As a former resident of the suburbs of Buffalo, I can tell you that all basements are creepy. The houses are old & the basements are usually cluttered with long forgotten objects & memories. The perfect place for someone to jump out at you. As a child I hated going to the basement especially the pantry room which always gave me a sense of fear. However I didn't mind going up into the attic which was creepy too, just not as much as the basement....lol.

I'd like to add another haunted location known as the Lockwood Mansion (aka Lockwood House) on Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY (the old "millionaire's Row" as it was called in the 19th century). Deep in Buffalo's city was a street commonly known for being the private homes of wealthy industrialists, bankers, doctors, business men, etc. All of these homes are currently converted to office buildings and the headquarters of companies employing hundreds, Lockwood Mansion is but one but with a resident of a paranormal presence. The History of the Mansion: that it was first built in 1873 but was destroyed by a fire in 1887. Rebuilt a year later. Then purchased by a wealthy gentleman T. B. Lockwood in 1918 who remodeled it. The property changed hands several times after 1950 (sold by Lockwood's widow) until it became a visiting nursing facility run by the Episcopal Church of Buffalo. That's where I come into the story. I'm not delivering a story as a common local legend, or passing down a ghost story because I experienced an apparition sighting and was actually touched by it: an aged or elderly woman. I wasn't the only one. The third floor is especially spooky but any floor can give you the creeps if you're alone in the mansion after dark.

The old psych center wasn't "closed" due to neglect of the of the patients. Nothing was closed, a new psych center was constructed on the same property and everything was moved to that building, leaving the old building empty. The psych center remains open to this day. The Richardson complex is still under renovation, with hopes that more can be donewith the old building besides the hotel and restaurant.
As for the war of 1812, much of what was Buffalo at that time was burned to the ground. That winter an encampment was set up, in an area which is now part of Forest Lawn cemetary, for those who lost their homes with nowhere else to go. As most know Buffalo winters are rather harsh, unfortunantly many died due to exposure.
For those in the area a good place to find information is the Buffalo and Erie county historical building. The building itself served as the New York state building from the 1901 panamarican expo. They also have research library

Used to go exploring the tunnels under the "hotel Henry" (didn't know it was called that now), interesting thing about it. Lots of the weird old asylum equipment, like a human sozed bird cage, was stashed down in the steam tunnels still, late 90s early 2000s. Saw a flannel man apparition down there, while it was over a hundred degrees by the steam pipes. Also got chased around by the sound of a huge dog, never saw it, even when i saw heavy doors move out its way, and heard it right nearby. I didn't even play around with substances then, or altered states of consciousness😂. Tried to convince myself of mental fabrications for years. My opinion changed, sometime around 07, i know what i saw there.
Bet they through some wild eyes wide shut parties, in the tunnels below the hotel

Yes. That building is creepy just looking at it from the outside.
There was actually some plan to turn it into condominiums and office spaces for lease of purchase. Some renovations were undertaken. Never really took off. Many a contractor simply walked from the job. I lived on Massachusetts Ave in Buffalo. A neighbor was a worker for a salvage company cleaning out the building. He said a lot of weird things went on in there. Sometimes an apparition could be seen walking the mezzanine late at night at regular intervals. It was caught in a loop. Looked like a passenger trying to get somewhere and never made it to the train. Supposedly he died of heart failure in a restroom stall. Folklore maybe?

@@GhostQuestUSA_TV It is dumbfounding in its immensity. It would take forever to explore in depth. I'm not too sure of access to it now, but other paranormal investigative teams have been granted time in the past. There may also be some mechanical areas that may be strictly off limits except to specialists in mechanical fields because of the inherent dangers you'd be subjected to. I heard there are wide open elevator shafts in darkened hallways that drop from sickening heights to the bottom of the shafts. One wrong turn or a malfunction in your light and its adios moonchacho! Anyway, it's been years. Don't know the building's status now.

Nice vedeo. If anyone ever gets a chance to go on the ghost tour at the Central Terminal, do so. Every single tour has a ghostly experience. Well, the night time tours do, the day time tours are more informative like the "mob" connection. As mentioned before, your pronunciations are a little off. It's Kin-E-Shush, Muh-Die, & Shays (as it rymes with "Rays"). Other than that, very cool. The Iron Island Ghost Tours are typically booked months in advanced at Halloween and has a carnival-type atmoshere. Buffalo also has some grade A haunted house attractions at Halloween that are worth the visit, most at a very low cost. I've heard of the Lindburgh Elementary School being haunted, but there is not a tour of anything as it is a working school. Keep up the good work.

I went to the terminal down on William and I fell 3 stories through a hole in the floor… somehow I survived after doing a flip and about 80% of the second flip. I broke three bones and somehow I got up and walked out of there. Very very spooky.

Hopefully you will never see a shadow figure! I have seen a shadow figure twice here in NorCal. Im a bit psychic and spirits try and sometimes do contact me.

Thank you Mike, I appreciate the info!! I just added it to my website to research later, but I wasn't able to find any ghost stories about the zoo. Do you know what the backstory for this location is, or have any stories you could share? Thank you again!! 👻
