That's 4kids for ya funimation did some stuff similarly at first but changed pretty soon like buu still turned vegeto into coffee candy which isn't really a think in the states gt was a billion steps back though and changed alot of things like the music skipping the first season entirely

I remember watching that exact scene probably 20 years ago when pokemon first came to america as a saturday morning cartoon and being so confused at the localization... you’ve closed a glorious loop you mad genius
ah, sweet nostalgia
Well said, my fellow cartoon enthusiast.
4kidz back at it again
I'm still waiting for tossed salad and scrambled eggs.
I dunno, he seems a bit confused about that one...
Very stylish...

What about scrambled salad and tossed eggs?
@@csweezey18 what about scrambled tossed and salad eggs?
i like how they took the time to change the name of the food but not the food itself, something they totally could have done with ease
i mean… no? The show was made for japanese audiences, the dub was made afterwards, they certainly couldn’t have just changed the animation with ease when making the dub.
@@DeepfriedBeans4492 we have seen things like this done before in future dubs, its not impossible
@@blue_axolotl64 i didn’t say it’s impossible, I said they couldn’t have done it with ease, which is what you said
Could you do:
Yoda’s snake stew from The Empire Strikes Back (For May the Fourth, perhaps?)
Turtle Soup from ye olde Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon
Barbossa’s feast from Pirates of the Caribbean
You had me with the first two but now I REALLY want the third
Matthew Anderson you do realize he would be totally clueless without comments suggesting what to make next right?
>Barbossas feast
So, a bushel of apples? The prep on that seems pretty easy
@@vertical7747 He even says in each of his videos "leave suggestions for my next project in the comments below." *sigh* some people's kids...
@@originalindigodingo I was talking about everything on the table (the fish, that leg of meat Elizabeth eats, the lobster, etc.) when Barbossa tells Elizabeth about the nitty gritty of the curse, though a bushel of apples would work as a side!
I had a split second of fear thinking you were about to put jam in rice, which would of still been A+
If it still would have been A+ then why the fear? lol
If jam can go with rice pudding I guess anything is possible

SSJ Bouncy... Does that mean Flubber=Brolly?
April fools joke or not I'd still make these
They do look really good. I’d probably switch out the glaze and coconut for a more traditional sugar coating though.
This makes so much sense. I knew these donuts were coated with coconut flakes.
I always wondered what that sort of rice like white coating was
@griffith did nothing wrong I'm pretty sure that they're joking.
I love how the localization team for pokemon really wanted people to know that they were in fact jelly filled donuts. If they said it once I wouldn't really notice it, but because they mentioned how they were jelly filled donuts and absolutely not onigiri like 4 times made it really funny.
I was watching this entire video thinking "that looks like rice, I would've assumed it was onigiri unless he said otherwise" april fools really got me, I forgot the date
As a kid I watched this and didn't even question it hahaha
I know this is a joke but my God for the longest time I really wanted a donut version of this and you've brought it ;-;
Of all the days to do this Episode.
It had to be this day.
10/10 would eat Jelly Filled Donuts again.
Nothing beats a jelly filled donut!
That's the point.
It's supposed to be an April Fools' Day joke.
Brilliant use of a meme to make something deliciously interesting. I'm dying over here 😂

Lmao this dude did a whole meal on the local censorship of onigiri, love this channel. I want the invisible guns from yugioh next
What about the Walky Talkies from E.T. : Remastered?
A bad localization is far from being censorship lol
@@dcon1891 And, obviously, it's because the American kids at the time would have no idea what rice balls were.
@@dcon1891 Eh 4kids was a shitshow for both of those, I mean do you really think kids would be like "Oh yeah, that's a donut alright." Also in this case it somewhat is censorship since they removed most of the japanese culture instead of explaining it.
Not censorship it's just badly localized
Japanese Dub: *shows onigiri* Here have some Umeboshi Onigiri
English Dub: *shows onigiri* Here have some jelly donuts
Japanese Dub: Am I a joke to you?
Lol, exactly. Pokemon have the worst food translations, all through the series. I was looking for someone else who knew this.
If you actually watch the video he knows it's not actually a donut. It's an April Fool's day video to rustle some Jimmie's.
