Been waiting for a video like this. How can you advertise your exact style and still have good profits, clearly you can, but at some point some players will get wise.
19:11 Big bet on turn was kinda bad. If you knew Villain was sticky and had a hand that beats yours at showdown and draws to the nuts, why would you put money in the pot? Not to mention the river. The flop check was fine, the turn bet did all the equity denial it could, but the river bet was completely unnecessary. By the time you realize you missed your draw, the reality should set in. Villain is sticky, but they're sticky *in all the right ways*. You could've spared yourself those blinds by check folding the river. It's a single raised pot, it got bloated on the turn, and the equity missed. Adding more chips to the pot is lighting your stack on fire.
I mean… that is the kind of the crux as to why GTO-based poker education is so favored by your competitors. The information you are sharing becomes much less effective the more popular it gets, but you also need the social proof of popularity to justify your credibility as a poker educator. It’s a Catch-22.
nah, hard disagree. the “defaults” aren’t the important thing i try to teach, it’s the thought process behind them. if you understand the why, you can build the strategy that exploits anyone.
Hey Marc, I'm just wondering about the last hand(842sKss9f) where you have AA. I really like your original double blockbet line targeting the pocket pair region even of a Pro-Villain range. I don't get the point of a turn overbet here. Would much rather check. Yes, we are getting more value from Kx. Sure. But this is not the main bulk of hands of Villains Range. From a combinatoric point of view, he has way more combos of 33, 55, 66, 77, 99, TT, JJ then the few Kx in comparison. We're very likely not getting any money from this region when bombing the turn. Also, a Pro-Villain is uncapped. Every set possible in an overall very small Range. With an overbet, we're doing this part of his range a big favor. Additionally, his Kx-spade combos still have a bunch of equity against us, which makes the overbet still better, but not hugely better then the block against this specific part of his range. Charlie also criticized a pretty similar spot you played. His arguments were the same like yours here. Just wanted to ask, if I'm maybe off here because two very good players finding the same solutions and I would do a different line. Anyway, long text. 😅Ty for the video! 🙏
good question. even if he has a lot more 33, 55-99 etc… if he has all the ako and kxss, winning a TON from those hands is higher ev strat than winning one more tiny bet from all those other hands
Your strategy has been helping my game so much. I play 1/3 in Texas so luckily players are agro. Makes it easy to play moderately tight and bluff sometimes when I miss and get paid when it hits. I’m averaging $50/hr on about 12hrs a week.

Nice thinking, Goone and I can tell this is just the tip of the iceberg. This is all dependent on the player type and their VPIP/PFR, AF , and their Poker IQ, naturally.
