    I have never used watermarks as I never thought my pictures were good enough for someone to steal although my photography friends tell me I should be adding a watermark. I also think that if someone wants to steal my picture it would be easy enough to crop or edit out my watermark. Your tutorial makes it seem pretty easy to add a watermark so I may start adding to my pictures that I post on my travel blog. Thanks for your videos

  • @phlotographer
    @phlotographer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't do SM. I do sign every image I may send to someone or show images in the past on forums etc. Always signed a print that would be hung. As I am no longer a working pro, I don't mind if someone uses an image with my name on it but I generally will ask that the name remain on the image. One person that I had to inform of this simply agreed so it was not an issue. If I was still working and offering images from paid contracts, I likely would do other things. Nicely done tutorial with great reminders of something hopefully gets fixed in NEO -- the removal of edits when applying a Preset. I can understand the concept but a warning is easily programmed for those of us with short memories.

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor

    Thank You! This was exactly what I was looking for! Great video and explanation. BTW< Darlene, what I do is remove a slim area around the photo so basically a small crop this way I have the original with all the removed pixels and if someone ever stole one of them by having the missing pixels you can prove the photo is yours. If I use watermarks, mine are small and a bit faded so it does not alter the photo by much.

    I always watermark images I use on social media. This way when the post is shared, the photo is credited with my name. Clents have found me this way. Without using a watermark, the creator of a good image becomes nameless and lost forever. Lowering the size and resolution is not much insurance as there is software than can resize and enhance the image. I create a brush in Photoshop for my watermark for convenience.

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor

    I have a little bit different question. I've been using Luminar products for years, including Neo. The issue I'm having is this: I have a watermark that I had ordered from Photologo. So I don't have to mess around with curves and such when I apply it, HOWEVER, when I downsize it to fit where I want, the quality is degrading and the watermark becomes very pixelated. The watermark file size is 7500 X 5000 pixels and it is a PNG file. I have been in touch with tech support from both Skylum and Photologo (the Skylum person literally copied and pasted an answer that I had found online myself as to why this is happening), and I cannot get any help. Do you have any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening? Surely, I cannot be the only one that this is happening to. Thanks in advance!

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor

      Yes. I would suggest you add the logo to Luminar. Then export it in a smaller size like 1000 pixels, that should be good enough. Make sure to save it as a PNG with transparency. Then add that smaller one.
