Not sure if you saw my pinned comment, but there actually is a great website that will tell you if someone has died in your house, as well as some information about its history, etc. I've used it before to confirm a haunting in an old colonial house I lived at in Massachusetts. I was able to find out the woman's name, date of death, and it matched up almost exactly with what my girlfriend had been seeing/feeling in the house. The woman passed away just a few years before we moved in, and we think she just really loved the house and wanted to protect it.

We have such great and sad history in NY state ,but it's truly fascinating I wish people would slow down to appreciate it, like fun fact last of the mohicans is about NY

There is definitely...something to the van Horn mansion haunting.
I have visited many times (I'm a local to the area: Lockport NY) and once I was in the master bedroom of the home, on a regular weekend afternoon jaunt, and standing next to the bed I felt as if my body was being...smushed or something, hard to explain.
Like an intense pressure from the room's atmosphere.
Right before the occurrence, I saw a flash of bright light that was odd for an overcast autumn day.
It was one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had.

Jane McCrea also haunts the cemetery of which she is buried. Which is said to be about where she was slain. It's said that she chases anyone, who has any amount of native Indian in them., with her scalp in her hand. It's said that she does this on the anniversary of the night of her death.

@@GhostQuestUSA_TV I live 8 miles from there. Her grave is there as you enter they cemetery. Plus due to it happening 3 miles from where I used to live, we learned all about her in history class all through school

I would have to pass Burn Brae mansion every other week to get my kid from my ex they live not 200 yards pass it!

I think that was an apartments that were put up for the poor. And there were a lot of bad things that went on there back in the 50's and 60's if it is the one I'm thinking of. Drugs, gangs all that stuff went on. It was called by many as Hell on Earth to live there.
