    Chris you really inspire me to play more. Not practice but play. Every time I see/hear you play, I'm reminded that the guitar is such an expressive instrument and I play with more feeling and freedom to sound like me. Thank you. Please keep the videos coming after your name becomes household. Which I predict will be soon rather than later...

    Great video Chris. Amazed your improv and vocabulary. I think that progression is E/F#7/A? If so, my stupid brain says that if doesn't understand. Would you look at it as first 2 chords are the IV & V of B? Then the A is separate?

    • @RossMacdonaldBass
      @RossMacdonaldBass 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would analyze it as 1 (tonic), 2 dom7, then 4. The 2 dominant 7 (aka "5 of 5") could resolve to 5, but instead goes to 4 (subdominant). 2 dom 7 slides really nicely into the 4 chord because it has shared notes/chord tones and the non-shared chord tones are only a semitone away. (ie. F#7 contains F# A# C# E. A contains A, C# and E, so just one note has to change from the 2 dom7 to make the 4 chord .)

    • @LorriSanga
      @LorriSanga 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @binface9
    @binface9 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, it sounds great.
    But, it strikes me as unusual that where the demand was for the Boost side of The Dane in a small enclosure, what was supplied was the Boost circuit along with a Ge overdrive no-one asked for, in a box only slightly smaller than that of The Dane.
    This might have been an opportunity to move into the micro-pedal market, with two products released at the same time with the advice that they sound great together; then charge £125 for each. You've given the people what they want, and if they buy both pedals, you've charged them the same as a Dane.
    Otherwise £190 is a lot of money for a pedal, particularly if it includes an overdrive circuit you weren't particularly looking for.

    • @thorpyfx2679
      @thorpyfx2679 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      HI thanks for the comment and interest. Ok, ill try and explain the rational here. All of my pedals are hand-wired and handbuilt by a very small team in the UK. Despite the relatively small size of my company I chose to have a bespoke enclosure design and I have two fundamental sizes at the moment. One was designed for more complex double pedals (DANE, VETERAN, DEEP OGGIN and future designs etc). The other was designed for single pedals. The Heavy Water enclosure is 65mm wide whilst the double sized one is 100mm wide. The investment required to make a mini pedal in a custom enclosure would be high especially considering that having thought it through it wouldn't save any space as even the small mini hammond enclosures with side jacks take up 65mm of width on a pedalboard. My single sized enclosures have top mounted jacks and as such you can fit more on a board width wise. Now why did i put the second boost in there? Because it sounds awesome on its own, killer when stacked and essentially adds 2 extra channels to your valve amp, whether it was asked for or not, I'd rather deliver more functionality when I can, especially when i knew the enclosure didn't need to change. so here is a two in one pedal in a small enclosure..... try it I'm sure it'll make sense when you do.

    Chris plays so tasty using any pedal that it doesn’t make sense to buy something particular to get his sound. That’s the problem. For me.
