Happy Friday everyone! Its about time Audi offers an electric SUV that doesn't cost close to $100,000 and while there are plenty of reasons to like the new Q4 e-tron, its rivals still offer a ton of tech, range, and power for less money.
Even though the starting price is $49800, but most dealerships in US are selling the Q4 for $58k (premium trim) and up and Q4 doesn’t qualify for $7500 ev tax credit.
Ugh, I absolutely hate when reviewers showcase the damn Apple car play! No one wants to see that, it’s the same in literally every car since it first came out. I want to see the Native OS, not CarPlay! Please showcase the native OS next time
"It just looks/feels really bad to be on a vehicle that wears an audi badge" - unfortunately, something you'll be saying A LOT with this car. Way too much cost-cutting, it's extremely off-putting and unbecoming of a luxury brand.
Agreed...too many hard plastics, and cheaper-looking materials are evident all over the place. Not only cheap-looking materials, but the busyness of both the grill and the interior design also look inexpensive. The fact that it lacks features (such as ventilated seats) even available on high-trim non-luxury cars is also a problem.
I wish Audi would make an A4 etron. Kinda tired of seeing iterations of the same midsize crossover platform from every manufacturer where the only thing you can do to stand out is get a coupe-y version. BMW figured this out with the i4, but Audi continues to try and appeal to the “I need an SUV because it’s safer crowd”.
I think the Q4 is fine. However, if you can put up with the worse controls, I’d just get the ID.4. The ID.4 has the tax credit available, has a cheaper MSRP, faster charging (170kw vs 150kw), and more range.
If you’re seriously considering one of these, first try a 2nd hand Audi e-tron. I got a 2019 e-tron Prestige with 10k miles for $10k less than the MSRP of the Prestige trim of this, and it is leagues ahead of this in luxury, features, drive, etc.
Chevy Bolt is a great car from a value perspective, only major downside is “slow” fast charging. I’d 100% recommend it as a DD EV with rare and very few long road trips. I have a Mach-E and sat in a Bolt EUV for the first time a few months ago, very nice car!
I really love the exterior, but the interior is so cheap for the price. GV60 has much nicer materials and design imo. Hard touch plastic on the upper door panels is unacceptable for almost 70k.
Agreed. That cabin looks like something that belongs in a entry level Volkswagen product, not a $60K+ USD luxury vehicle. How Audi thought this was an acceptable level of quality to put on the market is mind boggling. It looks so cheap.
This is the best review I have seen. I contracted for the Q4 January 2022. Than the Russian War on Ukraine. I changed my order to the Sportback. I do not like SUVs. They are too big. This sports back makes it better to me. My order is not in and it is arriving June or July.
Everyone is saying "just wait for the Equinox EV". Really? The current ICE Equinox is rated below average for reliability. Do you really think that GM making an Equinox EV will suddenly make this go away? Good luck with that. You'd better lease the Equinox EV so you can walk away from in 2-3 years if it turns out to be a "GM product"
Plenty fast and pretty nice. No 360 camera or ventilated seats unlike my 2017 Kia Optima SXL is disappointing as is the range. It seems about $4k too high in price. The GV60 is about the same price and I would choose it in a heartbeat over this.
Great video thank a lot for detail introduce. As for the break the Q4 back tire not using the dish break, I cannot accept that, I will not consider Q4 . very disappointed.
Everyone is up in arms about MEB cars using rear disc brakes like it’s some horrible thing. It’s not. In EVs the physical brakes are used less because of regen braking. In a car the front brakes are almost always used more than the rear brakes, meaning that the rear brakes in this car aren’t used that much at all, disc brakes deteriorate faster than drum brakes when not used as much, so for that reason along with the reason that this car isn’t used for performance driving, VW group uses drum brakes so the rear brakes don’t have to be maintained as much compared to drum brakes. Braking performance is not affected at all.
The drum break is not so the car is cheaper to produce, but the rear disc end out rusting away, because they will be used so little, we already see that rear breaks ofte rust before they are out of life even on normal Gasolin cars. so the reviewer simply dont understand the purpose of them. its at win win for you as a customer. i Work at Audi in DK
Great video! I'm getting used to being disappointed by new cars over the last 10 years, and disappointment continues with this car. The technology has existed for 15+ years to design and build a 350+ HP Hybrid car that gets 40+ MPG and 500+ miles of range, but the auto industry refuses to build it. WTF Over?
I stopped watching after seeing drum brakes on an Audi. Big pass. Thanks for another great video, Sofyan! Really interested to get a “Why we sold our Mach-E” video, if possible.
Drum brakes on and Audi that's just insane to say the SUV model to me looks better this gives me van vibes every time I look it overpriced egg to be honest great review as always.
This is just an ID.4 with an Audi badge. Probably since VW is complaining that they can't make money on electric cars. It's only going to get worse for VW. I was thinking about the ID.4 until Tesla dropped their prices last week.
I think this would be my perfect new car in the future, it still faster than most normal gas powered cars so its fine, preemptively can say its a bit of a disappointment for most pepole
“The million dollar question” is definitely not whether or not an EV has a frunk. Less than nobody actually uses the frunk. It is not a decisioning factor in a vehicle purchase.
The exterior and interior scream cost cutting to me. Even the Audi logo on the steering wheel looks like a cheap sticker. Get a Volvo C40 Recharge, Tesla Model Y, Genesis GV60 over this for sure.
@@nothere572 Genesis GV60 has 248mi of range. This Audi only has 242mi of range. Both according to EPA. I don't see Volvo using hard thin plastic on door panels like Audi. The Volvo has 226mi of range but you are at least getting 400HP +
2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV will absolutely destroy this Q4 with much better range, lower price and way more interior space. Even better - it will qualify for 7,500 tax credit. I hope all car manufacturers will start selling cars online, so dealers have no incentive to mark up 10-20k over MSRP.
This Audi already seems outdated compared to the Korean and Chinese offerings available at much lower price points. Even the Chevy Bolt has standard features that this Audi does not and the Bolt after IRA credits can be had for $24K. I'm not even going to mention the Tesla Model Y after price cuts!
Agree with everything you said jeez vw did a horrible job with their Evs for nearly $20k less get a bolt and no rear drums same price yes Korean all day even the mustang used Tesla
Its no different in performance to the id4 that sucks i wish it was faster, is that seriuos i hope the s will come. The car midigates ubdersteer trough the corners
Just boring Germaan cars are extrelemt predicable and boring in outer design. Yes they have high quality in manufacturing but cars are just Russian dolls. Very lazy designs

I mean no wonder people are buying the vws Does Audi not want anyone to buy the q4 or vw id4 unfortunately people are buying them
They have cost cut to much they should of just labeled it a VW very disappointing for luxury suv scratchy black plastic in rear I mean it’s an Audi omg.
Colossal EV ripoff. 🤮. GM Equinox and Blazer EV’a destroy this thing. Half the price, almost double the range (513 KM) eligible for government rebates, made in 🇺🇸, double the horsepower (SS model), fast charging, massive dealer network. Equinox is $30,000 (USD) and less rebates = $23,000-$25,000 😮 👍 The entire “this is a luxury car” (meaning you’re a sucker and paying 2-3x more than a comparable) is totally out the window in the Electric Vehicle era. Tesla sucked us in to this and we went for it. EV’s don’t break as much and require very little ongoing maintenance. The $30k Equinox EV isn’t supposed to come out until 2024… and they aren’t even promising $30k, they just say around $30k, and many features will be cut.
