem like a tall guy, yet speak fondly of both. Thanks for all your videos, I like the zero to sixty test. I like the ones where you edit the timer in corner of the screen... just my 2 cents. Thanks again.
A honda shadow 750 man. Thats what i started out with and im a fat 6' 3" dude I used for a little under a year and It worked perfectly man. After that i moved up to a 1300, now I'm looking to get myself this 1800 for my birthday. I want some power lmao
My 1800 never fails to astonish me with the power. The 1300 sounds way better tho. Single pin crank is why. Surprisingly the 1800 is only 50 lbs heavier than the 1300.
These bikes are nearly identical in the top end. This is all torque baby. V-twins are all torque. From small to big, they go from a little to a lot of torque.
Nice channel and reviews Sir. In other videos you did say that well Maintained it would outlive it owners 🙂 so I would like to know is there any HD model of similar type that would be as reliable as vtx1800 and I am not about brand new ones? Also so Good lookong. I though of HD heritage 2005 before vtx 1800 but sound like Honda is cheaper to maintaine.
Hi. I have a request. I like your video's, especially the ones about vtx1800. I would love to listen to an ASMR recording of a crusing without talk and windy noise, and listen to when I can't sleep. About 15 minutes long would be perfect. Is that something you can do?
I have had this same bike "02" model for 12 years I love it! But please tell me you know what hiway pegs you got on that thing!! I don't have a crash bar on mine just like the one your riding and I have pretty much given up trying to find a set! Another person sent me to kuryakon but all I found on there was the flip outs they only give an extra a couple inches. I'm 6' 4" please message a link!! Thank you!!!
For beginners is this ok? I want this bike, but if i can't learn on a VTX 1800 I'll get the aero shadow and bump up some day. I'm a skinny bike road cyclist so I know how to balance n stuff, but I don't drive motorcycles at all and want to start so I can bike on the highway and not get tired.
Srkcycles Thanks for the reply! I went to look at one today but it was listed at 4,700 I was hoping for a straight $4000 out the door hopefully they come down. Love your videos keep them coming!
Big twin rotors in the front w/ 3 piston calipers combined w/ linked rear braking (rear break operates center piston on front calipers) make this 750lb. bike stop very fast. Not to mention it has a lot of rubber on the road w/ a 130mm front tire & a 180mm rear. By comparison, the VTX 1300 only has a single front rotor so the biker bike stops better than the smaller bike.
well i started looking at what you said... it has a sissy bar, floor boards, and a batwing. if i buy all that stuff new it will end up costing me 800 bucks or so.. i guess 4k even doesnt sound too bad. it all depends on if that bike is still there in 30 days when i get my commission check :)
not knowing where you live, but i found one exactly like this one except grey for 3,800 and it only has 15,000 miles on it. so in my personal opinion i think you'd be paying to much.
aftermarket pipes in this bike would still never sound as good as the 1300cc Honda (dual pin crank vs single pin crank) Those ugly billboard mirror would have to go!

+Srkcycles I love your videos. You make me want to buy from you. I'm hoping you'll have one of these on hand in the fall when I go shopping. I'm excited to make the trip down to you from Muncy, PA.
Wait: you're wearing Crocs?
my must Have NEXT BIKE !!!! great review video
I have an 03 VTX1800 R it is my 2nd bike my first bike was a Vulcan nomad 1500 ( yea I started on big bikes lol) but I love the VTX the power and acceleration I picked mine up for 2800 guy wanted 3500 for it but he didn't know what he had honestly the rarity of these bikes alone makes them really worth something and the 1300 guys always get anxious when they see one lol
yup. got mine for 2500 .11k bikes not perfect but getting it straitened out brakes are the issues can go insanely fast but stopping yaaaaaa
i have a 2008 and i love it ride safe
I'm in Australia and hold my breath every-time you guys turn into an intersection. I cant get used to the opposite side of the road
Got me the 2006 1800 Neo. I've owned many bikes but nothing as smooth and powerful. Small tank but I plan my trips accordingly. V&H shotguns and power commander III. My friends with Harley's all laugh till we're sitting at a red light in 98° weather...
just bought an 02 with 11,ooo have a Harley 88 scares the hell outa me this thing is UNBELIEVABLE!
I have an 07 VTX 1800 F model.. the bike is a beast. Love it
6:15 HOLY SHIT IT PULLS
Now on my 3rd vtx1800, shall keep this one love folding the pegs up on corners, lol
What is wrong with dragging the floor boards. When you ware down the drag guide just put a new one on. the Suzuki C50 T was great for that, Get on the twisty roads and let them drag. It increases how fast you can do them really twisty roads.
This is my dream bike. Eff a Harley this thing is gorgeous and much more reliable and cheaper. I will own one soon.
I love my 2002 VTX 1800C, had it since 2002! its funny i am watching you ride and i was thinking, those look like PA roads..... lol and they are! im in Montco... I have to come out and check out your shop. would be a nice ride for me.
Beautiful country roads. I wish we had them out here.
I love my 2003 vtx 1800c, has 45,000 miles and will never part with it. Oh, I weigh 145 to 150 lbs. Top speed on speedometer is 150, I've had mine at 160 to 170 easy.
You really eclipsed the speedo?
Be careful
Recently sold my guzzi to pay some bills but ive been eyeballing these 1800s. Hoping to have one by next week🤞
I already know what the most logical response to this, but I'm just getting into motorcycles and i want to get this as my beginner bike.
John Smith go for it. I basically learned to ride on a cbr1000. If you want to learn to push the limits start smaller it will be more fun if you’re comfortable
Just bought a '02 sight unseen. Beast of an engine. Pure Honda. Starts easy every time. Just like the Cub 50 i got to ride in '64 as 12yr old except 20 times the horsepower and 30 times the torque.
Best bike I have owned. Let a friend ride it and he wrecked it. Don't let friend's ride my bikes anymore.
I just bought my first bike which is a 1300C, and while I feel like it's enough bike, I've taken selfies with it, and I think I'm technically too big for it. So, I've been wondering about my next big cruiser. Maybe an 1800F...
and my 1800 has a hypercharger and a power commander! its crazy
I just found one with 17,XXX miles for just under $5,000...should I buy it???
Yeah sure why not
Yup. Buy it.
Getting one tomorrow. 2003 vtx 1800 with 13k miles for 3200!
@@kokobeatz7222 You're gonna love that monster machine. 😁
I got mine June 1st 2019 its a 2002 vtx 1800 S had 48,000 miles on it no trouble so far it's great looks almost new was very well taken care of a one owner bike was garaged never been laid down he was asking 3 grand for it I offered 2 gs he took it . I love the bike I plan on years of trouble free riding
This or the yamaha xv1700 warrior?
This bike is now in st Lucia! And it’s a beauty. I’m going to buy it
I have the exact same bike 2002 Vtx 1800cc C, i love it.
1300 is a big, powerful motorcycle. Why do you "need" more power, Sean?
It's smooth and nimble at 45 mph...but how is it at drive way speed?
Driveable. I'm fairly certain it's not quite as nimble as a Rebel, but I have no issue floating on mine if I need to. But who wants to ride this thing slowly?
well the autobahn would like what the hell was that it HAULS
Vtx1800c 2003 .полёт нормальный. Особенно на 98 бензине.
@@dfhowes dude use your odometer for your fuel range I never trust the warning light
That VTX will rip on that 110 bye-bye gone
got to have that bike. 1800
$4400? :D My god I wish I lived in the US. They sell for ~10-13k € in Finland, thanks to the monster taxes. And on top of that there's like 4-6 months in the year when you can actually drive a bike...
Love the VTX 1800.. Awesome
I got a 06 1800. Sick bike. What kind of mic/cam setup do you have? Your voice is super clear
When you said the honda felt easier to shift, I felt that in my soul.
+Sean Kerr You're absolutely right, thanks again for the advice
incase your still looking the vtx 1300 is a great bike for bigger people to start off in my opinion since im 6'2 around 300 but its not baby fat either. theres a few big differences 1st is the 1300 is a single pin motor instead of dual like the 1800 which most people will say sounds better and not so much like a lawn mower, 2nd is that its carbed so its a bit more forgiving as well starting out. its got plenty of power to get you going and keep a smile on your face. i wouldnt be afraid to take it on a long trip either. something id look into tho after getting one is a more comfortable seat
Thanks again.
fuel injected?
Yep!
oh hell yes
been considering a change from my 09 fz1. how do you think this would compare as an alternative?
I have an 02 FZ1 and it's sporty fast but my 06 VTX rides like a caddy.
@@jamesblevins7115 but what if you could only have one?
Your other vid brought me here. Now I'm a beginner. What would you recommend for a starting tall guy.
A honda shadow 750 man. Thats what i started out with and im a fat 6' 3" dude
I used for a little under a year and It worked perfectly man. After that i moved up to a 1300, now I'm looking to get myself this 1800 for my birthday. I want some power lmao
Vulcan 900
What would you prefer this vtx 1800 or kawasaki meanstreak 1500 ????
The 1300 is plenty enough power, the 1300 is fast as hell, couldn’t even imagine how the 1800 is
My 1800 never fails to astonish me with the power.
What an insane machine....But I like it!!😎
Hi. I have a request. I like your video's, especially the ones about vtx1800. I would love to listen to an ASMR recording of a crusing without talk and windy noise, and listen to when I can't sleep. About 15 minutes long would be perfect. Is that something you can do?
Wtf..
What route is this? Looks nice!
Been loving mine for 3 years. 2003 25K. Really hoping to get a newer one next year. Maybe an 07-08? Or did they make them in 08?
Definitely made them in 08, just bought one myself!
I'm 5 8 and 140lbs. Is this a hard bike to keep up when stopped? Need an opinion
Played this video on my were loud stereo WOW
I would like to buy a VTX 1800 C
For beginners is this ok? I want this bike, but if i can't learn on a VTX 1800 I'll get the aero shadow and bump up some day. I'm a skinny bike road cyclist so I know how to balance n stuff, but I don't drive motorcycles at all and want to start so I can bike on the highway and not get tired.
Absolutely NOT, The VTX 1800 is NOT a beginners bike by any stretch of the imagination. Get yourself a honda vlx 600 for a beginner bike.
Parabens sua moto e linda e super motoca 😍😍
No words of wisdom on this test ride???
1800c, cast aluminum wheels
How do you not know it's shaft driven?
im about to buy one for 4k. what a dream price
I don't see going from a Vulcan 900 to this as being an issue do you?
its a rocket literally
Do 2 and 1 pipes gives more power than dual exhaust?
I’ve heard they do, don’t know about them to much other than that.
How's that compare to the Triumph 1700 for power?
put my fat girl on the back headed up the hill was like she wasn't there torque from hell
How is this bike compared to the S83? I'm looking to upgrade any suggestions?
+ACE YEN better in every way. Bigger badder faster and not old
Srkcycles Thanks for the reply! I went to look at one today but it was listed at 4,700 I was hoping for a straight $4000 out the door hopefully they come down. Love your videos keep them coming!
No gloves and crocs 😢
Come on man , you know better.
Anyway
I love your videos
my dad has the cobra USA red rider custom and the bast is a vtx18000c
Does anyone know what highway pegs these are?
I'd want one for touring
How is the braking.
How do I buy this 18 00 from you guys
i am trying to buy one of these right now for abotu 4k with 40k miles on it.. full faring on the front too... good deal?
i think you can do better than that.
??????
i think you can get one for a cheaper price than that, unless you just love the fairing that he put on it
well i started looking at what you said... it has a sissy bar, floor boards, and a batwing. if i buy all that stuff new it will end up costing me 800 bucks or so.. i guess 4k even doesnt sound too bad. it all depends on if that bike is still there in 30 days when i get my commission check :)
not knowing where you live, but i found one exactly like this one except grey for 3,800 and it only has 15,000 miles on it. so in my personal opinion i think you'd be paying to much.
aftermarket pipes in this bike would still never sound as good as the 1300cc Honda (dual pin crank vs single pin crank) Those ugly billboard mirror would have to go!
Yup. My 1800 sounds like a giant sewing machine. But at full throttle it roars like Godzilla. It's a great bike. 😉
