    If you're new to Luminar Neo, or photo editing in general and are having trouble understanding the difference between the Erase and Clone tools, I've got you covered.
    The erase tool in Luminar Neo allows you to remove unwanted elements or areas from an image. It works like a digital eraser, where you can brush over the area you want to delete, and it will be replaced with the background or surrounding pixels.
    On the other hand, the clone tool is used to duplicate or replicate pixels from one part of an image to another. It lets you select a source area, usually by clicking and dragging, and then you can paint or clone that area onto another part of the image. This tool is commonly used to remove blemishes, duplicate objects, or fix imperfections by copying pixels from a similar area.

    Big help. You successfully pointed out all the mistakes I have made. And included why they didn’t work.
    Thanks for a great job

    I was working on an image last week where I got that uneven tone in the sky. The original image was a zoom on a bird. The powerlines in the background were soft and out of focus, but still lines in an otherwise even sky. After trying to clone them I still had a patchy tonal difference, just like when you did the first clone in the image with the lamppost in this video. The way you fixed it will hopefully work on mine.

      @DigitalPhotoMentor  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did you not try the automatic powerline removal inside the erase tool?

    • @TrishAnderson99
      @TrishAnderson99 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DigitalPhotoMentor yes I did. But they weren’t very defined lines because I’d zoomed in. Was probably on the extreme of my 70-300mm lense.. There were obvious streaks in the sky due to the tonal difference,but they were parallel lines with a different tone. I tried a sky replacement, but the bird was sitting on a bush and it didn’t deal with the outline of the bush very well. Have spent well,over an hour on this so far with minimal improvement. So far the only thing that has made it better was bringing up the highlights in the sky. It’s a bit bright for my liking but not blown out.

    the clone would be good to do a double exposure for a portrait.

    Hi
    The GENErase appear to work on simple selections. I am trying to remove a person from a group of people. This does not work. Instead of removing the person it replaced it with a weird image. The examples you and others have shown are very simple. Please explain how to carry out the above successfully. Thanks

      This video isn't about GenErase though it's the regular Erase tool. Have you tried that first?
