    My mate bought an e_tron when they were launched, and I went to drive the car fully expecting to hate the 'camera' mirrors, because of all the reviews I read/watched. But from the moment I drove the car and started to play with them, I thought they were awesome - I loved them! I guess it comes down to the age old adage: 'don't believe everything you read/hear from a 'professional' reviewer - go experience them yourself' (though I'll still be sticking with my ancient A6 Avant 3.0TDi for a little bit longer yet!). 😉

    Audi makes a decent looking X6, that’s for sure.

    I’m think I’m still confused after all the naming convention stuff. Why are they changing things so rapidly these days?

      @@iamspyvspy3077 yeah everyone’s got quirks, just strange why they all feel this will be beneficial to their future strategies.

    On country roads in BC Canada you would appreciate the lack of side mirrors. So long as you can control the camera to the point where you turn it off at night etc. It really reduces the strain not having lorries and pickup trucks blast you in the rear view with headlights and such. It's all about anti glare when driving here at night. That said I hear you. The camera system is awkward. But it is a godsend at night on roads like these.

    How long will the RS models be produced for with Internal Combustion Engines (ICE)?: RS4/ RS6/ RS7/ RSQ8. What about the S8?

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, wonder if they’ll go the hybrid route like AMG or just go straight to EV for the next iteration.

    The SQ8 doesn’t come with the camera mirrors as standard tho. It’s an extra option, so it shouldn’t become a problem for deciding on getting the car or not😅

    • @CARmagazineTV
      @CARmagazineTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      It comes as standard on the top spec model (that many buyers will want), hence it being controversial!

    • @123vemund

      @@CARmagazineTV that’s true. My SB S is almost fully loaded with the exception of the camera mirrors. So it can easily be bought without.

    The start of this video talks about Audi's rapid progress towards electrification and yet all their high volume cars A1, A3, A4, Q3, Q5 are all still very much petrol & diesel focused. I'm also baffled by the talk of environmentally responsible cabin materials in a 2.5 ton, luxury tanker such as this - surely if they really cared they wouldn't produce such unnecessary massive opulent vehicles?

    I really like your reviews and you have a very good technical understanding, which makes me all the more surprised when you're quoting kW for battery capacity, when I'm sure you know it's kWh (energy).
    And why are you using old units for power BHP and torque lb.ft ??
    You should be quoting kW or PS for power and Nm for torque.
    Nobody in the automotive sector uses those old units and haven't for decades. Even the Americans are going metric.
    Maybe it's a Brexit thing is it?
    The rest of the world uses Isometric - Motoring journalists please get with it.
    It spoils for what is otherwise an excellent review.

    • @CARmagazineTV
      @CARmagazineTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you like the reviews. We often shorthand kWh to kW (lazy, but it is a mouthful!) and currently CAR magazine’s style guide dictates power as BHP and torque as lb ft.

    2.5 tonnes! The size of a LB Sprinter van. And driven in a similar manner. And cost wise as much as a terraced house in the North of the UK.
    Hmmm. When will electric be available for all and not simply the ( smug?) " Elite"? A long way to go..
    Thank You. As always a brilliant, balanced review.

    I would love the Audi Q8 with at least the range of a BMW iX (~600km). The BMW looks hideous compared to this, but you have to recognise BMW for their achievements with range, using a battery of similar capacity to the Audi.

    • @DavidHukill
      @DavidHukill 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Completely agree. The new bmw styling is hideous. The audi checks all of the boxes for me, except of course range. But I’m sure I could manage that.

  • @BillB33525

    Why quote WLTP range when real world range is about 70% of WLTP? BMW iX kills this car on range.

    • @thakursachin
      @thakursachin ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a lot more to a car than range. For the money, the Q8 e-tron has more standard equipment than the iX.
