I'm Indian myself (Punjabi) and guys like the ones at the start make me ashamed of being Indian. I believe it comes from their self hate. They themselves have felt inferior to white people for so long and still do, that it makes them feel better about themselves if they look down on others. We're definitely not all like that. Some of us know the truth about our history and don't feel inferior to anyone. Therefore don't feel the need to look down on other's. You handled the whole situation with class tho brother. @@Hellotherepeopleofthew cut the crap. You know how racist our people are. All my friends and most of my male cousins/brothers all like to look down on black people. They were just trying to be friendly in their own clueless way. I did not detect any malice from those two. The only racists I see are those in the comments sections. From sweden to africa.
The whole world is taking about the gang rape of a Spanish tourist that was traveling on motor bike with her husband. They tied her husband up and 7 men gang raped this poor woman. So disgusting!! They had traveling thru Nepal and Pakistan and never had any problems until they came to India!! The PM brags all the time how great Indians are and he even said that India was the first country in the world to successfully transplant an elephant head onto a human body. He said Indians should be very proud as they are first in the world because of their religion. You can Google this, as these are all Facts. An average of nearly 90 rapes a day were reported in India in 2022, according to data from India’s National Crime Records Bureau. That is equivalent to a rape every 18 minutes. And these are just from the ones reported. We know that there are many that go unreported!!! Women are not treated well in India. Look at the PM himself...he abandoned his wife on his honeymoon night and never divorced her, she has had to live in poverty while he lives in the upmost luxury with his Nepali Boys and peacocks. This is how women are treated in India from the very top! How do you expect change??? He is worshipped instead. This is India. They may not feel SHAME but the whole international community is talking about India's past time. Where cows are better protected. Sad. So much religion with building so many temples and statues.....but look at the real nature of the country! SHAMEFUL! And the North are very racist against the South who are proud of being Dravdians. The North was invaded by people from peoples from Turkey and Iran, so they have lighter skin. That is also how Hindi is connected to Persian and is an Indo-European language. The South, the Dravdians have their own language, which is the true indigenous to the subcontinent called Tamil, which is one of the oldest languages but the North tried to force the South to make Hindi the language for all of India. This is because of the Hindu Right wing who are very powerful and want to make India a nation of one religion and one language, their language, Hindi. And because the South objected to Hindi, you will see a lot of very racist comments for the South because they have darker skin. The reason India is so successful is because of the South, they create all the wealth to support most of the States except maybe Maharashtra. Yet, the folk in the North have very respect for the folk in the South, and also bring up color and the comments used to be very nasty as YT could not decipher the language and the words used to mock the South because of their dark skin. Ever since the current PM has come to power the attacks on minorities has increased ten fold. Last year thousands of Christians were slaughtered in the State of Manipur. The government refuses to release the exact numbers of Christians that have been killed. When you have bad leadership at the top it filters down to the bottom. If you travel through the South you will see a big difference. The South is very friendly and they smile and are kind. They also don't scam you. However there are folk that have moved from the North to the South so you may encounter them. But generally in the rular areas you will not encounter them. The PM has instill too much false pride and so this creates arrogance and they feel they can say anything even if it is nasty. Now, a lot of folk in the North are not literate and so they lack etiquette to be able to talk politely. A lot if it is ignorance. They have forgotten about the dats when the British would put up signs in front of their buildings, saying "All dogs and Indians are not allowed in the building". India is doing well because Biden pulled all their manufacturering from China and moved it to India. Trump did pull manufacturing out of China but refused to put it in India abd instead moved it to Eastern Europe. He said he didn't trust the leadership as he didn't know if they might get upset about some religious matter and disrupt manufacturing. But Biden and the Democrats want to help Indians come up. But the funny thing is the indians loyal to the PM, denigrate Biden and the Democrats all the time as being weak. They will rather support Trump in an election as they admire him for being so strong. And also because Trump put a ban on all people from Middle East countries...ie of that religion. if i say the religion that YT will get up even if it is true??? Anyhow i hope that explains why you receive the kind of treatment where you are at in India. Instead of trying to progress and do better, they are building more and more temples and statues!! Everything here is fact, and a simple search on Google will confirm everything! Good luck.
Gandhi himself used to request the British in South Africa to treat Indians better than South African blacks because Indians were less dark AKA brown. So in his mind white was the best and dark skin worst. Go figure...
@@utopiac679 you will find racist people in every culture, but we need to educate our people, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims. Of course my Sikh friends are lovely people.
@utopiac679 Sikh people can be racist too. You talk as if people are stupid. I recall being called the n-word in college by a Punjabi Sikh on the elevator after our college course was over. This was a class on Sikh culture and I got along extremely well with our professor and had a deep interest in it. The rest of the class were Indian descent students likely taking it as an easy elective. Anywho, the one that called me an n-word gave a fake apology the following class saying that he grew up in the hood and has baby mothers while laughing. I didn’t say anything and just brushed him off because I knew what he was doing. He thought that because I was the only brother in class that I was an easy target and he had a group to back him up (pretty weak if you ask me). With that, he figured that if he could elicit a negative reaction out of me that he and his mates can lie and say I was the aggressor thus getting me kicked out of school and trying to get me arrested. I knew what his game was as he didn’t want to see me getting the same education as him let alone excelling in a course about his own culture. I play chess not checkers and wasn’t going to let him rob me of a degree and a good future. In short, your assertion and projection onto the Hindus as far as racism goes is disingenuous at best. At the end of the day he was just a fraud in terms of his Sikh culture and faith. He was nothing more than a devil wearing garbs and at best a “cultural” Sikh. People like him need to really learn what it is they believe in.

Please remember negro was a harmless word up until a few years ago ( not talking about the n word, talking about the word negro, used to refer to the negro race). In India almost all people think of the word negro as a word for the word black use in the context of race. I promise you this. They meant no harm. In fact, if you did not react the way you did, I would not have thought that word negro would be so hurtful to black man. I felt the animosity immediately and from the cook, the waiter - its like they all went into south mode! I have seen other vlogs and how the Indians fawn over white people and the difference is shocking.
Maybe he tried flirting with one of their women or one of the local women flirted with him or hugged him, we don't know the full story. If the latter it's not his fault, but in Punjabi culture the woman is never at fault for cheating, it's the guy she cheats with who is at fault. It's kinda like the Albanian honor code, that the woman cannot cheat, only the guy who pursued her is guilty of cheating.

Lived in Singapore for a number of years and Indians living there were racist towards “Africans” commenting on skin colour, as I have Senegalese heritage, skin is black like fresh tarmac. Nepalese no issues from them but being a former soldier helped that as they were mostly from Gurkha regiment and know a few since serving Iraq and Afghanistan, they seem the world better than most. Won’t hold it against them as IDC about racism.

You can buy skin whitening kits from the pharmacies in India. They even ran TV adverts where a dark skinned Indian man couldn’t get promotion until he tried one of the kits, he then went for another promotion having become several shades whiter and got the job. I'm Indian myself and dark skinned and this is the reason why I hesitate to travel abroad, particularly in countries where the majority is light skinned
I understand bigotry and racism in India all too well, even among their own people. But, one word of advice for anyone heading into a foreign country. Unless you have distinct business in a foreign country, I don't care if it's Norway or Myanmar, if you don't speak the language, fluently, you're setting yourself up for a worse experience than you may have otherwise had. People are far more likely to have a more neutral, if not civil, approach when there isn't a language barrier. That's not always the case, but if you're fluent in their language and culture before you get to a place, you'll have a much easier time navigating the land AND the people. Despite their reservations, predilections, inherent dispositions or biases. Psychologically "most people" are less likely to challenge you if you can communicate with them on their terms. Consider that before taking that trip.
@@jackspratt7264 That's true however there are plenty of liberal places in countries, and more liberal (as in open, welcoming) countries where English is spoken by many. As ironic as it may seem for some now I'd argue come to Germany for example and the Rhineland region or Berlin where no one will likely care how you look or give you slack. Especially some areas being generally more tourist focused or friendly. Point being it helps to speak the language definitely, but I don't view it as such a hard requirement or strong suggestion in some places that are, I guess, used to international traffic or impacts and people. And to be fair for most tourists who do not intend to invest a lot of time into a culture, language and nation and intend to repeatedly visit, learning a language there fluently just for a potential impulsive one-time visit isn't feasible.
@@Unknown-ek1ox I disagree. It's the same with fighting. You may NEVER get into one in your entire life, but if you are versed in hand to hand combat and you should find yourself in that position, then at least you'd have a much better chance to defend yourself or even prevail than if you couldn't even throw a punch. It's the same with learning to swim or skill set like that. You may not have pools in your area or an ocean or swimming hole, but if you should ever find yourself in a position where swimming is the difference between living and dying, best to know the basics. Same with short trips and tourism.Learn the language, regardless of how "impractical" you may think it is. It will make everything more manageable and give you more of an equal footing in a place where everyone else can communicate with ease. Places are about the people, if I go to a place and I can't communicate with the people, what am I doing there?
@@jackspratt7264 Let me put it to you in my own view: I'm interested in visiting several places on this Earth before I might perish of old age (hopefully old age). Some of these include South Korea, Japan and maybe Ukraine. Maybe the US. And England again. US and England are covered, I speak English relatively fluently even if sometimes specific words slip from my mind but then I can usually find alternative descriptions. Then what is left? Ukraine, South Korea, Japan. All three places with distinct cultures and languages. As a European Ukraine hits home the most and I find their culture and hardships interesting enough that I could envision investing more into them and learning the language to a sufficient level. I could imagine travelling there a few more times than just once in my life. This is where I'm ready to invest. What is left is South Korea and Japan. Two unique interesting places I however just want to see or witness maybe once in my life and then maybe see if I want to invest more or not. It just wouldn't be feasible for me to learn three additional languages to a fluent level. One language alone takes many years and ideally repeated written or verbal interactions (or trainings) to get right. It's just not feasible for a lot of people to learn the language of all their travel destinations to a fluent level. At least not in any small time frame. Especially for one time visits or tries it's easier to try your luck with English if enough (even if not all) people speak it around more tourist friendly destinations. Again mind you I'm talking about impulsive or limited tourism, not moving there fully. It's ideal to know the language well, but again I think not feasible for all or everyone depending on their stay.
@@Unknown-ek1ox If you say so. But I maintain that the greatest sign of respect you can show a people whose nation you're visiting is that you took the time to learn how to talk to the people. Traveling isn't just about sight seeing. There are humans there that have cultivate the land and made a society. Even if you're going to only be there for a brief time or just once, having the ability to communicate not only helps you, but it makes it less difficult for the locals to interact with you. And these days, you can learn a language efficiently enough in one month's time for you to be conversational, at the very least, for free on your cell phone. To me, especially given the convenience that the internet provides in helping one learn a language quickly, there's really no excuse not to. To me going to a foreign country and not being able to speak to the locals is like going to a foreign country with no spending cash. You're automatically at a gross disadvantage. And it's only going to cause problems when that thing that you didn't equip yourself with ends up being a necessary component to your safety, comfort and ability to navigate the environment with purpose and ease. If you can't spend 4 weeks learning how to communicate wherever you're going then, I don't know what to say.

Sikh people can be racist too.

They were ill informed curious people trying to prove themselves to be very well informed about the world. 99% in India have no idea that negro is a bad word now. Please remember the n word is a racist word outright, as in the racist slur in the US, but negro really simple refers to the African race. I am an American who was born in India so know very well where they are coming from.

So flirting or hugging a woman makes Punjabi men racist? Stop excusing intolerance! @@ChagossianCheetah

@@jackspratt7264 Let me put it to you in my own view:
I'm interested in visiting several places on this Earth before I might perish of old age (hopefully old age).
Thats what happens when you set foot in uneducated society with more than 80% of people are illiterate....We east Asians faces racism too in India ... Anyways cheers mate....keep up your positive vibe and make more content
