    And the “unofficial” 1.1.1 patch manager enables (and makes available) every effect from all the cdr pedals 50, 60, 70 and the two gx pedals. It’s incredible. Makes the 70 cdr the best value around once you add some of the bass pedal effects, distortion, amp simulations, and the already great delay and reverb, into your stereo pedal. Simply amazing.

    In my humble opinion and speaking as an older guy with no patience, you should work for the company. You made it all so simple. (Forget about the people who said you should prepare more). All I wanted was to see someone playing about with it and explaining how to do stuff I couldn't see in the manual. You were great. Carry on :-)

    The Zoom 70 cdr is more massive than you think!……my son who is a physicist has done the math for it with the information I gave him.
    The device has 68 effects and up to five effects can be added to one main effect giving a total of 6 effects together in one patch and or lesser numbers of effects summed together.
    He has worked out that there are over 1.5 BILLION PERMUTATIONS and that to listen to ONE EFFECT for ONE second it will take you 47 years to listen to them all.
    Actually you will not live long enough because you have to sleep a third of that time and spend other seconds flipping through the menus.
    Zoom did not tell us this……….see you in 47 years when you’ve listen to them all.

      I've heard other people talk about having this issue, but I personally haven't experienced this.
      Someone on the MultiStomp subreddit that they took the back off and pressed on one of the components, and the hum disappeared while they were touching it. So it sounds like some of them have a bad earthing problem? Not sure though.

    • @PedalExperiments
      @PedalExperiments  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, glad you enjoyed it. 😊
      I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, but I mostly use my MultiStomp for modulation and ambient effects, so I place it after my drive pedals, but before my other delays. If I got my dirt from my amp, then I'd put it in the effects loop.
      It should work just as well on acoustic as on electric, but I'd mainly use it for subtle chorus and delay effects, if I were you.
      Hope that helps?

      I made this video a while back, and my effects levels were all over the place, tbh.

      Hi, thanks for the kind words!
      Yes, you can stack up to 6 effects at once, in any order, depending on how much available dsp the patch requires. For example, if you try to stack more than 4 reverbs, it'll usually stop you. But 6 modulation or filter effects are no problem!
      I definitely recommend picking one up. They're incredible!

    Starts off pretty good, but then spends way too much time messing with lots of effects and tweaks. Just two or three would have been plenty then go on to explain how to go back into the patch and delete or add other effects, how to change their order and how to delete a patch. Also mention some of the settings such as the backlight which can be turned off to prolong battery life. Oh, and maybe have a practise to refresh you memory before you begin.

    You do know that you can change the order of the effects in the chain, right? You don't have to "save that for the end", you just move it to the end of the chain inside the pedal. Same with that compressor; you didn't have to ditch it, you just needed to put it in the most effective part of your effects chain.

This has to be a routing issue right? Or maybe some kind of live mode? I'm noticing another one of your videos to the left; "How to set up your MS for live use". Maybe my answers are there?

      @@JeighNeither I sounds like you might be only turning off one effect within a patch, rather than the whole patch itself.
      If you press the right button next to the footswitch, it should scroll sideways until you reach a "line selector" effect. If you press the footswitch on that block, it'll turn off the whole chain at once.
      Try that!

    Sorry, but NO. Chorus is NOT "just vibrato", in fact the OG chorus uses NO VIBRATO at all. Where did you even come up with that? You can't have chorus without copies of the original signal, & then you need those copies minutely delayed, so DELAY is essential to achieve a legit Chorus effect. Moving on to the modulation, it's an LFO (low frequency oscillator), not vibrato, that achieves the iconic sound. While true, there are many types of Chorus, a chorus built from a vibrato, is a specialized Chorus that would usually be labeled "Vibrato Chorus", or even the other way around, but NO popularized chorus that we've have heard throughout the decades, but mostly in the 80's, achieved it's modulation from vibrato. The most essential effect for a proper Chorus is Delay, not vibrato, since multiple types of modulation can achieve a chorus effect, but can't be layered & slightly staggered without Delay.

      @@PedalExperiments I looked at your channel page; first thought is why in the hell don't you have more views? I don't think I've ever found a channel that has as many pedals documented as you do! You're like the Trogly's of effects pedals. And you do boutique & cheap Chinese pedals; that's really cool. So you clearly know what you're doing, & now I'm even more interested in your take on chorus. Perhaps more than just a "K"? I know you're terribly busy; you have to be with the amount of amazing content you have. I couldn't possibly know as much about effects pedals, so if you are able to find a few free moments, I'd really like to hear your take on Chorus; as in it being only vibrato. I'm sure I'm missing something; I usually am 🙄

      Thanks for explaining. I thought you were trolling me before, hence the "K". Ha ha! Sorry about that.
      Thanks for the support! I've only really been building my channel this past year, so I'm glad I made it to 1,000 subs in such a short time. I'm confident I'll get a lot more over the next year!
      When I said about vibrato being chorus, what I meant was, chorus is comprised of a vibrato, blended with your dry signal. A lot of famous guitarists get their chorus sound that way, in fact. They send their vibrato to one amp, and dry signal to other amp, and the combined sound is an amazing, full, chorus effect.
      Hope that clears things up?

    • @JeighNeither
      @JeighNeither 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@PedalExperiments No, not trolling, but I'm not the greatest writer sometimes, & I come across as dry, I'm probably on the spectrum or something.
      You're talking about a wet/dry set-up right? I've tried that set up, but I don't have the right parts to make it work. I have a nice head & stack, but the other amp is a smaller Roland solid state, that I sent the clean thru, but I still get a more lush sound going stereo with them instead. I think it's just because the smaller amp is lacking. I haven't tried running vibrato that way; I've seen & heard wet/dry done right, but I just can't seem to duplicate it with what I've got. Thanks for taking the time to explain that tho!

      No probs, mate! 🙂
      You don't need to have a wet/dry setup to get that deconstructed chorus sound. For instance, I've got a great pedal called the Nu-X CH-3 Chorus which has a blend knob. Dialling it one way you get vibrato, and then it turns into chorus as you turn the knob the other way. It's pretty cool!

    It appears to me that the main footswitch can only be used to either turn on or an effect within a single patch, or to scroll up the patch list. what i'd like to able to do is to use the footswitch on certain patches, to turn FX on and off within the patch, but also use the footswitch to scroll through the patches: A>B>C>D etc etc.
    would you know if there is an option to have this dual functionality on the footswitch?

    • @PedalExperiments
      @PedalExperiments  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that's about all the footswitch can do, I'm afraid. Aside from also accessing the tuner function, or the tap tempo.
      Maybe there's a way to cycle through presets via MIDI and thus freeing-up the main footswitch to turn specific effects off, but honestly I'm not sure about that.
      Other than that, the only way around your problem that I can see, is to save two or more patches that are almost identical, but without the specific effects you wish to turn off. Then you can cycle through those presets to get the desired result?
      If that's not really the solution you're looking for, and if you require more in-depth control, then I think you'd be better suited to the Line 6 HX Stomp, as that's like a MultiStomp on steroids!

      @@PedalExperiments the work around, like you say, is just to have a patch for each part of the tune and cycle through them. i don't have a large set list but i can imagine the patch slots will start to fill up pretty quickly. i still like the pedal. for the price and the footprint, it's a bargain.

    • @PedalExperiments

      Yeah, exactly. There's nothing else on the market that offers this much functionality at this price point, so a lot of the time you just have to accept the handful of small limitations it has. 🤷‍♂️
      You could always just get a second one? 😜
