  • I got the motorhome back from the mechanic and now the work begins. Have new mechanic who says he can actually fix the engine problem. According to him, it is not serious.

    I actually started laughing out loud when I
    read your title of this video...
    TODAY... I started working on a 1985 Fleetwood Pace Arrow
    It has the original couch... original carpet... original drapes/curtains...
    (are you getting the drift?) .... 34 years of the same drapes not being washed!!!
    I have a lot of work ahead of me!!! LOL ... Thank goodness this isn't my first FLIP...
    The last RV I redid... had been a meth lab and a male cat used as a cat box...
    Yes... It turned out great... after talking the walls and carpet out...

      I know your passion. I'm renovating a 1988 Fleetwood Southwind with everything original, and it sat for 8+ years. Fun stuff.

      This is my 25th RV to redo... but this one is the worst!!! It had been a meth house!!! And I swear a dog kennel too.
      I'm getting there! I am even painting the OUTSIDE... (my 3rd RV to hand paint!!!)
      They said it would cost me between $12,000. to $15,000. to have it painted professionally.
      One of the worst things is to CLEAN it beyond anything, because we all know that we can't Paint Dirt. LOL

    If you want your RV to glow with a beautiful shine, get some water based acrylic floor polish from Lowe's or Home Depot or other store and find some Zep High Gloss floor polish, Red Max Pro, Wet Look High Gloss floor sealant, or many others out there. They are basically the same thing as Poli-Glo RV Fiber glass restorer for a fraction of the cost.

      Thanks for the tip. I have actually bought some ZEP several months ago, but it has just been too hot for me to get motivated to clean the RV and then apply 6-7 coats of the ZEP. Maybe this fall when it starts to cool off a little.

    Next time what you should do is go to tire rack.com tire rack.com you could probably even save another 500 bucks on these tires and have your local dealership put them on and save some money

    • @dennislawrence9826
      @dennislawrence9826  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Robert, hopefully I will not need tires for a long time. The set cost me $1160 out the door, if I remember correctly, so I was pretty happy with that price. In the couple thousand miles I have put on them, so far they have done very well. Hope you enjoyed the video. This has been a fun project.

      Yes, I worked 5 hours yesterday
      and 7 hours today.... I made the agreement with the owner that I would pack up his stuff, since he gave me such a great deal...
      the 12 hours so far is just packing his stuff up and talking unnecessary things he had put in the RV...
      He said the Fuel filter needs changed etc...
      I was really dirty with dirt.. and the smell of 34 year old drapes, curtains and carpet really got to me.. I could NOT fine a way to remove the drapes!!!
      This is my 24th flip and I'm baffled how to remove the board above the windows and the drapes... So I cut them off for now... "Nasty" ... it was amazing how much cleaner the RV smelled after throwing all the old stuff out...
      I hope this is worth all the trouble I'm doing... I think so.. Hope so

      hello Kevin, I will be glad to take some pictures of what I have. Did you take off the large panel under the hood, for the main fuse box? See video update 25 or 12. They are all labeled under the panel or on the bus bar to the right side. A lot of my electrical problems were solved just by replacing a lot of fuses in this box.

    • @dennislawrence9826
      @dennislawrence9826  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sorry, I do not. What I had to do was measure the depth of the tank to then get one that was the right length. Since you will have the correct one when you take it out, it should be simple to have the parts store get the correct length. The one the mechanic had put in was about 3-4 inches too short. It would only work if you had half a tank of gas or more. I am sure you will have no problem getting the correct length. Good luck.
