I think you haven't a clue what reciprocate means. 36 children killed Oct 7, several of them by the IDF.
Over 12,000 Palestinian children killed since then, something like 50,000 maimed, untold numbers under rubble and orphaned, and a million children being starved, deprived of shelter, water, medical care, schooling, and steeped in terror and death 24/7 for months.
If that is reciprocal, so would be if a murderer in your town killed someone in the next town over, and so that town was allowed to kill thousands in your town, starve, maim, render you all homeless etc.
The law actually does allow for reciprocal self-defense. It doesn't allow for wholesale "allowed to do anything you want to". Israel has now gone entirely overboard and broken all the international laws it signed onto.
