Pull an uno reverse card. Walk outside fully, walk towards them, fully engaged. Immediately cut them off and speak over them with your own counter sales pitch, and aggressively provide literature on some bogus crypto project, NFTs, or something religious. Follow them to their car, tap on their window until they drive away. Don't try to argue or answer any questions. Meet their energy precisely. Fight fire with fire.

This whole thing reminds me of when my mom taught my girl scout troop about door-to-door cookie sales. She asked us, "What do you do if someone doesn't answer the door or says they aren't interested?" and we were all like Keep ringing the doorbell! Tell them about our sales prizes!! and she waited for us to settle down, made sure we were listening, and said, "If someone doesn't come to the door, you leave. If someone says no thank you, you thank them for their time and you head to the next house." Wish these guys had my mom to teach them a thing or two lol

I won't say what company, but I worked for a door to door sales company that had taught me a slew of tactics to sell things to people. One of them was "Congratulating the woman of the house for being able to make a decision by herself", telling her "her husband would be so proud of how she was able to make that decision." @@zachsdoodles5728 I am in Seattle and we get door 2 door pest control every 2-3 days, and its not just my area its everyone I know. The problem is that they recruit people form states like Ohio, ship them out to WA state and send the out but it's so over worked by Door 2Door that there is no money left to be made so the door 2 door guys become super super aggressive and the home owners who deal with this every 2-3 days get ultra aggressive back, its all just a real shit show. My manager at work even got in to a fist fight, its that bad. All becasue of the people recruiting them in other states. The last guy I talked to said he was from Michigan the guy before was from Ohio. I tell them, this area is totally over worked there is no sales left to be made, you were scammed to come out here, but they ignore what I say.

The real sham is how they recruit you. Taking these young college kids promising them "hard work" "opportunities" to make the money they know students are in desperate need of. Then after they have you sign up they SEND YOU TO ANOTHER STATE where they control your housing and it's much harder to leave. The truth is very few of the salesman managed to get the numbers they claim when recruiting so they end up being able to pay you less than minimum wage to work insane hours. All under the guise of hustle, it's absolutely insane. As these young people get more and more calloused and desperate, they become less and less respectful.

I once entertained a door to door salesperson. My wife and I had been talking about getting a home security system and this young woman showed up selling just such a product. So I said let's hear her out. Shortly after she began the sales pitch she told us that she had to call her boss just so they know where she is for safety reasons. About 5 minutes later her boss shows up at the door, this big lummox of a man, and comes in guns blazing with the high pressure sales shit. Talking about how they have this great sale that ends today and I'm like thats cool but i want to do some research and comes back with you need to decide in the next 90 minutes or the promo is gone forever and I'm like okay time for you to go. At that point I think he panics because he blurts out "do you know how much crime is in your neighbourhood? Someone will rob you!" And I'm just like well if I do I'm telling to cops you did it, now get the fuck out.
    Never again.

What really sucks is that people always expect that I'm some sort of salesperson since I'm in attire that matches my company, and they refuse to even come to the door or tell me to go away without me being able to say anything. It is a terrible standard these door to door people are setting, because it sets an expectation for people to not answer to any sort of person from a company at their door. I used to be a cold call salesman for a business phone, It was awful, seeing peoples faces go from smiles to frowns just by walking in. I was never the type to be really pushy and it made me super uncomfortable. I ended up making my first sale and didn't feel the spark at all. I quit the next day. After I quit, my boss told me it was because I didn't try hard enough, just such a sickening culture.

I was unintentionally in door to door sales. The position was labled as "Field Marketing" and the interview sounded like promoting the company was what we would do. First day of training, they tell me and my class that we go door to door "canvassing" home owners on our solar system. It was essentially selling without doing it yourself. Instead, you set the homeowner up with a future appointment to send the actual sales person.I learned it after a month and left a month after that when a police officer stopped me. I was desperate, so I tried to make this job work. When the reality settled in, I couldn't take it morally and quit. The actual office was also full of rampant misogynists who cared for nothing but the money they made ripping off home owners. It will always remain the job Im most ashamed of being in (even if it was only 2 months).

Yeah I took a sales job that was advertised as established business to business sales. I was under the impression I would be selling to people that wanted our services, turned out to be cold sales in person and quit as soon as I figured this out (so like 4 hours into my first day when they where like "okay so you'll be going out and shadowing so-and-so today" and shadowing just ended up being following him around making cold calls). But yeah the office was just filled with a bunch of sales bros bragging about who was the most aggressive sales person was and the boss was just from 25 year old frat bro with a large trust fund playing bossman. They did make legit sales and sold legit services, but they way they went about it was so gross I was definitely not gonna be successful there.

Honestly, I take the shadowing someone as "training" as a red flag on its own. It's absolutely NOT a random employee's job to "train" you, that's what the useless supers are for. And when literally every possible issue doesn't come up in the 30 mins you're expected to absorb everything, that's somehow your fault???
Guess I'm just not cut out for retail! ...And neither were the rest of the flood of people that kept quitting because "nobody wants to work these days". Yep, THAT'S the problem here. Sure.

This video really hit home for me, I had a guy try to sell me Vivint security. He walked from the road and sat down on my porch swing with me. This caught me so off guard that it left me flustered enough to reluctantly have a conversation. Even after telling the guy NO five or six times he was so persistent, asking me invasive questions and being very entitled, until I finally just told him to go away and he was incredibly rude when I did this. I have since put no soliciting signs on my house and I pray this never happens again.
This type of predatory salesmanship is absolutely horrible.

A big part of my job is sales, one of my coworkers used to work in a 100% commission sales job. He told me that when you work in a job like that, it warps the way you think ab shit like this. Like, you get used to pushing as far as you can bc occasionally you get those sales after pushing 4-5 times. He said a low point for him was when he sold an entire stereo to a deaf woman so she could “feel the bass”. Unfortunately jobs like these can really blur the lines between what’s acceptable and what’s not when it’s your only source of income and you’re desperate

I reached high school levels of social anxiety in just a few hours because it felt bad to interrupt people unsolicited. I appreciate the amount of detail and humor that goes into these kinds of videos.
I went in for an “interview” for one of these places back in the day, and it was the scummiest shit, they talked about going into nice areas and just casually having a conversation with people. They got us to meet up at a coffee shop to discuss “strategies”, one guy mentioned how he just wore glasses and carried a clipboard and a fake badge to “seem official”. I got up, asked the clerk to call me a cab and waited on the other side while they indoctrinated the other poor souls. They were talking about the place they were going, saying how it was all people looking to buy “green energy” and I knew the place, they went to this fucking old age community with people who barely spoke any english.
When idubs say these people are scum, that barely even scratches the surface. All this “take no for an answer” is honestly a front for what they really do to manipulate people.
What I learned from that, don’t let them anywhere near you, don’t talk to them, don’t interact with them, and if the claim to be any made up position like the one guy (I’m kind of like the route coordinator”, to get you to “sign” something to show you’re not signing up with their service (yeah they do this lmao) and for some reason that was enough confirmation to enter them in this shitty contract.
Idk if they still do the sign thing but yeah they’re worst of the worst and honestly the people who are “motivated” to do it deserve to get those threats of guns. xD
