    players who limp raise
    - tighter isoraise
    - more overlimp, eg 66 ip
    - overfold vs limp/raise
    - 3bet wider (they lack 4bets)
    players who limp call
    - isor wider, eg 65s ip
    - overfold vs their (larger) opens
    players who coldcall 3bets
    - put them on good but not premium type hands, eg JJ, KQs
    - 4bet wider
    - overfold vs their cold4bets
players who fastplay value and are passive with draws
    - use overbets on blankish next street
    - use 40%-ish bet size on draw completing card
    - fastplay nuts vs their aggression
    players who love to trap
    - use smaller sizes, bc they can wake up with a strong hand
    - exploit their early street aggression
    - let them bluff and call strong hands
    - re-bluff w/ weak hands
player who are aggressive w/ value and draws
    - they are capped on draw completing cards if they just called previous street
    - let them bluff
players who split their (cbet) sizes
    - huge(r) strong -> fast play strong hands
    - small(er) weaker -> semi-bluff-raise draws (which benefit from fold equity)
players who cbet strong hands and xb weak
    - fast play vs cbet
    - if xb
    - blank: slow play strong hands, maybe they bluff now
    - draw complete: bet
    players who donk for value
    - over size w/ nuts
    - attack checks, eg via triple barrel
    players who donk river bluffs
    - attack via min-clicks
    players who under bluff rivers
    - lead w/ strong value hand
    - do not bluff catch

that's where a HUD is massively helpful, especially at microstakes where there's such a wide variety of fish all using different but terribly exploitable strategies.

As a live player, where a HUD is not a thing, this is where paying close attention to hands you are not in is essential. You WILL see players make these mistakes in hands you are not in if you are paying close attention.

One thing i realized about Marc’s videos is that almost every situation in poker can be explained with the same flop J92 two tone. As long as there is a nutted top set and a flush draw/straight draw. All hands can be categorized in binary scenario at its core but we naturally assume poker is more complicated than that.

Hey like the content, just a tip from a viewers POV it would help to categorize the player types into clear sections of the video with a clear name and then you could delve into longer descriptions of what's going on in the hand. It can be difficult to follow what kinda player we are talking about depending on the viewers skill level.

Just played 15 hours of 1-3 at the Venetian last weekend. I played this way and ended up +$300 for the trip. One thing I saw was A LOT of limp/calling to my $12 open. Any suggestions for playing against 4 callers to my open raises? I heard you in my head saying “bet small so they call with their week s-t, and raise their weak s-t.”, but I got the same 4 callers to the 1/2 pot bets.

  • @sanderbrouwer91
    @sanderbrouwer91 หลายเดือนก่อน

I won some of my biggest pots calling AA, KK or AKs against an open raise with a very aggressive squeezer in the blinds. I could see that be profitable as cold call vs an aggressive open raise too.
PS that is not my default strat and will only use this when I have a specific read.

Hey Marc, what are your thoughts on straddles? In my games they allow a button straddle with ultimate last action. Is it a good idea to straddle for the final action in a game where they limp call a wide range to potentially put on a squeeze play? If so what sizing are you raising to with a $5 button straddle? (Game is 1/2 but standard open is to 10-20, straddle is regularly on)

    • @hungryhorsepoker

@@Lyqu1dif it’s an actual rake (taken only if there is a flop) it seems like a button straddle would be even better for you when you get actual “last action” because it gives you an even better chance to take down the pot preflop with no rake coming out.
