It's an itemized deduction and the vast majority of Americans are better suited for the standard deduction. Unethical life hack: whenever you get fuel tell them you work at the same fuel station only say its in a different town. If they ask for a card just say your manager said you only need a store number. 10c per gallon off with an employee discount.

The one about parking at a university is so true. If you don't register your car don't pay a ticket. They can't track which student it is to threaten to stop your schooling if they don't know who it is. Granted, after $500 of tickets, they start to check. Teacher's assistant got screwed at a show we were running. 3 students got tickets cause no one told them we were going to be there all night so we parked by the door where we always do in the private lot. Well, he wasn't registered, but his license plate had about 25 or 30 tickets or something like that over the years starting back 6 years ago when he graduated our program. So they booted him. (It was after hours so he couldn't pay to take it off, so they had to take it off and he promised to pay the next morning. Never did. Screw overpriced college parking! whahaha!)
Depends on the size of the university. The university I attend have ACTUAL police officers and they have unrestricted access to NCIC (which is the database that officers use to look up license plates, drivers licenses, etc.)... Here is what they will do: They issue you a ticket based on whether you have a student account with your license plate registered. If you don't, then they will look the name of the owner of the vehicle up in NCIC, and will issue a ticket to that individual. If it's your parent, they will receive a ticket in the mail. If it's your name, then they will trace it to the same student name in their university database and just add it to your account.

Heres mine: I am used to sleeping in the bed of a pickup truck. With a shell, foam pads, lots of pillows and blankets it can be a cozy place to sleep for two people, and I still had room for luggage. I went to an anime convention 3 times in San Jose, CA, for 2 years I would camp out in my pickup truck a block away from the convention center in a parking garage. Well lit, and reasonably safe. When you walked out of the garage there was a nice park across from the convention center which made it convenient. When I pulled in on a Friday, I'd take the ticket to park, and on Memorial Day monday the parking attendant would have the day off and nobody would be there to collect, so the gate was left up. So I had a free place to sleep and park a block away from a major convention which otherwise would cost several hundred dollars. That worked for 2 of the 3 years, on the third year the parking attendant was replaced with a vending machine that took cash or credit and worked 24/7. Even with paying the all-day parking fee though it was still very cheap.

I worked at the book store in my university. Find out all the rules regarding returning books and due dates to do so. Look at your syllabi of your classes and see what chapters you will need, also, ask around if the professor actually used the book. If your professor will only use a small fraction from the books, buy or rent the book, scan the pages you will need, and return it before the due date. Also! You will be surprised how many books are offered for free online and at the library to borrow at campus or for checkout.
On the first one, you can also email the authors directly! Most of them receive little compensation for their work so it’s nice to appreciate their work

While backpacking In Australia a couple of my roommates realised that the store Woolworths in Sydney sold hot food. Rotisserie chicken and breaded chicken and stuff like that. A girl that I know was on exchange in Germany and was on the train without a ticket. She just pretended to not speak german or english and got away with it, I´ll totally try that. A couple of years ago, me and my friends found out that if you paid for a app on your apple id, you would be able to log in on multiple devices and download the app on it. Then after you did that you could just log out, and log in to the account that did not pay for the app. So we ended up buying like one game each and sharing it with each other.

Surprised no one talked about getting free upgrades on concert tickets. I live in the Philippines, but most of the bands I see/hear about where this is applicable are known worldwide. Anyway, when a concert doesn't sell all its seats, organizers would have people from the back move closer up front so the show would look full in videos. You just have to come early and usually the cheapest tickets. For example, in a U2 concert, my aunt and uncle got their $40 tickets upgraded to $360 ones.
Instead of paying for music, do the following: 1) find lyric video of song on TH-cam (with good audio quality) 2) screen record the video (with OBS, bandicam, etc.) 3) use bandicut, vlc, or a video editor to extract the mp3 file of the audio of the recording. If you don't register your car don't pay a ticket. They can't track which student it is to threaten to stop your schooling if they don't know who it is.

3 students got tickets cause no one told them we were going to be there all night so we parked by the door where we always do in the private lot.
Well, he wasn't registered, but his license plate had about 25 or 30 tickets or something like that over the years starting back 6 years ago when he graduated our program. So they booted him.

Depends on the size of the university. The university I attend have ACTUAL police officers and they have unrestricted access to NCIC (which is the database that officers use to look up license plates, drivers licenses, etc.)...
Here is what they will do:
They issue you a ticket based on whether you have a student account with your license plate registered. If you don't, then they will look the name of the owner of the vehicle up in NCIC, and will issue a ticket to that individual. If it's your parent, they will receive a ticket in the mail. If it's your name, then they will trace it to the same student name in their university database and just add it to your account.

I've put so much money into parking, not even just at the school but downtown when we are in the theatre the last 2 weeks of every semester, school I can deal with having to walk or paying $8 for a couple hours every once in a while but theatre is $10 a day, every day... But of course, the teachers have access to the lot connected.. Because letting the 3 or sometimes 4 students out of a whopping 6 of us park there is so unreasonable.

Heres mine: I am used to sleeping in the bed of a pickup truck. With a shell, foam pads, lots of pillows and blankets it can be a cozy place to sleep for two people, and I still had room for luggage. I went to an anime convention 3 times in San Jose, CA, for 2 years I would camp out in my pickup truck a block away from the convention center in a parking garage. Well lit, and reasonably safe. When you walked out of the garage there was a nice park across from the convention center which made it convenient. When I pulled in on a Friday, I'd take the ticket to park, and on Memorial Day monday the parking attendant would have the day off and nobody would be there to collect, so the gate was left up. So I had a free place to sleep and park a block away from a major convention which otherwise would cost several hundred dollars. That worked for 2 of the 3 years, on the third year the parking attendant was replaced with a vending machine that took cash or credit and worked 24/7. Even with paying the all-day parking fee though it was still very cheap.

I worked at the book store in my university. Find out all the rules regarding returning books and due dates to do so. Look at your syllabi of your classes and see what chapters you will need, also, ask around if the professor actually used the book. If your professor will only use a small fraction from the books, buy or rent the book, scan the pages you will need, and return it before the due date. Also! You will be surprised how many books are offered for free online and at the library to borrow at campus or for checkout.
On the first one, you can also email the authors directly! Most of them receive little compensation for their work so it’s nice to appreciate their work

I bought a game steering wheel. Used it for a couple months, then it collected dust for like a year. Grab something from the store, go to customer service to return it. They'll inform you that you can't return the item without a receipt, and you can walk out of there without drawing any suspicion.

As someone who works at dunks, if you ask for something for free I will literally not give it to you and will be like "sorry, can't" (which isn't a lie). However, if you intend to pay for a donut, I do give them out for free. If you ask for one, I throw an extra in there. Ask for two, charge you for one and give you three. Ask for a dozen, you're only paying for 2, none if you sound nice. I don't care. Some girl came in as I was doing the donut case (reorganizing it) and asked for a like a dozen brownie batter donuts. I was like sure, but she was telling me how she freezes them and then warms them up and such and they last a while. I gave her 20 donuts for the cost of 6. Wasn't even closing time. Wasn't even close to closing time. 9 times out of 10, the worker will not care. But don't ever, ever, ask for anything for free. Then we get petty lol.

My school every semester uploads an entire list of every single student's ID (digits) on their website so you could look for your classes for the semester. Each student also gets 7$ per semester on their ID which they can use to print at the library. While backpacking In Australia a couple of my roommates realised that the store Woolworths in Sydney sold hot food. Rotisserie chicken and breaded chicken and stuff like that. Thing is it’s bar code was stuck on and doesn’t have a weight value. So every now and then he’d get a few extra portions and bring us all food in the room. What he did t tell us is that he only paid for a fried every time, the 3 other fries and 5 portions of chicken were never scanned in self service and he’d just walk out having only spent around 3 dollars for about 30 dollars worth of food. Also, my hometown buslines have a cheaper childrens ticket that goes until 13 or 14, I look way younger than I am and always say, that I´ll be getting the childs ticket. Same bus company, usually the students have students tickets that last for the school year, they are only valid in our county and if you are in a different one, even if the bus goes to your county, you are not allowed to use it. A couple of years ago, me and my friends found out that if you paid for a app on your apple id, you would be able to log in on multiple devices and download the app on it. Then after you did that you could just log out, and log in to the account that did not pay for the app. So we ended up buying like one game each and sharing it with each other.

Surprised no one talked about getting free upgrades on concert tickets. I live in the Philippines, but most of the bands I see/hear about where this is applicable are known worldwide. Anyway, when a concert doesn't sell all its seats, organizers would have people from the back move closer up front so the show would look full in videos. You just have to come early and usually the cheapest tickets. For example, in a U2 concert, my aunt and uncle got their $40 tickets upgraded to $360 ones.
