I had one of these. Left it in a storage shed for a couple of months, a flood happened and.... Also lost a bunch of other stuff, none of it insured. Life can suck sometimes, but really, ITB gives us so much more flexibility and recallability.
What no one has seemed to mention in reviewing this (very fine) demo is your PLAYING. Above all, these units, like any others, will be rendered useless without an actually decent player. But you're a real good guitarist and I appreciate your playing as much as I do the info on this cool delay device.
Yes the 2290 was pretty much the rack standard for delay, and is probably still today, but very few people actually use rack gear, everything is compact stomp pedal now. Yes the 2290 was pretty much the rack standard for delay, and is probably still today, but very few people actually use rack gear, everything is compact stomp pedal now. you can find used Line 6 Echo Pro, its pretty much the same sounds as the Line 6 DL4 stomp box, the D-Two can get pretty close to the sound of a 2290
1 MHz sampling rate.... No other like this monster. If some studio have it, never get out. Never. Part of sound enginering history. Also the analog circuits awesome clean path, 90 degree passive design, right distance so on. Nobody know why TC stopped this. They said, because lot of part are not avaiable anymore. I can't believe. Have some other reason. I stay hunt for one of this unit!
Hello, if i was to go with one delay unit, i would eather get the TC D-Two if you want more of a straight forward delay sound, or i would go with the Line 6 Echo Pro, it does nice digital delay sound, and it has alot of nice other emulating delay sounds. :)
Hello, thanks for your great instructive video. I have one question for you, please. If you had to choose one or two delay units for a rack with limited room but trying it to be the best ever, what units would you choose?(the rack system would have highest-quality midi-controlled loop system and mixer). I always wondered how the tc2290 compares with other units (tc1210, MXR rack, Fractal Ultra, Alesis quadraverb plus and other top rack units or stomp boxes -i.e. Pete Cornish, Strymon, etc-)
Amazing demo! Best 2290 demo on the Internet. Could you please send me or post your favorite presets that you created. I just got a 2290 for my rack. Thanks.
but again its not a 2290 but a more cheaper modern delay unit. i have not compared a G-Force but im assuming it sounds close to the D-Two, and i have not tried the Fractal Axe FX-2 :( i really like the Eventide Timefactor, it has great delay sounds, but i havent tried any Eventide Rack gear.
Hello, thanks for answering, coming from you its great advice!!!. Can we assume to begin with that the tc2290 has been the best delay rack unit ever? Does the TC-Two actually nail 99%-100% the sounds of the tc2290? The Line 6 Echo Pro has been discontinuied but the only one avalaible is the POD HD Pro, which I guess will include the sounds of the Line 6 Echo Pro. Have you had the chance to compare the delay sounds of the above mentioned units with the Fractal Axe FX-2, TC G-FORCE, and Eventides?
Would love to try your presets - could you send a few please? Even a full bank if you have it available? Plus: you should write the missing programming manual for this fantastic piece of gear, I'd order one at once!
is it correct that neither the 2290 nor the 1210 are available anymore for sale from t.c. electronic/or any dealer but only by pure luck looking for it on ebay or so ?
I was just wondering if you would be so kind to send me some presets too. I bought a TC2290 after watching your video but I have to keep watching your demo to learn how to use it.

super nice of you to make this vid, i just got one of these and this is a great guide. thank you !

Wow, I knew that TC does good delays, but this is fantastic. Just epic.
No wonder, one of the best and most expensive delay units ever
@@ItaiIfrach I finally met someone who had one. He was selling it for $2.5K
I don't have $2.5K.
Pedal version costs less, plugin version even less than that

I’d like to see more of the ducking feature. What an awesome piece of equipment to own.

Please compare the newly released 2290P to this 2290 rack unit. Thank you for the great content!
What an awesome piece of gear! Sounds really great! Thanks!
Great video! enjoyed thanks... always liked the way Michael Thompson uses modulated delays :)

I don't think anything can beat this for delays

Yes the 2290 is the Ultimate, but for a 4th of the Price, the DTwo will get you very close :)
Close is hand grenades and horseshoes. Margarine isn't butter.
Real is real

When is the Strymon DIG vs TC 2290 video coming out?

FANTASTICO
the history of delay's device
Cool delay
Anyone know if this has a tap delay function?
There is a 'Learn' key to tap on the front panel, or you can do it by SysEx if your foot controller has that facility.
TC Electronic 2290 Delay in mono = Major Failure !
was hoping for a little less conservative demo. oh well. onward.
