This was so hard to watch. To know and see his lifetime of performances all rolled into this performance, his last live performance before he left this world. That man was truly a one of a kind all around loving, caring, generous, beautiful soul who just wanted everyone to love and care as he did and make a difference in this world! God Bless you Elvis Presley!!!
Real men cry. Fake men don't cry. Never apologize for having a heart. That's how God meant all men to be. I'm not sure you knew Elvis died only weeks after this final performance. I remember the day he died, and this performance still makes me cry all those years later.
The Righteous Brothers Bobby Hatfield Made it famous in 1965 but Elvis put his Beautiful Spin on it, That man could sing ANYTHING and make it BEAUTIFUL...
I hope you never let anyone tell you that tears are a sign of weakness. The ability to feel deeply, to have great compassion, great empathy ...it's a truly profound gift.
This is not an old Elvis. This is a 42-year-old, very sick and drugged Elvis. Some weeks after that, he passed away. I remember the day of his death like it was yesterday. To that day, I have never been as devastated as on August 16, 1977. I have been mourning for years. I still miss him. He made this world a better place.
I remember the day.....horrible. Announcements posted on loud speaker in malls ....women passing out in the mall...I was 9 and in shock. Elvis was A BIG deal....and ESPECIALLY in the South.
Elvis was only in his 40’s, and he was dying-he was so so sick. Drugs were actually ruled out as a cause of death-he truly was extremely ill, but my god what a performance. This brings me to tears every time.
I've cried to this song lots of times, but this time I cried because of your reaction to this moment. It was just six weeks before he past away. He was really sick, but his voice never failed him. It's powerful. He would have been 88 years of age yesterday. The sky took him too soon. I've seen his poor daughter Lisa Marie make a little speech for his birthday outside of what was their home, Graceland. Lisa lost her father at only nine years old and it's just the saddest tragedy. Elvis never believed he would be remembered and struggled a lot with that. We can only hope he knows how much he affected this world after he left. Discovering and watching Elvis, learning about him today, is keeping this man and his gift alive. I listened to Elvis back in high school, but it's only this past year at age 26 I got into his life story and went down the same road you are walking right now. Honoured to share this journey. Incredibly genuine reactions.

YES. Anyone who is a fan of Elvis Presley can’t help but have tears watching this. The clock was running out. You can see him struggling at times to breath but there is that voice. Always that voice.
I’m 57-year-old male and was always told men don’t cry but this performance gets me every time. It just hits my heart and soul like nothing else. I’m so happy it’s not just me. Thanks for sharing that video Pzo
Your reaction to this touched me. Elvis was something truly special. A man that was generous with his love, as well as his money. This man will never be forgotten

Love your reaction to this beautiful touching song that brings tears to all of us that loved him unconditionally. He was the greatest most real man with ungodly amounts of talents and big ol' heart to go with it. ♡
This performance was just six weeks before he died and was extremely ill and in a lot of pain too. But he still poured his heart out with his incredible voice. Once you know and understand what Elvis was going through at the time he did this concert you can't help but feel very emotional when watching it. But I thank Elvis for what he gave the world Never to be equaled He is the greatest of all time
My brother, I’m 53 years old, and I’m not ashamed that this man’s voice, passion and soul has left me speechless, in awe, and in tears throughout my lifetime. He is the greatest we’ve ever seen, and may not see again. Great reaction. I’m so glad our younger generation is rediscovering Elvis. Enjoy your journey, my friend. It’s going to. E great. If you want to hear some more of Elvis at the piano, I would suggest 1967’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. My favorite version is take one. That is Elvis on the piano. This song is what led up to Elvis rediscovering his passion for music. We know what happened in 1968. And, the rest is history. Elvis also played piano on some of his 1971 Nashville Sessions. I love the undubbed versions and various takes. Check out “It’s Still Here” and “I Will Be True”. Just Elvis playing the piano and singing his heart out.
A dying man with his piano before a stunned band and audience. Elvis brought us energy, fun, joy and in the end left us in tears with this performance. Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea To the open arms of the sea Lonely rivers cry, wait for me, wait for me I'll be coming home, wait for me
Rest in Peace Elvis ❤ you gave it all until the very end. You were sick during this performance but you never wanted to fail your audience… God broke the mould after he made you. One of a kind and can never be copied xx
You are so right when you said he lived for this . He loved performing for his fans ha was a master of the stage . Sadly he he also died from this , he performed so much like every other night despite terrible health and life style . Outside a body that was giving out on him , but inside his one of a kind powerful voice still remained .
Elvis was the greatest I think he died 6 weeks after this performance he was only 42 years old but they won't be but one Elvis and he is the greatest thank you for this video
I remember watching this concert on tv after Elvis passed away. I was 14. It was on CBS back then. Elvis was 42. This was 6 weeks before Elvis passed away. His voice never failed. It just got better and better as he got older. I can only imagine what he would be like now. I cried through the whole concert 😭. 💔🌹
Same here, Kimberly (except I was almost 11). I remember the day he died thinking I'd like to write a fan letter. My family was out running errands & when we got home, we turned on the radio which was breaking the news of his death. I was crushed and inconsolable for a long time.
I feel you, bro. It's hard to watch. This poor man was already actively dying. 42 years old. So damn sad. This version gets me every time. It's my parent's song and I imagine my mother singing it to my dad who passed a week after their 40th anniversary.
I don't think that there is one song Elvis couldn't sing and give it his own touch. Every song he sang sounded like it was his own song. The power and emotion he puts in every song, makes it his own. It feels like they were all written for him. The way he sings this song and adds a personal touch to it is over whelming. So far, no one can match him.
Greatest till the end. Been watching this concert over 35 years and it still brings tears. There is nothing sadder than this performance except for long black limousine his funeral procession. Give it a look. It shows how much Elvis meant to his fans and to the world. Thanks for a great reaction and thanks for keeping Elvis alive. He was truly amazing
The Righteous Brothers were the original artists. Elvis did cover it, obviously lol, and included it on one of his albums. I was fortunate to see him in concert twice. His presence made everyone feel like they were in the presence of Royalty. He was unbelievably incredible and TRULY the King.
In 1955, (10 years before The Righteous Brothers covered it) Les Baxter, Al Hibbler, & Roy Hamilton charted in the Billboard Top 10 and in The U.K. Al Hibbler, Les Baxter, Jimmy Young, & Liberace were simultaneously in the top 20 with it - a record for any song until 2014 when it was joined by Do They Know It’s Christmas?!
He was over 4 months constipated when he died, thats insane, the first person to experience such fame, like 80% off all records beeing sold around the world was Elvis records. Totally mind blowing, anyone would go crazy
He had so many medical problems and part of what was going on was he at times tried to medicate his symptoms to relieve his pain and suffering. Many times people have thought he was just using prescription drugs but he actually was trying to treat his problems independently of physicians at times. Yes, he had a addiction to a number of prescription drugs but the reason had to do with his multiple medical problems. And he kept a lot of it secret. Even his doctors half the time didn’t know what was going on with him. But I loved this guy, still do- he was so talented. So generous. So philanthropic. So one of a kind. He’s unmatched by anyone. It pains me to watch him struggle to breathe but he still delivers an exceptional performance here. But he leaves many of us in tears. Austin Butler weeps every time he has watched this performance.
This song brings tears to everybody... this was not his original song... but any time Elvis records a song, he puts his special touch and made it his song.... he was truly amazing artist ...
1:58 He's only three or four years older than a lot of the stuff you've reacted to from him, in Vegas and in Hawaii, but he had had some health issues and also they just had him on so many drugs by then, to put them to sleep to wake him up to get him to the show. And it's a shame they didn't really need to do that, but it's a highly controversial subject. But anyway, a lot of what you're seeing here he's not as lost as he sounds, he's a little bit high, but of course all that goes away whenever he starts singing, but I think he had just done a really strenuous number right before this and he was buying time to get his breath back, and a lot of that was meant kind of as humor, mostly within the band but to anyone in the audience that was familiar. And you notice it takes him awhile for his breathing to calm down but strangely, when he starts to hit the first really hard part in the song, vocally, suddenly breath is no longer an issue for him and he's got this incredible breath control and long phrasing with Incredible nuance. This is just weeks before he died, and it's just so poignant knowing what is about to happen, but everything I have seen from this show, and I don't think I've seen all of it but I've seen a whole bunch of it, to me just tells me that he was becoming more and more masterful of a singer literally right up until the day he died. His singing in this show to me is shockingly more advanced than it was with the stuff we see from 1973 in Hawaii just four years before. Blows me away.
It is such a touching performance, and then your reaction in turn made my allergies act up. Everything about it is great, and near the end he says hit me with it and the band starts edging in to provide this wonderful finish as he picks up his piano playing. Meanwhile he's almost turning into an opera singer for the final part of that song. It's such a poignant performance.
Meatloaf and Pavarotti have delivered spectacular tenor performances with their soul but Elvis is on another level. Nobody can touch that performance. He eclipses Michael Jackson and Prince as a stage artist. Simply put Elvis will always be the King.
Elvis, 47 anos depois, ainda consegue tocar o coração das pessoas. Quem diria que, pouco antes de morrer, ele questiona D.J.Sumner se os fãs esqueceriam dele.
Such a beautiful performance. Always makes me cry knowing this was his last. Even though he was ill he gave it his all, like always. Thank you for your reactions to him.

Hardly anyone these days knows how to shake an hand properly, not like the gentleman of days gone by.
I think this one has the vibe of crying as you could literally see he was on his way out of this world. He died just two months later. He'll always be one of my heroes.
This is even more moving knowing that this was Elvis final performance. He passed away a few weeks afterwards. His presence was amazing even though you could see how ill he was. There will never be another performer like Elvis
I was 17 when I saw him june9th, 1977, weeks before he passed. I cried through the whole 2 hr concert. Afterwards by chance, I got to go and meet him for about 1/2 an hour. It was in Omaha Ne.
Unchained Melody is a song that was first recorded in 1955 for the film "Unchained". It has been a hit numerous times and has been covered by over 500 different artists, including the Righteous Brothers, Elvis, and Angelina.
He was so sick here and swollen God Bless him He is the best. Yes he plays piano. He still gave 💯 for his fans. He passed two weeks later. Now go listen to American Trilogy again and you can hear the voice. I Love Elvis always a fan.
When we watch a new young person hear something truly grand for the first time - we feel it with you. And sweetie I promise you'll feel it again too. Every time. Check out the righteous brothers version of this (the one where singers wearing the pink suit - he's nervous because his mother and father are in the audience)
Poor E was so sick here and just a few weeks before his death..he gave his all to the end !!! I cry every time I watch him sing this...E is the GOAT, DONT CARE WHAT THE HATERS SAY !!!!! Great reaction young man ❤
Loved your reaction. Maybe the greatest song ever sung. Elvis only lived a few more weeks after this performance. He was the greatest. When he died, I was 6 years old and my neighbor told me in my driveway - it felt in the moment like all the stars in the sky fell that day. And, I still cry hearing this performance.
In addition to being overworked over the last years of his life - thanks to the requirements of the Vegas residency, and grueling tour schedule & contractual agreements for new releases, Elvis had a poor diet, sleep habits and was extremely over-medicated. Theories of hereditary issues that many fans claim have yet to be confirmed. In the last eight months alone that Elvis was alive, George Nichopoulos (Elvis's doctor since 1967) prescribed over 10,000 doses of amphetamines, barbiturates, narcotics, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, laxatives and hormones to the star. But the pills had been an issue since much earlier and eventually the cycle of addiction caught up and overwhelmed him. We continue to celebrate Elvis not only because of his great music and performances, but also because he was a generous, kind-hearted man who never forgot where he came from and deeply cared about others. That's the most important way to remember him.
Hearing him struggle hurts my heart. All the multiple illnesses he had in this part of his life was eye-opening. I read the book Destined to Die Young. It really makes me respect him more!
I think this performance is so touching because it puts us in touch with our mortality, the struggle against substance abuse, and the beauty of the human soul. There will never be anyone like him, or me, or you. It hurts to watch, and it exercises our emotions. What a beautiful, tragic thing.
I really like this song. I have heard the Righteous Brothers singing it. But when heard Elvis Presley sings it ,I cried. She sang this song 2months before he died. There was a spirit that comes from him when he sang this song, a spirit of love 💘and good bye. I cried when I heard him sing this song for the last time. Elvis, may you rest in peace ✌.
I cry everytime I watch this. It's amazing seeing it bring tears to your eyes and you didn't even know he died so soon afterwards. This was his last performance❤❤❤😢😢😢
Great reaction! This was 6 weeks before he passed and many think he shouldn’t have been made to go on tour with everything going on with him. Even when you know everything he was going through, his voice never faltered.

Love it , man!! I choke up almost EVERy time I see this! You are "gettin" Elvis...He IS the man!!
Unchained Melody is a song that was first recorded in 1955 for the film "Unchained". It has been a hit numerous times and has been covered by over 500 different artists, including the Righteous Brothers, Elvis, and Angelina.
Can't help but cry 😢 he kept his voice until the end..
This is one of my favorite songs ever . His voice was so beautiful..
Elvis was Pure emotion. His music was very deep inside but when it came out we felt what he sang.
Great reaction young man ❤
Despite EVERYTHING…Elvis was human. “I’m not a king, just a man…take my hand “.
6 weeks before he died........i cried 2
He was really struggling but when he starts singing he still kills it!!!
Elvis didn't write his own music, but dear god, that man owned every song he ever recorded...
This man’s soul was crying out to God
This was just 6 weeks before he passed away. This was sad but it also gave us his all until the end.
8 weeks
Elvis one of the Greatest ever I love him I miss him Great Empath ,I'm crying listening to this .♥️♥️♥️
Hearing him struggle hurts my heart. All the multiple illnesses he had in this part of his life was eye-opening. I read the book Destined to Die Young. It really makes me respect him more!
Must read book. I practically have the whole thing highlighted.
@@memphisflashfan1 really put it all into perspective. What he must have gone through.
My friend, that is the power of Elvis, it made me cry too and does every time. A legendary performer to the last song. RIP!
So real heart from Elvis fan...You have a good heart...Elvis would have loved you too...
He knew how sick he was and coming to an end but wanted to go out doing what he loved.
It was an emotional performance
Wow...I've never seen this performance...less than a month before his passing. Long LIVE the KING!!
No one can or could touch the hearts of the people so deep an easy with his voice like Elvis. One of a kind...
The righteous Brothers ft this song out in 1964 Elvis just recorded it in 76
I think this performance is so touching because it puts us in touch with our mortality, the struggle against substance abuse, and the beauty of the human soul.
Love you for showing this.
His last performance before he died. He could barely stand. I cry buckets everytime I watch it!!
Elvis music can make you feel every emotion, from tears to pure energy of joy.
