He should have stopped performing if not for just a year or would have done wonders for his mind and his health because he had been constantly performing since he was like 18 nonstop because his managers and everyone treated him like he was a machine instead of a person and they had him on medication to put him to sleep at night and get him going in tje morning amd keep him going thrueout the day and I mean he was just used and abused in sooo many ways and it's sad

In the book, "Revelations of the Memphis Mafia," Elvis' cousin, Billy Smith tells a story where Elvis was near comatose, not speaking but he had a show the next night somewhere, and they have IV's in him and are trying to get him around. The next night he still hasn't said a word, and he's at least moving around somewhat now, and its near showtime, and no one thinks the show will happen, and Elvis looks at Billy and says, " you didn't think I would make it did you? " And Billy said he gave a great show.

I say this: There's Elvis Presley then there's everybody else, There's Bruce Lee then there's everybody else, There's Michael Jordan then there's everybody else. Elvis Presley stands alone as being the best singer of all times, he had everything, the voice, the looks, the charisma, the personality, and most important of all, he had a heart of gold that he gave and gave to everybody that is in need. He was raised by good parents with love for all people and love for God. He stood up for his beliefs. He never forgot what it was like to be poor and hungry. I pray Elvis is with his brother that was lost at birth and his parents in paradise. He is still mourned by so many who still love him after all these years. Elvis was a true gift to this world. I want to thank you for playing Elvis songs, and the kind way you show respect for him , that means so much to me and I’m sure it does for everyone else who loves him unconditionally, he was one in a million person, we believed in him and he didn’t disappoint us with his music or any other way , we just didn’t get to keep him long enough, but he was tired and needed rest, and I really believe he’s in a better place, RIP Dear Elvis, we all still love you and always will, I’ve been a loyal fan for 63 years, and again thank you 🙏 for what you are doing and the kind words you say, on the phone Unchained melody song you played of him, I liked the way twice you said Come on Elvis. Thanks .

This was the first time he performed the song live and nailed it. To just bust out a new song like that. Just wow! Such a powerful performance and presence this man had! Not many people have had a presence like that where generations later people can look back and feel what those felt at the time. Most young people look back at old stars and don’t get what people back then got. But you don’t need to watch much of Elvis to understand how special he was and it translates over to all generations! The charisma, the flamboyant over the top style, the energy, the entertainment, the talent. One of a kind!

He was successful at everything he did, 32 movies. Whatever clothes he wore, hair style he had it became fashion that every guy tried to copy.. He was the MAN. And all these years after he left this world... He's still makings millions..still been in the charts.. People come from all over the world to visit his home. What an amazing man.. Sick. Tired. Disillusioned. Feeling betrayed. Broken hearted. And yet...somehow, from somewhere he summons every ounce of whatever he has left and leaves it out there on the stage for all to see. Gut wrenching, and awe inspiring, at the same time.
Elvis, like all of us, was flawed. Just another example of a too much, too soon life where the excess eventually drained the battery. But it takes a lot of courage, and love for your fans, to go out there on a stage and perform when you know you don't look and feel well. In the end, the fans loved him back even more, and forgave him when he had off nights (and he had many in the last couple of years). But even during this difficult period, when he was "on", his performance could move your soul. Not many like him before, now or ever.

He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. Awesome reaction.
