      Well My Mate Vince, its your fault, I mean inspiration, lol. That’s why I love your channel so much and everyone because we both just give it a go and try to fix things, scrap to many people but a chance to learn something for us. You inspired me to just get on and try to fix it. I owe you a debt of gratitude to give me the confidence to just try, no matter what. Your channel is simply amazing! Thank you for the comment mate 🤗

      Why are you shorting the new battery with the metal tweezers?

  • @peterthebricky

    I looked at four different videos on how to change the battery and the best one was from the hoover guy

      Awwww bless, thank you 🙏🏻 I really appreciate that mate 😀

    Next time try and use non-conductive tweezers, because if you notice you spent a lot of time completing the circuit between the + & - of the capacitor. IE, shorting it out. IE, shortening the life dramatically. "I'm just saying."

      That’s amazing advice, thank you. I will get a little set of plastic ones. Thank you 🙏🏻

    Hi there.I have a 21yr. Old citizen ecodrive. It has a monocoque case. The power cell is failing and have been advised they are no longer available. Also is access difficult?

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't understand why you can't change the battery on it, I've never heard of a Citizen watch where you can't change the cell? Without seeing the watch I can't tell how to remove the back.

    After changing my battery, the watch seemed to only run (normally) while exposed to light. I assumed it was not running off the battery at all. Was concerned I might not have gotten it installed correctly. I then pulled the stem out so it would not run and sat it in a window to charge for 4 days. After that, I set the date and time, finally finishing with the stem pushed in completely. All seems to be running as normal now. I guess a new battery needs a good/ complete charge before operating correctly.

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  ปีที่แล้ว

      That could be the case of the new battery is absolutely and totally flat. Very rare they do come that flat though, you were lucky.

    I really like this watch. Which eco drive is this ? I have the Garrison because it’s got everything I like. Time…day and date.

    It's handy to know that some citizen watch bracelets have tiny grip collers inserted into the links which may fall out when pins are removed . You only find out this when refitting the pins and thay fall out again. Luckily enough i found the 2 tiny round collers and refitted them.
    The tiny grip collers seem to be fitted to the citizen promaster range.

    My citizen Eco Drive watch has no notches on the back cover to turn it, Nor does it have any place to pry. Any idea how it comes apart? it's a 22 year old watch.

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They still twist off but you have to have a special rubberised gripper to put pressure and twist.

    Question, i have a brand new citizen eco drive axiom and one night after blowing air on it to clean it, i was all of a sudden able to see some sort of mechanism on the dial. I swear im not going crazy when I remember the dial was pitch black but now i have this annoying thing to look at, any ideas what could have happened?

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh gosh, I’m afraid I have no idea, I know some watches have an LCD face or part of the face. I’m not familiar with that particular watch. Sorry mate.

    You should always replace all the rubber seals when replacing the battery..including the ones in the stem!

      Perpetual refers to the date never needing adjustment, not the battery life.
