    Cluj Napoca has a lot of music festivals as well, actually more than Bucharest. UNTOLD festival which is the biggest from Eastern Europe + Jazz in the Park + Electric Castle and other events such as Street Food Festival or and TIFF Festival. In Bucharest you can find also something similar but is not that common and depends where you stay in Bucharest. if you are far away from the park, you can do even 2 hours to get there. But I completely agree with what you said about the metro from Bucharest, which is very good and very cheap, also the cost of life in the capital is better handled than in Cluj, which is a bit too expensive, mostly when those festivals are in town 😄

      I agree, I heard about UNTOLD in the pass, yes I guess cluj is still better than Timisoara here we really don’t get anything besides cultural events🤣 well and some street food fest in summer. But the main international concerts and conferences I always see them in bucharest for some reason😅! So in comparison still cluj can be more expensive than the capital?

      @@ViajaconAbyy It is amazing to think that Timisoara was way better than Cluj 10-15 years ago, everybody tried to go to TM for education, work, events. But in the last years Cluj developed a lot, it expanded so much that incorporated many villages from outside the city and is now a big centre for everything in Romania, surpassing Timisoara and even Bucharest in many things. But Bucharest stays better at cost of life. I stayed in both cities and can confirm that Bucharest has cheaper prices for rent and food, and the salaries are higher and you can find more diverse work good paid. Meanwhile in Cluj you can find very good paid work in key domain such as IT, constructions, engineering. My wife is from Mexico and she worked there in Spanish and had a salary better paid than in Western Europe. We live now in Hunedoara, there are also many smaller cities in Romania that start to develop a lot, Oradea and Alba for example, and many people prefer them to avoid the traffic and high rents from big cities such as Cluj and Bucharest 😁

    Thank you for the video! Bucharest is actually really really safe. If not the safest big city in Europe for sure one of the safest. Trafic is bad and the city is a little expensive, sure :)

      I agree, but as everywhere there are always bad areas in all cities I think at this point is normal, but yeah I never felt unsafe while being there!. I am glad you liked the video🧡

    I’m half romanian half Danish, my mom’s side is romanian. I wouldn’t say I’m fluent in the language, but I understand it very well and speak it ok ish. I will be 23 next year when I plan on moving there for a year. I’m a network engineer, should I go with Cluj Napoca or Bucharest. My mom is originally from Bucharest and my grandparents live there as well
    What do I do😅

    Do you have any recommendations for best cities/towns in Romania for families with young children?

    • @ViajaconAbyy
      @ViajaconAbyy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately no🥺 because I don’t have kids and I haven’t really look into what cities provide the best for kids too, not really sure but in general from the top cities in Romania I think you could have an idea of where to start searching for your specific needs as family🫂🧡

    The most important part are the people, how they act and if you fit there or not.
    You might fit best in Oltenia as you are more volcanic - Transylvania is calmer, slower, maybe something specific to regions with mountains and hills.
    And BTW,. as a % of the population, Cluj doesn't have much more students than Timisoara, they just do PR a lot.
    Population size, official data from the last census:
    Bucharest 1717k a decline of 166k since 2011
    Cluj 286k, a decline of 38k since 2011
    Iasi 271k and 18k - small decline as Moldova has higher birth rates so the youngest population and Iasi is the largest Uni center in the region.
    Constanta 263k and 20k - small decline because it's at the seaside
    Timisoara 250k and 68k
    Brasov 237k and 15k - small decline as it has mountains, it's central and it's the major city that Romanians tend to consider the prettiest.
    Craiova 234k and 35k
    Galati 217k and 31k
    Anyway, you are simply better informed on those locations you claim to prefer while not being informed at all on all other locations.

      There is no population decline in Bucharest, on the contrary. But many people (the ones who can afford it, of course) have moved to the suburbs so statistically they do not live in Bucharest. I know many who did so.

    • @realjx313
      @realjx313 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DukeOfTheYard That's anecdotal evidence so not of any relevance and if someone doesn't live in Bucharest anymore. well, they don't live in Bucharest.. There is also a very clear distinction between city and metro area so maybe you want to look at metro area and see how that is doing.
      Data is data, facts are facts, you like it or not.

      @@realjx313 Call it what you will. I live here and I have first hand knowledge.
      Facts are indeed facts but the question is whether the official statistics accurately reflect the facts. And they don't. In many aspects, not just this.
      For instance there are quite a few people who actually live in Bucharest but never bother to register their legal domicile there. I have a few of these in my family. :-)

    • @realjx313
      @realjx313 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DukeOfTheYard Yeah sure and the Earth is flat because you don't like it round. Your opinions and desires are not facts. You don't like reality so you are denying it. Grow up.
      Every city on the map is trying to make itself look better with nonsensical claims.
