@@FoxSlyme It depends on what you count as pegs. You are correct that 416 pegs were hit but hitting bombs also count towards the corn but not to damage so it's really up to your definition of "pegs"
The statue upgrade is TECHNICALLY a good deal. One upgrade for 15, then leaving for 5, is a 20 cost upgrade. One for 15, one for 20, then leaving for 10, is two upgrades for 45, which is 22.5 each, which is slightly better than doing it normally. Plus it happens in one floor, where normally getting two in one is 25 and 35. I sometimes have to give myself this pep talk when I get scared by the cost of leaving. It is worth it up to two!
23:55 Unfortunately, nothing happens if you get all of them in one run, because A. you're not intended to, as each chess piece is locked to a specific class and B. there's only 3 out of 6 chess pieces
4:04 Bats can actually see just fine. They have pretty good eyes that help them see in the dark. They get that reputation from what looks like erratic flight and the use of echolocation to aid in finding food (instead of relying purely on sight).
"Can something invisible can go blind?" Realistically, if someone could become invisible, since light couldn't go through their eyes, then yes, they would be blind.
FUN FACT : There are no blind bat species. Not a one. Most have Better low-light vision than humans could hope to have, they just use Echolocation for food location ( And to augment their vision while zipping around in the dark
an interesting thing about the chain is now that it has 2 direction shots you really only have 2 choices on where to shoot them so making it 3 options instead of 4 for angles to shoot would actually make it stronger. a very interesting example of how lowering stats can buff things sometimes
22:37 Haven’t you seen the videos of the mirrors reflecting things that are hidden behind a piece of paper, like an egg? The mirrors see too much, we must blind them before it’s too late!
14:25 I believe the Go for the Icircle does actually pierce vines before it pierces it's first peg, Icircle does the same, Concetrication and Necorbmancer also ignore vines, as does Poltorbgeist when traveling upward, which did happen later in that fight. (I might have forgotten one, but generally pierce effects ignore vines)
15:12 Yup, and Poltorbgeist is not the only orb that can break vines either. I'm sure you can figure them out. Getting one of those orbs is usually a game changer for the Leshy fight.
Tyler, what's been your favourite moment while pegging so far? My favourite moment is when you decided to duplicate all of your orbs at an event while you had the Anvil while at low HP.
Constricting chains is never good IMO lol You might get your run to level 3, but the upside down elite is pretty much a guaranteed run ender. Your second orb is shot straight into the pit, and out of the two directions your other shot can go, neither is sufficiently upward to hit more then like 5 pegs before crashing back down. Never mind, I take that back! I never considered that taking both the bad boss relics, that it actually becomes good! That's amazing!
I just found something out (although I'm not fully sure if it's true). If you look at 24:25, you can see that Tyler is getting coins from his shot. But before the balls fall down, the game gives him his coins. That means that the game preplans how a shot will go before it is finished.
Has anyone else noticed that the angles that constricting chains makes you shoot at is initally formed from where you cursor is when you start aiming a shot?
The coin is actually good now, and you should take it next time you get the chance. I will explain how it changed so stop reading to avoid spoilers. So now there are two slots that are 2X damage, two that are 1X damage, and 1 that is 0.5X damage, meaning if all your shots landed randomly your average damage would be 30% more. But more importantly, every time the ball falls in a hole it multiplies shot damage by that amount, so if you have multi-ball and 3 balls land in 2x, that is 8x damage. In other words, you get exponential damage scaling with the coin and multi-ball. The formula for average damage if all shots are random is (shot damage) x 1.3 ^ (# of balls). So a 300 damage shot with 5 balls would have an expected average damage of over 1100 damage. Obviously there is no X1.3 multiplier so that is a formula for average. Realistically the damage is likely to be way higher hitting multiple 2X slots, cause your shots are not random and you can give a bias towards better slots. And the pie slice still protects you from the crappy 0.5 slot. I believe the fire was moved to a 1X slot to balance the pie.
You're actually wrong and it is still bad for a very simple reason. For most regular enemies you can 1-shot them, so there is no damage boost only losses. This gives regular enemies more chances to get closer and ranged ones more chances to attack. But what is even worse is the law of averages doesn't really matter, you can get multiple .5x in a row entirely based on luck and board design as you need to refresh. The board design can also make it so you're doing effectively 0x damage with multiball. 30% damage over an extremely long period of time isn't practical when you're losing in bursts which can end your entire run. You can realistically expect multiple .5x in a row a few times a run. Unless you're so overpowered the .5x doesn't matter this still isn't good and is crippling against some bosses which have minions. It is a trap.
Ladies and gentlemen, thanks to a new update, "constricting chains" multiple choice questions have all been converted to true or false questions, and Tyler couldn’t be happier, as I would be too. "Kids these days just want descisions to be made for them and to reap the benefits anyways, gonna ruin this world." -That one local old cranky man.
Making this comment before watching the video so i might be repeating previously stated thoughts, but while constricting chains are good, they are not fun. It makes the game less about strategy and more about seeing big numbers, which while big numbers are fun, feeling so limited isn't.
Wait doesn't that mean the confusion mask and the chains combo really well? Essentially partially cancelling each other out and just leaving their boons? EDIT: Oh you got both, nice~!
I still don't love Constricting Chains. I feel like most of what makes Peglin fun and unique as a roguelike deckbuilder is the skill expression in terms of your aiming, which Constricting Chains gets rid of almost entirely. Since it fires in the opposite direction now, there are literally only two choices for where to shoot. I think it would be a lot better while still retaining the spirit of the relic if each "direction" you could aim was actually a small arc rather than just one angle, maybe like 22.5 degrees. You could mess with the numbers, but that way it would still heavily restrict your shots (only a quarter of the circle would be available), while encouraging creative shots rather than just guesswork. It would definitely make Constricting Chains much less annoying to use, especially for navigation, and I still don't think it would be unbalanced because it's honestly still quite weak.
Hey Tyler, any chance you'll go back to Bloons soon? ... No, not BTD6. There's a new Bloons game that's a strategy card game, kind of like Slay the Spire (as a blanket-cover comparison). Might be more up your alley.
I'm starting to think there's too many orbs or relics with multiball now, it appears every run or so, I don't think multiball is a bad thing I just wish there was more creativity.
