Thanks, probably not from me! Not really my thing. I do most of my composite making in Photoshop when I do though. I use Luminar Neo in my own workflow as a plugin.
Thanks for another really helpful tutorial! The backslash is a game changer. And the idea that the program will learn so perfection isn’t needed. Excellent!
I haven't got to try this out yet, actually I don't have these feature yet, I need to figure out how to upgrade. Great tutorial, this going to be a really useful feature. Thanks for sharing.
i'm the idiot who always throw the instructions along with the box and just use my experience to assemble the thing and have to double back and waste a ton of time and effort, and sometimes, break things in the process. thanks for this tutorial! Highly appreciate it!
Hi, regarding the plane background removal: if you duplicated the worked on layer then added the smoke, could you export one layer as plane alone, and the other as with smoke, please? I ask because at traction engine rallies sometimes black smoke is coming out of their stack and so that might make a good photo, but it would be nice if a the same picture of the smoking engine could appear without the smoke showing, please? Many thanks JB
@Digital Photo Mentor Thanks, Darlene. I managed the download of the background removal picture for a painting commission I'm doing. From the photo I couldn't see where her hair finished; thanks to your tutorials I found my client's hair was different than I expected. So it saved me what could have been a faux pas. 🎨👨🎨. Regards JB
@@mostafakamel6783 To remove the background you need the Background Removal Extension and to do Upscape you need to buy that one. You can buy them individually now if you just want those two, or if you want all the extensions I recommend the annual plan (PRO includes them all). If you get that you can use my discount code: DPM-NEO but they are not free. www.digitalphotomentor.com/
In Windows 10 the backslash key brings up the original image and nothing seems to happen when applying the brush. But when I go into Catalog view then it has applied the brush and then I go back into EDIT with the brush strokes applied. Very strange !!
I have a number of photo editing apps and they mostly all have their uses, though I like to work primarily in one where possible. Luminar seems to be going in the wrong direction for me, adding all these extensions that often just duplicate those in other apps I have. I cannot comment on whether the Luminar apps work better, but I don't see much difference in my work. This may make you laugh Darlene - but for day-to-day work I often go to Jasc Paintshop Pro v.9, which is what - 2 to 3 decades old! . . . . I just checked, it's OVER 30 years old! It fires up in no time and everything within it works fast and just fine. Not the case when I'm using one of the 2023 editing apps. ACDSee is another 'old' app that works fast and well.
@@DigitalPhotoMentor well, there are many TH-camrs here who don‘t know programs and Apps well enough but make videos that other people look and than make wrong decision, but your videos are just neutral and better…
@@volkerwehres5917 ah okay thanks so much. I have noticed that too. You can't teach something you don't know how to use so I make sure I'm doing it right first

Excellent tutorial Thanks Darlene!

Nice informations, right pace to see and understand. Backslash is very useful. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video - I will take a second look at this and see if I can get better results!
There you go. Yes, give it another try and let me know what results you get

Great tutorial as usual. Love the 4K btw. 👍
Glad to know you like that. Thanks for letting us know
Thanks Brandon, Rob has been exporting the large video so kudos go to him
What about the 4K do you like? How is it useful for you? Id love to know
@@RobCooper Pictures are crispier, sharper, and, most of all less eyestrain for me.
Excellent tutorial - good to know about the backslash option to see where you are painting - great tip!!
Thanks glad you liked that one
Super useful, Darlene. Clear and concise :)
Glad you think so! Thanks

You're most welcome. In this case there is no manual. Making it up as I go. You might like my Neo course too then

For people use the portrait background removal tool. I did a video on that as well
Can I remove the background also in luminar neo ?
Yes that's what I am demonstrating in this video

Thank you for this well explained tutorial (as the others indeed!). However the backslash key function doesn't work on Windows …...

As in you can't see the original image or the painting doesn't apply? I find if I close the refinements brush tab then reopen it that works
Try just closing the refinement brush only. That should work
OK, noted thanks. But it is not very intuitive ? I think the software is still buggy. Or is it just me ?
@@geoffdickinson79 I haven't had any issues. I find it more intuitive than many other programs. But that's me

Is it just me? Or when the dog first gets the background removed, the orange "object overlay" looks like a cat. There's a cat inside the dog lol
Ha very funny. Like a turducken
