- Nvidia has recently released the RTX 4060 Ti and in this video I wanted to take a deeper dive into what Nvidia has brought to the table compared to the RTX 3060 Ti, the 4060 Ti has little to no incremental performance uplift, if we take away ray tracing and DLSS 3 which I'm pretty confident Nvidia could add this technology to their previous gen hardware too but they have to have a good selling point, marketing as a 50% to 100% performance uplift when in actual rasterization cases, the 4060 Ti performs equally to the 3060 Ti.

When I looked at how big the gaps from tier to tier in the 40 series cards is, I figured that the 4050 would be slower than a 3050. This is just another data point confirming that trend.

@@kingiument4627 it's 10-15 percent at 1080p and even lower at 1440p. And it loses to the 3060 ti at 4k in a lot of games. Frame gen is good in single player games but stop fanboying.

I literally think we stuck in the days of intel when they kept making 4 core cpus for ages but in this case its gpus now

@@CornRecords972 Hell, the CPU market is just beginning its innovation. Intel has some huge changes on their roadmap for the next 2 generations, and hopefully AMD will continue to match their pace. GPU market is still innovating, but that innovation is marred by insidious naming practices and purposeful gimping, with the exception of the 4090 (which has its own issues, being overengineered and therefore costing a couple hundred bucks more than it should).

@@fynkozari9271Bulldozer was pretty awful at the time too. It was one of the big reasons why AMD was set back for several years and nearly went bankrupt. The "budget brand" reputation really took off with Bulldozer and they couldn't shake it off until Zen 2 or Zen 3 almost a decade later.
If games were actually OPTIMIZED nowadays, 8gb vram would still be great. Now it's just 'good enough'. I'm glad I got my 3060Ti at just $400 during the GPU shortage. It's great bang for your buck. Paired it with a 5600X and couldn't be happier, I love them both. The only thing stopping me now is unoptimized games.

And that GPU will cost consumers $100 more despite 8GB of GDDR6 costing like $20 or $30 tops for Nvidia. They basically launched a overclocked 3060ti with lower power consumption!
I've literally had the same outcome by undervolting and overclocking my RX 5600 XT
Dropped power consumption by 50 watts and I gained ~10-15 FPS on average
Well really, what they launched was a 4050 with "4060ti" written on it. Same as they've been doing with every 40 series card outside of the 4090. Edit: Not that AMD isn't guilty of the same thing. The absurdly named "7900 XTX" is the real 7900 XT, while the "7900 XT" is really the 7800 XT.

@n n actually, I will be buying an rtx3060 ti (currently running an gtx 1080) exactly for dlss. I don't give a crap about 4k or 120 fps. I just want a gpu that runs full hd, 60 fps with medium-high settings constantly on new games and I think due to dlss the RTX 3060ti will do this for many years to come...

Nvidia designed the 40 series for crypto miners because they were incredibly short sighted, and now they want gamers to make up those losses by overpricing their garbage.
It's actually true. Despite TSMC's N4 being significantly more expensive than Samsung's 8LPP (like, twice the price at least), they bought MORE than when they bought for Ampere (RTX 30).
yea its been nice, i've sold my 300 series and got 4000s series due to energy prices increasing. so power efficiency is what key to continue crypto mining. that being said the memory bus reduction actually makes the 30 series cards better for some crypto algos so the rtx 4060 ti is doa for us too. Its to small in its effective mining versatility
The 30 series was a combo of scalpers jumping on to demand and Nvidia selling cards directly to both scalpers and miners in bulk. They were selling hundreds to miner groups at once and scalpers got lines into store houses (before they are shipped to the west). Nvidia's rep has jumped off a cliff since all that started. The 40 series never had a chance.

Thank god I bought the RTX 3060ti rather than waiting for the 4060ti. I already knew - after the pricing of RTX 3090ti - Nvidia would increase the price and performance or maintain the price but worsen the performance, which that happened to the 4060ti. Granted, I wanted to have their 16GB VRAM, cuz I play Warzone, but for a $100 more with same performance, I think it’s not worth it. NVIDIA is definitely taking the L this year with their prices, performance, and claims.
Their motto “for the gamers” became a legend. I feel like NVIDIA is becoming Apple at this point. A luxurious brand for a luxurious price with decent to terrible performance.

@@pr3287the better power consumption is relevent for 4060 and 4070 and 4080, a 3060 ti undervolted can match the power consumption of a 4060 ti with both having their same performance, and as both performs very similarly the 4060 ti is a big scam. either buying a 4060 or a 4070 is worth it.

definitely. but in some games the 4060ti can get almost as good as a 3070 like in rdr2 or forza horizon 5, so it depends on the game

I want you guys to please help me out with this one, I have a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 15ACH6, with 8GB Memory, Ryzen 5600H, and GTX 1650. The fitted memory on this laptop is a Ramaxel RMSA3320MJ78HAF-3200. And I wanted to include another 8GB stick in there but I really have the budget of one 1 8gb stick. I have shortlisted two, a Crucial CT8G4SFRA32A and a G.SKILL F4-3200C22S-8GRS. The Ramaxel one is PC4-25600 Non-ECC CL22 1.2V. The Crucial and G.SKILL both have the same timings, the same voltage, and are both 3200Mt/s and have the same specs overall. I wanted to know whether I could use them together or if they are compatible with each other on the motherboard or not.
Got my 3060TI dec 2020 for a little over retail back then because of the shortage. Still running strong!
As I recall, there was no shortage. Demand was higher than production capacity but Nvidia was still able to sell pallets of GPUs to mining farms in bulk, rather than the PC Gaming market. That decision allowed distributors and retailers to jack up the prices on artificially low stock, something the SEC fined nvidia for. They made billions off crypto bros, now they're trying to do the same thing with Ai.
@@thisguy3500 Nvidia's backdoor dealings were wrong, but there was still a shortage. Miners were part of demand and would've been purchasing cards regardless. Not to mention, miners weren't the sole cause of the chip shortage either.

Some people don't have a choice. Those who need CUDA acceleration for whatever software they use or other Nvidia exclusive features are basically stuck with a de facto monopoly. But I would say the majority of gamers can daily drive an AMD or Intel GPU no problem (although Intel still struggles with older games and a few other issues).

I'm hoping next gen has some actual performance gains since they can't use DLSS3 alone to skew charts. But, it's Nvidia so I'm sure they'll innovate new ways to mislead people
As far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with DLSS as a feature. Honestly, it's a pretty clever way to get most of the good out of a 1440p or 4k monitor with card that's otherwise not powerful enough to handle those resolutions. But it's not magic, and it can't construct detail from nothing. It's certainly not going to completely cover for a reduced core count or lower bandwidth bus.
That’s why you don’t upgrade your hardware every time something new comes out like an absolute muppet but instead wait and see how much of an increase in performance these gpus actually give if any.

There will probably never be a generation as good as pascal. Nvidia will make sure it doesn't happen again. Ada has as much gains as Pascal, but they severely gimped every card below the 4090. In fact, the 1080ti is less cut down from the full die than the 4090 is. But they still managed to convince people that it's the best value card at more than double the price. If Nvidia had strong competition since then, the 4090 would've costed similar to 1080ti (plus inflation and the higher node costs).
I got the 3060ti and its just fine! play everything on high or ultra, no issues so far

you are not wrong, but frame generation is... I wouldn't say bad, but not always good. So the generated frames are not real rendered frames. Its basically ai generated guess and put it between two real frames. Which in some games it works fine, but in some other games it works like crap with a lot of flaws that people called"artifact". And the worst part about generated frame is it does not help you with input lag, its just a visual thing.
For example, you are running a pretty demanding game and is only getting 40 -50 fps, sad. So you turn on frame generation now you're getting atleast 60 fps hurray. But in reality the game is still only rendering 40fps, so the controls still felt very sluggish and laggy.
I'm newbie here. Help me decide which motherboard to get? I will go with i5 12400 or 12400F and 3060 ti.

6750 xt ofcourse gives more performance but lags behind them in rtx and 3070 ti price is way high to consider.

I've watched several videos involving professional arm wrestlers and there are several things that go into it. Grip technique as well as wrist placement too. It is kind of crazy 😆
technique matters but what u dont see is their tendon strength, not muscle strength but tendon strength, so u can be much smaller than a body builder with big muscles and no tendon strength

The one thing people seem to miss; and I blame Nvidia marketing for this to some degree, is the cost of ownership. The 4060 Ti costs 50-66% less than the 3060 Ti to power. That is 'forever cost'... Any money you save up front by opting for a 3060 Ti would be sucked up by the power cost within a year and then you start to lose money - forever. So yeah, you may match or only get a slight bump in performance over the 3060 Ti, but the card runs cooler and at a fraction of the power consumption. I have mine overclocked and undervolted and it doesn't break 90 watts in most games I've tested. The 3060 Ti runs ~230-250 Watts stock and ~190 undervolted unless you get a nice stable founders. I've only heard of one hitting 160 Watts stable; still higher than a 4060 Ti at stock settings.
This is one thing I always try to explain to AMD users esp when it comes to RDNA 3 cards since they have very high power draw (7700 xt and higher) on multi monitor setups and even watching youtube a 7900 xt and 7900 xtx use 90-110 watts which is unacceptable...
They should just have called it a 3060 Ti Super, then it would have been amazing. A refresh rather than a successor, which offers much improved features at the same price and performance.

Depending on what titles you're playing, the 3060 ti is the best value since it's nearly 20% faster than the normal 3060, but doesn't have as much vram.

It's one of the reasons I've yet to upgrade from 1080TI.
6 years later it's still handling everything at max details just fine, so the only real reason I'd have for an upgrade is the ray tracing and honestly? I don't think it's worth my money quite yet.

I don't like amd because of its low efficiency and the software of nvidia being better, but nvidia pricing is just so shit. 6950XT (out performs the 4070 in rasterization by far) price has dropped from 800 to 600 so this might be the only viable thing to buy atm.

paid 1k$ for my 3080 (im swedish so about 400$ was taxes) so the actual price was pretty good, and i'm super happy with the card, insanely cool even at 100% usage and gets great performance compared to my old 970
The real W is that your 970 served you for so long. Upgrading every generation is just stupid. Waiting 3-4 generations is awesome.

@@nottsoserious Exactly! I have a GTX 970 right now too, which I won in a raffle almost a decade ago. I could have sold it for $400, unopened. But instead I kept it, and it's been a beast of a card. Same with my i7-3770k. Though, I've reached a point where it's time to move on to better performance. It'll be a bittersweet moment.

I have the 3060 with 12 gb, gotta say I play any game that was recently release, all of the on 4k, of course the quality settings are low to medium depending on the game, but I don't really see a huge difference to be honest, 4k is really looking good especially on a big TV, and the computer as a whole was only 1.2k at peak gpu prices
