My first shiny was a Dwebble. I was at my friend Victoria's house, and we were playing pokemon in her bedroom. I was trying to get a sail fossil (which i still don't have) and I was finding a lot of Dwebble, so I made a joke and said "I bet the next dwebble I find will be shiny!" The level of frustration and rage the Pokeradar brings is almost undescribable... when the chain you've worked so hard and invested so much time breaks for no apparent reason, it feels like the inside of your head has become empty, and your bosom set ablaze. But when you finally achieve that 40th chain, sees a shining bush and successfully capture your desired shiny... the joy and euphoria it brings is so great that one does not simply forget. I found a shiny Skiddo on my first day of playing by random on route 5. Although I think finding a shiny Kalos Pokémon that early in the game kind of screwed with my brain, because now whenever I see a regular Skiddo, I think it looks really weird and that it's shiny form looks normal. Oh well. At least I've finally caught my first shiny.
I remember my first shiny was a Poliwhirl, it was my first time playing Pokémon but I fortunately already understood the concept of a shiny and I got so excited. I had been searching for a Dratini or Dragonair and instead this shiny guy pops up and I freak out and manage to catch it, I was so happy. I remember as if it were just yesterday~ I was ten and i had beat Clair in Soul Silver, and heading south instead of flying back to New Bark, and i decided to go through Dark Cave, it was near the Entrance by route 31, i had a wild encounter, i called it being a geodude, but, i didnt expect it to be a shiny! I freaked out and spilled my drink at the restaurant i was at... Was it worth the Freakout? YUS! ALL THE YUS!
Some of the mega evolutions look even more badass when they're shiny. My favorites being Shiny Mega Gengar (it's pure white) and Shiny Mega Gardevoir (it keeps the blue hair but gets a black dress).
In my entire life I've only got a shiny Budew by random in Platinum. Now im trying all these methods. Masuda-ed 8 boxes then stopped. Chain fished and couldn't get very many. Pokeradar to chain 36, and broke the chain. I feel im drowning in a lake of rage, except if I was I would have found shiny gyrados.
I must be lucky. I'm fairly new to the whole Pokemon phenomena. My sister got me a 3DS (I think that's what it's called) and Pokemon X for my birthday. I'm grateful for anything I get and I decided it be rude not to play it, so I started and it is really fun. I'm really enjoying it. But I've been hearing left and right how rare it is to get these shiny Pokemon. I've only gone hunting for them once, using the chain-fishing method. On my tenth reel-in, I got a shiny Gyarados. I hatched a shiny Charmander, Finneon, Vulpix, and Togepi by accident; I'd never even heard of the Masuda Method. I got all four hatching the first egg. In the wild, I stumbled on a shiny Furret, Magneton, Houndour, Gengar, Eevee, Lapras, and Dunsparce. I traded the shiny Lapras and Dunsparce for a shiny Palkia and Ho-oh. I also evolved a few of them, including the Eevee, which I evolved into a shiny Sylveon. And just before coming to this video, I caught a shiny Ralts, which I can't wait to evolve! So I guess I'm doing really well. :D
Can you get a shiny stater at the beginning of the game? And you know how there's sprites of each starter when you're choosing, will the sprite look different, to indicate that it's shiny? I really want a shiny Litten lol
GalaxyUnicorn You have to wait until you throw it into battle with Hau to see if it is shiny. Also you can Masuda method for a shiny... I got a shiny litten that way
I got a Japanese Snorlax off of my first Wonder Trade, so I'm attempting a Shiny Munchlax Masuda. Also, I have a friend who's trying to do chain fishing; I should tell her about the Suction Cups trick.
Reporting back after having to fish a few Dragonairs. I fished around 50 straight without breaking the chain (I used a Sticky Hold Accelgor that was holding a Smoke Ball) I found the Dragonairs I needed but no shinies. Later, I was capturing a few Girafarigs to trade for other Friend Safari pokemon and I randomly found a shiny Sigilyph, which is actually the first time I ever found a shiny (and I have been playing since Gen 1). As I expected, the only method that works for me is just randomly getting one.
I had a shiny Golem in SS and a shiny Staraptor in X that i find by luck in the grass =D And some competitive ones that I made using the Masuda method in W2 haha

This happened to me with my first Pokemon game Pokemon pearl, i was just training for elite 4 and a pink Rhydon came up and i had 3 Pokeballs left, great ball, Pokeball and a heal ball.... It came down to my last ball and i now have a Rhydon in a pink heal ball xD it looked ok at the time, but now when i throw out a heal ball most people are shocked to see a bad ass gold Rhypherior come out of it xD

I found out something when using the poke radar in route 10. I was chaining Eevee for a shiny, at the same time I needed Eevee for the 8 Eevee evolutions, I accidentally captured an Eevee while chaining. Apparently, it didn't break my chain! So I found out while using the poke radar, catching Pokemon will NOT break your chain. Btw, yes I got a shiny Eevee :D Go do it yourself and reply if you think this is a load of bull. I'm telling you, it's not.

I found like 5 shiny Dragalge's before I finally found my shiny Qwilfish lol Anyway there's also the "Friend Safari" method where you just hunt for shinies in Friend Safari since the chances of getting shinies have increased in there (already found 3 there, and 2 of those I found today).

The abbreviation does not mean it's from a different region, it means it's from another localization, IE. Somebody like me in Sweden will have the English localization, like most people and thus the abbreviation won't appear if I get a pokemon from somebody in the UK, US or Finland or whatever. So it's not 100%. Good video nonetheless, you should do one on end game after the elite four.
On the plus side I actually manage to run into a shiny wild pokemon out of complete luck and I caught it. The down side of all the pokemon to be shiny.......It had to be fucking garbodor.

Also theirs another way to get shiny pokemon. Use honey in the grass or just use a pokemon with the move sweet sent. Then it'll attract five pokemon and there would be a 51% chance getting a wild shiny. Please like if this helped you!

I got myself a shiny Vulpix with Drought on my third Masuda egg. Shiny Ninetales looks amazing. I do wonder about something, though. I remember that one of Ninetales's Pokedex entries states that their fur turns silver as they age. Does that mean that every Ninetales eventually becomes shiny according to the fluff?
Tolga Eskici At the moment, your best bet is the Masuda method. Forign Vulpixes are surprisingly common on Wonder Trade. It will usually take quite a while, since even with the Masuda method it's still a 1 in 1024 chance or so.
Over 300 chain of fishing, no shiny. Spent about 8 hours on and off in Friend Safari, no shiny. Filled boxes completely with Masuda Method, no shiny. Starting to feel that my game has an inability to find shinies.
Poke radar chaining is IMPOSSIBLE for me. I couldn't even chain 3 Pokemon. The chain fishing method however worked very well, I got my first shiny on the 27th catch. The next day I tried it again, reeling in a total of 159 Pokemon in a row, but no shiny. I lost concentration after that though and haven't tried again since....
Ikr the I fail at poke radar chaining. I can some times get a lot but then other times (most of the time) I get one and then... *bam* a different pokemon appears
The masuda method works really well i hadnt wanted to try it cause i didnt want all those pokemon clogging up my box. However, my shiny charmander was totally worth it!
I'm a bit late but just tried the fishing method and caught a Shiny dragalge! Thanks a bunch, pokeradar was getting me nowhere and breeding kinda hits your morale after 5 boxes of regular hatches. Lol. Good to see a bit of progress paying off.
On x and y the only one I've gotten via a method is a shiny roselia using the Masuda method. I've randomly seen and unfortunately killed a shiny woobat in the game though.
I have had only 2 shinys in my days Masuda-ing and Chaining, yet both were not due to them. One was an Audino that I found looking for a Venipede on route 7 in X. The other (also in X) was an Agislash that I got through Wonder Trade. Oh, and back to the Audino story, I did actually find a Vinipede!
Am i the only person whos not interested in a pokemon with mediocre stats despite them being shiny? i might pick up my favorites, sure, but to collect them seems a complete waste of valuable time training

Every Pokemon's special in one way or another. Some may not be used in battle, but they are still awesomely special.

That's why I'm moving around the higher-level areas and going to use my master ball on whatever I find. I've not ran into a shiny since the original Gold and Silver (though have picked up a few through the GTS...even if their legitimacy is questionable), and have put 100+ hours in gen 4-6, But when I do I'll get one that, maybe it's not a powerhouse on my team, but I could find a way to work it in for casual battles against friends.

when I look for shiny Pokemon, it takes forever.....but when I'm trying to avoid wild Pokemon, I stumble upon those shinies. It was a shiny Magby from an egg. I kept next to all of my Pokemon since present gen.....cannot wait till Poke Bank and Poke Transfer release! SO EXCITED!!!

If they got stat boosts, it would be overpowered, and everyone would use Shinies, which would get more annoying than the shiny level 1 legendaries that every hacker seems to have. Shinies are meant to be an example that not all Pokemon of one species look alike, and, that like real life animals, they come in rarer and more common varieties.

Nope. That, too, would make them overpowered. Especially the Evasiveness part. People like rare things, and pretty things. In a lot of cases, Shiny pokemon have GORGEOUS color scheme, and just the idea of having something that most people who don't have it in don't have. This makes them very, very appreciated by everyone. As long as it's not Shiny Garchomp. Who is literally fucking ONE SHADE DARKER than normal Garchomp.
Bloodiasfire completely agree bro I love the idea of shiny pokemon and I personally don't care if they are normal stat wise that is what IV breeding is for. I mean shiny pokemon could have worse stats then normal pokes and I would still go after them :P
In gen 2, Shiny Pokemon HAD to have decent IVs, but they couldn't have perfect ones either, so some people are actually under the impression that Shinies are better than non-shinies. :p But yeah. My dear shinies whom I worked so hard for, while not amazingly powerful in terms of IVs, are still the members of my team I feel most attached to, given how hard it was to get them. What Infinity Master doesn't understand, here, is that Pokemon isn't only about the competitive and the battles.

Okay, to do chain fishing, your going to REALLY want a pokemon with suction cups, While it is not technically required, it makes it so you allways get a bite. Then you litterally just need to equip whatever rod you want for which pokemon your looking for, and fish without moving at all. You can have other pokemon bite on the rod and it won't matter, the only things that will break your chain are, You moving from your spot. You catching a pokemon. you missing the catch or not getting a bite, Or you seeing a shiny. All you need to do is stay still and just get every single bite as it comes, For me it only took about a half hour to get one. Feel free to ask any more questions, i'd be happy to help!

Well, It should work, you still need to master catching the pokemon at just the right time, try doing it by the sound rather than the visual. Also is your lileep the first in your party? it can even be dead if it's underleveled so you can still run away from pokemon.
I remember just starting out Pokémon Omega ruby, and I had all male accounts in all past Pokémon games, but I decided to change into a female character this time, so I start playing normally, then this trade Icon popped up, a guy was trading me, so I said, “sure why not”, then when i traded him, THAT GUY HAD MOST OF HIS POKEMON SHINY, he gave me a shiny mew for a zigzagoon, then I caught like 8 of them then traded him again, guess what, He gave me a shiny Charmander, and a whole more, then he sent me a voice call, “I remember us voice chatting in the trade”, he says: “Hello Marie.” Then I reply with my deep ass voice, “Hi!” My guy left the trade And I got a Communication error thing pop up, that was the most hilarious moment in my whole gaming life.

interesting (and sadly true) story of my first ACCIDENTAL shiny encounter when i was 10. i was playing pokemon platinum and was in a cave. i found a graveller that was "a different color" i told myself. so i just KILLED IT AND MOVED ON. oh god did i get roasted the next day at school.

Lol I remember when I finished the game I started filling the pokedex. So I went into the first forest and found a pikachu. I remember thinking “God since when they make pikachu so tanned”.
I got him and months later found out it was a shiny.
The level of frustration and rage the Pokeradar brings is almost undescribable... when the chain you've worked so hard and invested so much time breaks for no apparent reason, it feels like the inside of your head has become empty, and your bosom set ablaze.
But when you finally achieve that 40th chain, sees a shining bush and successfully capture your desired shiny... the joy and euphoria it brings is so great that one does not simply forget.
As for me that was a shiny female Ralts in route 209 at nightime; splendid IV, perfect EV adjustment... she evolved to Gardevoire and she served as my most trusted adjutant for years. ...And when I first saw her mega evolve during the battle against Diantha, stood and howled high in that chapel... that was one of my happiest moments in my life.

Although I think finding a shiny Kalos Pokémon that early in the game kind of screwed with my brain, because now whenever I see a regular Skiddo, I think it looks really weird and that it's shiny form looks normal. Oh well. At least I've finally caught my first shiny.
I remember my first shiny was a Poliwhirl, it was my first time playing Pokémon but I fortunately already understood the concept of a shiny and I got so excited. I had been searching for a Dratini or Dragonair and instead this shiny guy pops up and I freak out and manage to catch it, I was so happy. I ended up resetting that game so I lost him but I remember putting all my good Pokémon through the Wonder Trade first so that other people could get some enjoyment out of them. I freaked out and spilled my drink at the restaurant i was at... Was it worth the Freakout? YUS! ALL THE YUS!
Some of the mega evolutions look even more badass when they're shiny. My favorites being Shiny Mega Gengar (it's pure white) and Shiny Mega Gardevoir (it keeps the blue hair but gets a black dress).

In my entire life I've only got a shiny Budew by random in Platinum. Now im trying all these methods. Masuda-ed 8 boxes then stopped. Chain fished and couldn't get very many. Pokeradar to chain 36, and broke the chain. I feel im drowning in a lake of rage, except if I was I would have found shiny gyrados.
I must be lucky. I'm fairly new to the whole Pokemon phenomena. My sister got me a 3DS (I think that's what it's called) and Pokemon X for my birthday. I'm grateful for anything I get and I decided it be rude not to play it, so I started and it is really fun. I'm really enjoying it.
But I've been hearing left and right how rare it is to get these shiny Pokemon. I've only gone hunting for them once, using the chain-fishing method. On my tenth reel-in, I got a shiny Gyarados. I hatched a shiny Charmander, Finneon, Vulpix, and Togepi by accident; I'd never even heard of the Masuda Method. I got all four hatching the first egg.
In the wild, I stumbled on a shiny Furret, Magneton, Houndour, Gengar, Eevee, Lapras, and Dunsparce. I traded the shiny Lapras and Dunsparce for a shiny Palkia and Ho-oh. I also evolved a few of them, including the Eevee, which I evolved into a shiny Sylveon. And just before coming to this video, I caught a shiny Ralts, which I can't wait to evolve!
So I guess I'm doing really well. :D

It is possible, just rare, and requires a hell of a lot of soft resetting, best to just breed the started with a foreign ditto... :D

Reporting back after having to fish a few Dragonairs. I fished around 50 straight without breaking the chain (I used a Sticky Hold Accelgor that was holding a Smoke Ball) I found the Dragonairs I needed but no shinies.
Later, I was capturing a few Girafarigs to trade for other Friend Safari pokemon and I randomly found a shiny Sigilyph, which is actually the first time I ever found a shiny (and I have been playing since Gen 1).
As I expected, the only method that works for me is just randomly getting one.

I've only found a shiny through just randomly running into one in the wild. I didn't even know about shinies then, but I knew something was up when I ran into a green Tediursa, so I'm glad I caught it XD.
This happened to me with my first Pokemon game Pokemon pearl, i was just training for elite 4 and a pink Rhydon came up and i had 3 Pokeballs left, great ball, Pokeball and a heal ball.... It came down to my last ball and i now have a Rhydon in a pink heal ball xD it looked ok at the time, but now when i throw out a heal ball most people are shocked to see a bad ass gold Rhypherior come out of it xD

I found out something when using the poke radar in route 10. I was chaining Eevee for a shiny, at the same time I needed Eevee for the 8 Eevee evolutions, I accidentally captured an Eevee while chaining. Apparently, it didn't break my chain! So I found out while using the poke radar, catching Pokemon will NOT break your chain. Btw, yes I got a shiny Eevee :D Go do it yourself and reply if you think this is a load of bull. I'm telling you, it's not.

Don't forget that if you do nothing you will break your chain.
The abbreviation does not mean it's from a different region, it means it's from another localization, IE. Somebody like me in Sweden will have the English localization, like most people and thus the abbreviation won't appear if I get a pokemon from somebody in the UK, US or Finland or whatever. So it's not 100%.

When the music changes during the pokeradar it means you have a 1 in 200 chance of finding a shiny.
Also theirs another way to get shiny pokemon.
Use honey in the grass or just use a pokemon with the move sweet sent. Then it'll attract five pokemon and there would be a 51% chance getting a wild shiny. Please like if this helped you!

At the moment, your best bet is the Masuda method. Forign Vulpixes are surprisingly common on Wonder Trade. It will usually take quite a while, since even with the Masuda method it's still a 1 in 1024 chance or so.

Poke radar chaining is IMPOSSIBLE for me. I couldn't even chain 3 Pokemon. The chain fishing method however worked very well, I got my first shiny on the 27th catch. The next day I tried it again, reeling in a total of 159 Pokemon in a row, but no shiny. I lost concentration after that though and haven't tried again since....
Ikr the I fail at poke radar chaining. I can some times get a lot but then other times (most of the time) I get one and then... *bam* a different pokemon appears

On x and y the only one I've gotten via a method is a shiny roselia using the Masuda method. I've randomly seen and unfortunately killed a shiny woobat in the game though.
shiny pokemon are like TF2 Hats, everyone wants em even though they're annoying to get and hold no significant value.
I have had only 2 shinys in my days Masuda-ing and Chaining, yet both were not due to them. One was an Audino that I found looking for a Venipede on route 7 in X. The other (also in X) was an Agislash that I got through Wonder Trade. Oh, and back to the Audino story, I did actually find a Vinipede!
Am i the only person whos not interested in a pokemon with mediocre stats despite them being shiny? i might pick up my favorites, sure, but to collect them seems a complete waste of valuable time training

That's why I'm moving around the higher-level areas and going to use my master ball on whatever I find. I've not ran into a shiny since the original Gold and Silver (though have picked up a few through the GTS...even if their legitimacy is questionable), and have put 100+ hours in gen 4-6, But when I do I'll get one that, maybe it's not a powerhouse on my team, but I could find a way to work it in for casual battles against friends.

When I got home I popped Y in the DS and choose my starter, Fennekin, and it was shiny. A shiny on the first try was one of my luckiest attempts and always holds a place in my team and heart.

Stumbled upon a shiny Golett when I was searching for some Eevees so for my Eeveelutions and randomly encountered a shiny Dugtrio when I was trying to avoid those stupid dirt patches that kept chasing me....but oh well.
you do realize alot of people are angry at you right now dont you? finding shinys and complaining about it is just selfish when there are many people out there who tried and tried but never found a shiny without cheating devices...

Sonny Firestorm u won like me then I have found all my shines in gen 3 and 4 in gen 3 I have got a shiny paras in LG and Shiny absol in Emerald and in gen 4 I have a shiny zubat, Ponyta, Pichu, Roselia, Bronzor and Staravia in D/P/PL and in HG I have a shiny beedrill which I found in the bug catching contest didn't win though ok im rambling I got all these without cheats and any of the methods listed in this video maybe some people r lucky and others arent
it's very likely. My first Buizel in Pearl was a shiny, and at the Pokemon Mansion, I encountered a shiny Igglybuff and caught a shiny chatot as well. My very first shiny was in Gold. It was a shiny Magby from an egg. I kept next to all of my Pokemon since present gen.....cannot wait till Poke Bank and Poke Transfer release! SO EXCITED!!!

I've tipped through the whole game and have taken all the pictures plus tips, after I was able to get two shiny noibats and a shiny espurr, though it may have just been my luck.

If they got stat boosts, it would be overpowered, and everyone would use Shinies, which would get more annoying than the shiny level 1 legendaries that every hacker seems to have.
Shinies are meant to be an example that not all Pokemon of one species look alike, and, that like real life animals, they come in rarer and more common varieties.
Bloodiasfire Still, the effort put to get those is too much JUST FOR A DIFFERENT COLOR. At least they should have something unique like say higher critical ratio and higher evasiveness just to make them worth the effort IN BATTLE.
Nope. That, too, would make them overpowered. Especially the Evasiveness part.
People like rare things, and pretty things. In a lot of cases, Shiny pokemon have GORGEOUS color scheme, and just the idea of having something that most people who don't have it in don't have. This makes them very, very appreciated by everyone.

Bloodiasfire completely agree bro I love the idea of shiny pokemon and I personally don't care if they are normal stat wise that is what IV breeding is for. I mean shiny pokemon could have worse stats then normal pokes and I would still go after them :P
In gen 2, Shiny Pokemon HAD to have decent IVs, but they couldn't have perfect ones either, so some people are actually under the impression that Shinies are better than non-shinies. :p
But yeah. My dear shinies whom I worked so hard for, while not amazingly powerful in terms of IVs, are still the members of my team I feel most attached to, given how hard it was to get them. What Infinity Master doesn't understand, here, is that Pokemon isn't only about the competitive and the battles.

I’ll never forget the time I was EV training with hordes on route 8 and found a full-odds shiny zangoose.. surrounded by seviper, which quickly killed it before I could take them out.

I just want to say, by chain fishing i got FOUR shinies in one day, so yes that method works amazingly well.
HOW?!? I try all the time getting a magikarp and corsola & I was seem to fail! Chain broken by no nibble, & i use lileep!
Okay, to do chain fishing, your going to REALLY want a pokemon with suction cups, While it is not technically required, it makes it so you allways get a bite. Then you litterally just need to equip whatever rod you want for which pokemon your looking for, and fish without moving at all.
You can have other pokemon bite on the rod and it won't matter, the only things that will break your chain are, You moving from your spot. You catching a pokemon. you missing the catch or not getting a bite, Or you seeing a shiny. All you need to do is stay still and just get every single bite as it comes, For me it only took about a half hour to get one.

Well, It should work, you still need to master catching the pokemon at just the right time, try doing it by the sound rather than the visual. Also is your lileep the first in your party? it can even be dead if it's underleveled so you can still run away from pokemon.
Yea, it's always first with a smoke ball so I can run away. And my lileep is level 31
I remember just starting out Pokémon Omega ruby, and I had all male accounts in all past Pokémon games, but I decided to change into a female character this time, so I start playing normally, then this trade Icon popped up, a guy was trading me, so I said, “sure why not”, then when i traded him, THAT GUY HAD MOST OF HIS POKEMON SHINY, he gave me a shiny mew for a zigzagoon, then I caught like 8 of them then traded him again, guess what, He gave me a shiny Charmander, and a whole more, then he sent me a voice call, “I remember us voice chatting in the trade”, he says: “Hello Marie.” Then I reply with my deep ass voice, “Hi!” My guy left the trade And I got a Communication error thing pop up, that was the most hilarious moment in my whole gaming life.
