Michel Legrand, who closely worked with Barbra Streisand, considered Regine one of his three music sisters alongside Streisand and Sarah Vaughn. He praised Regine and put her in her in the same place as Streisand because of her technical skills. It's actually amazing how you see the influence of Streisand in Regine because they have similar styles. :)
Also, there are only few artists who have such bright, metallic quality. Such a unique tone to be honest.

Oh my gosh..I love her tone and control and her belting is out of this world…what makes it so insane is her chest mix voice and head voice…she is phenomenal by switching it magically…effortless galore! Other singers would sing this giving it all..but regine is just no effort ..She indeed reminds me of Barbara Streisand is diva of all the divas…

Regine's music was influenced by her most revered idol, Barbara Streisand. She's her musical inspiration. She has been vocal with that. She had a concert entitled Songbird Sings Streisand. Regine is known as the Asia's Songbird.

Hi @Grant... Thanks for sharing this... This was during her concert at the Westin Philippine Plaza hotel last Oct 2000, and she was only 30 years old at that time. One of Regine's best live performances and during her vocal prime, her light lyric soprano voice at that time is always a perfection. Perfect pitch, clear feminine and even voice all throughout her registers. And the brilliance of her high notes are bright and metallic. Although a lot of people may not appreciate her voice type when it's high and thin when she was young...Her voice now has blossom into a full lyric soprano, which is more rounder, fuller and has more weight to it.
