Where did you get the info that he was forced to sing and wasn't a singer? That couldn't be further from the truth.
He sang with several bands before.
He sent a tape to the former band members of Mother Love Bone who was looking for a new singer as their lead singer died of a drug overdose. They invited him to come audition to sing in the new band.
The rest is history.
the man took music and wrote lyrics to work in. it is frickin genius. he was NOT forced. he auditioned. and he took some basic song structures and made masterpieces lyrically.

Love this song. No he did not kill his parents. Columbine happen in 1999. If I'm not mistaken Eddie spoke with the parents about making this song.
The kid that played Jeremy in this video did an amazing job.
