      Jeremy Wade Delle died in January 8th in 1991 in Richardson Texas. Eddie Wadder made this song based in this story and other story that he saw at school.

    You nailed it! It’s a true story that the singer, Eddie, read in the paper. He wrote this song immediately after. Your reactions are awesome! Not afraid of wearing your emotions on your sleeve is infectious. Thank you 🙏🏻

    This one had quite a few confused, even back in the day. What it really is, By saying 'Jeremy spoke in class today" really means, Jeremy got up infront of class today and blew his brains out in front of everyone. The rest of the song, is explaining why he did that. It is a tale of how fragile growing up can be. And being picked on, and neglected by everyone, can drive one to go to really drastic measures.

      The although the incidentsong is not was true based on the suicide of Jeremy Delle. Eddie Vedder read the story and it inspired him to write th. song watch the interview documentary with his mother it also pissed off the classmates because story wasn't true. There are lawsuits including slander

    If you haven't heard the song Release by Pearl Jam, I'm certain you'll never forget it. Out of all the songs from this band, this one in my favorite!
    I heard about the band 5 years ago, never got into them until I recently watched Out of the Furnace, a movie that should've been in the top ten when it was released. Anyway, that song comes on, it blew me away. It spoke to me, and somehow it reminded me of my Father, it's hard to explain because I'll start crying if I do. It's a touchingly beautiful song, at least to me it is.
    Guess what? I'm a Pearl Jam fan now... lol.
    The band does other things with their instruments which is why it's a “nine minute song,” but the song itself is a 4 minutes and 50 second masterpiece.

    Thank you for reacting to this. Sadly, it is a true story from 1979 in Richardson, TX - a Dallas suburb. The lead singer talking about him picking “on the boy” wasn’t real; he put it in to enhance the message. Bullying is awful. My son’s 33. He was diagnosed with Asperger’s (high-functioning Autism) when he was 4. As a Mother, it cuts you in the heart when your child is bullied. And he was. Lots and lots of counseling over the years. I tell you, ugh. Terrible stuff.

      January 8, 1991. RIP Jeremy Wade Delle. And Eddie Vedder, the lead singer of Pearl Jam, has said this song is based both on Jeremy's small story in the newspaper and a real life incident from his childhood. The second verse about "picking on the boy" and "bit the recess lady's breast" is based on his own life.

    Lot of time it hurts to try to help too, I always protected other
    Kids from bullys, they all stuck to me like glue but the shear amount of fighting did, and motor teachers hated me cause most football and basket players were bad bullys. It affected my time in school greatly not to mention never really healing until breaks from school, even went to private school one year to get away, it was terrible too, grades and teachers were great but bulleys even rape of smaller students I'm right back to fighting again. That school shut down after that year . I know zero tolerance policeys must be hard on students right now but my life and others as a kid its been needed for a long time. Love you empress ;-) 😘

    Kids can be cruel. This truly happened, and happens all the time. DO NOT give people a rough time. You don't know what they already go through. You'd might-as-well be the one to pull the trigger on someone, if you drive someone to do that! NOT cool, nor funny at all. Also, teach your kids not to do it, and not to take it.
    At least I can say that I took up for people who were picked on. People can only take so much!

    I was bullied and this one hits hard. It's something you never get over so I can appreciate the message but I also struggle with the direction of the video and even the lyrics. A lot of things were assumed and inferred so it makes me wonder how much they were concerned about money and how much they really cared about the situation. I don't question Eddie, but the people behind the production, in general.

    Man I know I'm going to get hate for this;
    The incident was true Jeremy did walk into the class and committed suicide.. that's where it stops. The song the video and the visuals do not at all depict the suicide of Jeremy Delle. . Eddie Vedder read the story and it inspired him to the song; in hopes that it'll do some good. Which it did... it's one thing to hear about it on the news or read it in the paper.. every single part of it the Lyrics-music are symbiotic, the acting, cinematography, the visuals the editing.. it hits your heart like a sledgehammer.. hard. High schoolers can be as vicious as it gets. Cyberbully suicides should be considered as homicide with intent. They need to get rid of censored version it implies he murdered his classmates... Insidious..
    I advise any haters to watch the interview Documentary with Jerry Wells mother and kids that were in his class

    • @artsilva
      @artsilva 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      "They need to get rid of uncensored version it implies he murdered his classmates... Insidious.."
      Actually it doesn't if you watch and listen to the whole video/lyrics. It very much implies the Shock in freeze frame of the students when Jeremy did the act especially the clip of him placing the gun, you know where.
      Maybe you meant to say Get Rid of the Censored Version, not Uncensored. That is the one where I can see the confusion because those graphic clips were left out leaving the viewer guessing.
