Thank you, this is wonderful, and it gave me an idea. I'm second generation American and when my mom and dad's families came over from Europe, they could only bring what they could carry. There are some precious textile items that my grandmothers wove, crocheted or sewed and I was always worried about smaller pieces being lost. My grandmother and aunts worked in clothing factories when they got here and mom saved things from that time. Putting them in a themed junk journal will be a great way to keep everything together, especially when I use pages from the old German and Hungarian crafting magazines and books.
I love this idea using paper patterns, I have a whole old luggage case full of these patterns, my mum used to do lots of sewing and making clothes, now I can bring these patterns to life again in honour of my mum.
Hello. The blue paper is tracing paper for tracing a pattern onto fabric. I have some in red, yellow, white and the blue I love making sewing journals. There is so much authentic notions you can use to decorate. I'm obsessed with laces, ricrac, bias binding and much more
This video just showed up on my suggestions. So glad it did as I have loads of patterns, fabric, work baskets magazines, and embroidery patterns. Love all of these. Thanx for sharing and ideas. 🥰😁😊
I love this idea. I'm making my 85 year old mother a junk journal & I will be adding pattern elements for sure. Especially love your fussy cut paper pattern dolls. Thanks for sharing
Your journals are awesome! I just love them, nothing wrong with going down memory lane, great memories. Those patterns brought back many memories for me too, I use to make most of my own clothes. Your video just showed up on my feed, such a delight! I love how you made pockets using the actual pattern. You are so talented!!!
Your channel popped up on my TH-cam feed. I wish it had showed up last Friday. A woman in my sewing guild put a box of vintage sewing patterns on the "free" table. Being polite, I only picked up three patterns to use the pattern papers in my junk journal. NOW I know better thanks to your creative use of making covers and using all parts of the pattern. I see a box of joy instead of a box of old dusty stuff!
I love these! I have some really old patterns that I’d love to use. We just moved though so it will be a while before I can get to it. They’re so pretty ❤
No, Please only do this to patterns that are unusable ~ I'm a collector and this is an awful thing to do! Some are so hard to find. I have one I've been looking for, for over ten years now. Someone outbid me on it last minute for $120 on eBay. I've never seen it again. These are worth much more as they are.

I haven't noticed any imperfections in your journals. Maybe because they contribute to making the journals unique? 😍
That is so sweet of you to say. I love creating junk journals because any imperfections can be reworked.
❤
Thanks!
👍🤗❤️
Thank you!
How are the pages fastened together?
You were trying to say "carbon paper".
Yes! That’s what I was trying to say!
The blue paper is called carbon paper.
