Thank you for this interview! I’m a single guy of 32 years, working in IT, having my mom staying alone in India. I am too moving to India in the next two years. I’m a little worried about the comfort zone honestly, but just gonna have a strong fighter spirit and make the move! :)
I found myself returning backhome while applying foreign national citizenship , And I always struck in my past memories of my Village and Dad. Indeed , I will be most valued as a person where I born and brought up. I am getting there to bury my memories and soul next to my family rather focusing on my career. But my experience will be shared and used 300%(3 members) with my community where I born & brought !
Firstly thank you for this initiative. This is amazing. Most of the interviews you have are people who do not have kids. Have you spoken to folks who have kids and been there for couple of years. That way people get into routine and then start seeing some real issues and then the real points come out (in either direction)
My friend's family came back to India after 11 yrs in the US. My friend was in her 6th grade. My other friend also came back to India from Australia with his parents.
i am a Uk citizen , originally from South Indian.. cam back after 20 years of life in London.. would love to be part of your wonderful channel interview
I would love to hear them now, 2 years later. In this video it’s just been 2 months since their return but it would be great to know how they feel about their decision in hindsight 2 years after
A lot of the first wave of Indian immigrants (mid-late 1960's) said the same thing: they'd study, work for a few years, then go back. But as time went on they stayed back in the US, and are the founding forefathers of the Indian community. Quite a few did go back, but many of them ended up coming back - or are doing their best to get their kids back into the US.
I moved to India in 2018 after 15 years in US with 2 kids who grew up in US. We loved 4.5 years in Bangalore, India during some of worst time due to Covid. I joined Amazon in a senior role in India so I know that work life will be tough. I didn’t expect 4 hours travel time on top of that. We had a great life in India before Covid started. We decided to return to US due to kids higher education.
People think that Hyderabad is now better with the traffic. It could be better now but will definitely get worse with the time. What was Bangalore’s traffic few years go? We don’t grow our infrastructure to support our growing population. Anyways people who always stay in any country without a permanent visa will have to go back some day or the other day and it’s good that they went back when they can easily do it. And going back depends up on many factors and personal preferences. The same decision looks good to them but not for another person with a different set of factors and preferences.
Quite an interesting conversation & very honest answers, Indeed a lot of people like me who are just contemplating to go back to India but yet to take that step. Though life begins when you step off out of your comfort zone but here I am don't want to leave this comfort zone.🤣
@Stephanie Ellison you are right, this is god given gift, this earth not belongs to us, this earth really belongs to our ancestors. The greedy and ambitious people now squandering it.
Getting out of the comfort zone is not an easy task for me when your life partner is not on the same boat. For instance my wish is to go back to my country & whereas my wife and kids are not onboard of this opinion. Hence I have to find peace within myself and trying to stay happy wherever I am.
@Stephanie Ellison But what about the dust, pollution, non compliance of ANY rules, political gundagardi, totally useless legal system etc etc? You seem to be okay with that.
@Stephanie Ellison I agree with you. The sad part is the people who wants to stay in USA after their studies is that they are very much money minded people. Here in India a good educated person has to face lots of reservation problems trust me these people in next ten years time will be raising their voices "minority rights" in USA. They don't understand that a capitalist does not worry or wants to worry about your rights.
What I feel in India there is a thought process, if you move abroad then you are successful. Its something that you have done something great. Honestly I moved to Poland and its a great country with great people. But my life and heart is in India for various reasons. I never wanted to settle abroad ever but wanted to explore and live in foreign land. I am happy but happiness is in India and moving back to India will make me happier
True ... Many people see it so. Living far, earning a bit more or more, having an accent, behaving half firang, Indians appreciate but nothing can beat the vibe of India. We have everything here. Although, you live alone, per say, you don't feel alone here. But then I understand why people like to live there. I hope the government makes few changes in our country...
Gachibowli development is in progress, it has 30 years plan. It is good for real estate and IT companies. It will be couple of years that dust will settle, but altogether it will be entirely new city. Another city development is happening in Shadnagar for pharma city. After 10 years down the lane it will be best city in the whole world.
@Samuel Johnson in terms of revenue growth , number of new companies that are establishing and also new branches of MNCs, employment growth, Real estate and infrastructure growth, training for the inters and new talented professionals, city and urban transport development.
This was nice. Can you also interview someone not having the luxury of smooth transition of job within same company in India? I mean from viewers perspective "moving back to India" as thumbnail kicks in lot of interest in knowing about people who really didn't have the smooth setup as this couple. Someone starting from scratch again.

What is good in India compared to US god knows. Bangalore traffic is so bad, we got stuck for 2 hrs on one day!! I have a feeling these 2 will be back to US very soon. Come back no need to try any other city it’s all the same.
Well no Indian city is better than the other, all are equally good. But its just a personal choice. For me Bengaluru is the best. Its not good to say 1 city is better than other, because its absolutely a personal choice.

If Indian get green and citizen . I doubt they will go back to India 🇮🇳 as u how is life in India . U sponsor ur parents by son r daughter . R they can travel every six month . What is fuss about. Usa is first world . then why r accepting job in usa 🇺🇸 ???
Why do the Indians keep saying aha aha aha while talking. I have noticed even the news readers have got this bad habit. I think working environment is better in Western countries but retirement life is better in india. However things are changing and I think that's sadly making the youngsters more confused. You should know exactly what you want and stick to it.

This is typical journey for those who return to India with kids born in USA.

@Stephanie Ellison Welcome to India first of all. I don't think, you need to apologize at all about this.
You have to get out of your comfort life , otherwise you have nothing to do

Bangalore is a lovely place for the retired people, as they don't have to face the traffic jam. The weather is perfect.
Respect to your decision, although I know you might be missing the comfort life in US, but be happy of the decision what you have made.
And I know that people might be missing the togetherness of their family and friends while in US.
