You're right bro. Oda Nobunaga clearly hated Japanese men. Crazy how these westerners set this up hundreds of years ago just so this game could disrespect Japanese men smh.
These people are missing the ENTIRE point. They’re not mad that they included Yasuke. They’re mad that the game takes place in Japan but instead of including a Japanese protagonist they include the one black man in the entirety of Japanese history that exists only from small footnotes in history as the main character. It’s like making a movie set in the mail empire and making it about the one Portuguese man in the entire country. Also there are doubts about the role of Yasuke. There are no records beyond his two year stay in Nobunaga’s court. And to be a samurai one had to train since the age of 7 to become and achieve the rank of samurai. And most of the attribution of being samurai came from him being afforded a land grant, the right to a short sword, and a title. However despite his physical prowess allegedly that of ten men, his introduction into the daimyo’s court was one of curiosity. Nobunaga is noted to having wanted to see a man with black skin. And forced the Portuguese emissary to relinquish him. Yasuke was most likely an attendant much like the blackamoors in the courts of Europe at the time. But that doesn’t mean he was a lowly servant. Me members of the court even those serving as curiosities were often given noble titles. Many natural curiosities like dwarves and hairy men were granted noble status such as in the courts of Spain and Persia and China. But he is not likely to have been a samurai and neither would’ve real samurai regard him as such. Most likely he would’ve returned to Mozambique or more likely Portuguese Goa.
@@Ktsjay187 Not really. The game divulges from the setting of every other game in the series. The game series is called ASSASSINS creed not warriors creed or samurai’s creed. Why is the main character a samurai? It diverts from the game setting in the series. Even games with two protagonists like origins and syndicate both had protagonists who were assassins and made use of the stealth game mechanic. Also the developers tried to justify using Yasuke as a way to show a “different perspective” to ancient Japan but that’s the first time they’ve ever done that. Why? Why divulge from the series setting? In every other game the protagonist comes from that country or at least belonged to an ethnicity that at least had ties to that locale like black flag. Why choose the ONE black man in all of Japanese history? Also why would you pick someone who’s claim to being a samurai is tenuous at best? The evidence for him being a samurai is weak at best and near non existent his entire life being chronicled in ONE paragraph in the Shincho Koki and a letter between Jesuits. Why not make it about any of the hundreds of Japanese samurai who were actually samurai and are supported by evidence?
@@henrylivingstone2971 neither ac odyssey nor Valhalla were assassins games they were both warrior games Secondly, why do you care about a characters nationality so much. In AC4 it was a Welsh protagonist in the Caribbean. Obviously the person made sense given the historical context, but if yasuke existed irl, then the same logic applies.
In every piece of historical art that was shown in this video that depicted yasuke, he was depicted as a jester or servant. How the hell do you look at the depictions of him and say “yaaa this guy was a samurai 🤡”

She did a historical study and analysis on the presence of that activity in ancient Japan, because newsflash, it was VERY REAL. Do you really think the ancient Greeks/Spartans were the only ones who practiced homosexuality among wide gaps in age range? It happened A LOT in ancient Japan. Historians analyze and make known this reality because it was common. That doesn't mean someone agrees with it.
According to the “Jesuit Annual Report of Japan”, "The black servant (Yasuke) that the Visitor (inspector) presented to Nobunaga, after Nobunaga’s death, went to the residence of the heir and fought for a considerable length of time. When a retainer of Mitsuhide approached him and fearlessly told him to hand over his sword, he did so. When Mitsuhide was asked by his retainer how to deal with Yasuke, he said, “The black servant is an animal who knows nothing, and he is not even Japanese, so do not kill him.” He decided not to execute him and said, “Place him in the church of the Pardre in India.” As a result, Yasuke was sent to the Nanbanji (Southern Barbarian Temple) and was spared. He was never a samurai, but merely a servant. This is the truth and the conclusion. If you doubt it, check the Japanese version of Wikipedia.
@@yashdd7521 Indeed, Oda Nobunaga is said to have been able to mobilize between 100,000 and 200,000 samurai at most. Yasuke, however, was not even one of them, but was carrying luggage. This highlights the strict social hierarchy and division of roles during the Sengoku period in Japan. Even though Yasuke was close to Nobunaga, his role was that of a servant, not a samurai. It’s a fascinating aspect of Japanese history.

It's only fun because we are not sure. We can enjoy creative liberties because we don't know for sure. But UBI broke that.

Naoe is Japanese so there goes your argument 😟
@@Ktsjay187
Not really.
@@henrylivingstone2971 neither ac odyssey nor Valhalla were assassins games they were both warrior games

You don't get the point at all.
The problem is not the Yasuke himself, it's the UBI's attitude and their comments about how he was a historically-confirmed samurai when he was not. It's only fun because we are not sure. We can enjoy creative liberties because we don't know for sure. But UBI broke that.

弥助がいるのに日本舞台のゲーム、映画、漫画に黒人を出さないのは人種差別と言うんでしょ?
娯楽が浸食されて面白く無くなっていった西洋人達が警鐘を鳴らしてくれた理由がよくわかりました。
Welcome to the same boat
IGN pushing this too? Lol
All owned by the BlackRock ESG investment racket.
fun fact:the game you are about to purchase is way more expensive than the price to purchase Yasuke back then
😂😂😂the game would probably be a better investment
“As long as it fits my narrative I’ll pretend it’s normal”
日本人であれば誰でも、違和感がたくさんあることに気づきます。
少なくとも、日本ではヒットしないでしょう。主演俳優の鼻毛がでている映画を見続けている気分です。内容に集中できない。
Blackwash.
Wrong definition. U cant turn a black person black and make it blackwash. Stay in school kids
This aged like milk
The issue isn't that he's in the game, the issue is that you don't have a male Japanese protag either. Odyssey let you choose and Valhalla let you choose. Every other assassins creed game had a protag native the land it took place in.
He could have been a great side character or a playable DLC character for anyone who's interested
Why don't you make a video on Ubisoft editing the wiki page of Yasuke? Or is that also creative liberty?
The cope is crazy. They did not change it 😂😂😂
@@ThirsTDemonApprently they did change it, the Japanese wiki when translated is very different, so much so that it's apprent that it was edited. The Japanese wiki got locked recently after people started bringing it up...
@@austinhawthorne6310 Soo your telling me Japanese people changed their on Wikipedia for a video game 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It was the exact opposite. You know the edit history is available, right?
@@austinhawthorne6310omg you are stupider then ppl I’ve been seeing
