Hi Spark! I haven’t been able to test them yet as can’t get my hands on a leftie version and I didn’t want to include anything I hadn’t personally tested. Equally where my intention was to only include irons released in the 2024 release cycle I couldn’t include the Cleveland XL Halo irons which I still think are AWESOME! So certainly not a slight on my love for the Cleveland irons! Thanks for watching and your comment! 👍🏼
Hey! Thanks for watching! You touch on a great point which is that the pace of change in game improvement iron technology at the moment feels evolutionary (small improvements year on year) rather than revolutionary (big jumps!). If you’re happy with the M2’s then stick with them! 👍🏼
Hi Chris! I think I said near the end of the video that I haven’t had a chance to test anything PXG as it’s hard for me to get hold of them in leftie so as a result I couldn’t include them! But I’ve heard good things and would love to test them! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼
@@weekendtourproI ordered a fitted set of Blk Ops a few weeks ago. Went with Mitsu Mmt stiff shafts & jumbo grips. They are the best clubs I’ve ever owned. They hit 1 club further than my old Big Berthas, very forgiving & feel great! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Hi Luke, I would have picked Cobra or Wilson clubs. The prices are competitive and the results are great. Thanks for your reviews. Something to look forward to in the mornings with my cup of tea .
Thanks John! Yeah I’m filming a similar end of year video on Players Distance irons and in that category there’s far less price disparity so it’s a little tougher to rank them! But like you, in this category they are so well matched performance wise that I had to let price largely dictate the rankings! 👍🏼
i am looking forward to you reviewing PXG Black Ops and GEN 7 XP / also the Cleveland Zipcore XL's your lists will change up a bit i think cheers from Canada
Cleveland Zipcore XL's are coming very soon - should be one of the first videos to land in January (I've got everything filmed up to the end of the year!).
@@weekendtourpro they just went on sale here in Canada for what works out to £89 per club and I only need 5 clubs as my set makeup includes at 6 hybrid hat a steal
Hey! The only reason it isn’t is because I’ve only included products from the latest release cycle, which therefore allows you to be custom fit, and haven’t had a chance to test the new Cleveland Zipcore which are their newer model yet! If we were talking top 5 that you can still pick up then 100% they’d be in there, so would the Ping G425 (which I prefer over the Ping G430 that missed out!)
AskGolfNut is a fan of the Cleveland XL Zip Core thinks for the “price” it is the best in this category! It’s cousin Srixon SRX 5 Mark II is his faves for this category
Cobra makes great products! I thought this iron flew a little lower for average golfers so maybe they would not hold greens etc. Maybe I’m wrong there. Good piece anyway Luke thanks.
yes indeed cobra make fantastic irons for fantastic prices. I still playing a 6 hcp with my cobra fmax. effortless to swing. super soft blade feeling and forgiving. I love the f max more than my wife 😂
😂😂😂 nearly spat my drink out reading that last line! Thank you for such a great comment and for watching my video! I think you make a great point in there too that Game Improvement irons aren’t just for higher handicaps! Every time I test them I think I should just play a set and make golfer easier! I’m slowly building a second bag to leave with family in Scotland and I’ll probably put a cheap set of GI irons in there (Cobra, Wilson, Cleveland) so it’s easy to just pick up, hit and enjoy the game with when visiting!
Absolutely! And thank you for your support! As a small channel trying to grow I really do appreciate the people who have given me a chance from the beginning - I really don’t take it for granted - so thank you! 👍🏼
Ok - so I'm one club into your review and you say that the visuals of the T350 and T200 don't blend well to combo them.....I mean that's utter madness. The clubs look almost identical. I play the T200's and considered going with a T350 or 2 at the top of my set but decided to do hybrids instead due to my modest swing speed. I'm right there with you on the CON of them being very pricey....but I can't get behind the blending issue that you mention. Moving along to the rest of the clubs now 🤣 I guess maybe I took some offence that my Titleists were #5 on the list.
Hi Chris! Thanks for watching and for your comment! Apologies maybe I didn’t do a great job in my choice of words at that section, what I meant is I don’t think they blend as well as the Callaway’s in my opinion. But as I said a few times the differences for me between all these clubs are so subtle and price was the overriding factor. If we took price out the equation I’d have put the Titleist at number 1 or 2 - and I nearly wrote that the only other con for the Cobra was that they weren’t a Titleist! I love the T350 but just struggle, as a price conscious golfer, to pick them when others on my list do 95% the same thing for 65% (Wilson) or 35% less (Cobra). Thanks for being constructive and kind in your feedback pal! Really nice to have a grown up conversation where we can have a differing opinion! Thank you! 🙏🏻
@@weekendtourpro There are a lot of great clubs out there right now....some of the ones you mentioned at the end that you didn't have access to test are also very good. I too am a lefty and it's tough to find certain clubs sometimes - either the manufacturer doesn't make them in lefty (which is thankfully much less often these days), but more common is that stores don't carry a ton of left handed stock. And I live probably in the left handed golfer Mecca of the world in Ontario, Canada. The price tag for golf definitely has jumped to some new levels the last few years. I generally try to get high quality equipment and then keep it for a long time. As an example, I played a set of Callaway X-22 Tour irons up until this iteration of replacing my irons. My swing speed isn't what it was 15 years ago, which is why I went with the T200's. My swing speed is about the same as yours as is my handicap. I do believe you're right about getting fit for clubs....and sadly haven't done that yet. I might go to a fitter and see if there is any room to optimize my set with different shafts.
Went for the Taylormade Qi 10 irons... Great iron and extremely forgiving... Also much closer dispersion that my old irons.. In fact I tried all the irons in your video plus the Ping G430 & Callaway Smoke
Hi David! Thanks for watching and sharing your own experiences! I love Ping but clubs (and play many of them!) but the G430 was the set that just missed out in my rankings - the main reason as crazy as it sounds is I think the G425 were better - I LOVED those irons! I think if I was filming a ‘Super Game Improvement’ video the G730 would be right up there with the latest Callaway Big Bertha and Cleveland Launcher XL Halo which are still the originals that everyone is copying in that category! Keep enjoying the Qi10’s! 👍🏼
They’d still be in my top 5 for sure because I do like them a lot - especially the second time I hit them off camera when I had a better shaft for me in them - but they’d probably be 4th. If we included all irons on the market and not just this years current models then the older Ping G425 and Cleveland Launcher XL would definitely be up there too… I think if these 5 irons were the same price and I wasn’t considering a combo set so it’s all on performance, feels and looks then I’d struggle to rank them as easily but my gut instinct without deeply scrutinising all my TrackMan data again is… 1. Titleist T350 2. Cobra Darkspeed 3. Callaway Ai300 4. Wilson Dynapower 5. TaylorMade Qi10
Hi Pete! Thanks for your comments! As always I love your insights! You know I LOVE Ping golf clubs and have them throughout the top of my bag... So the only reason they didn't get in my list is because I think the older G425 are better than the G430 and that meant I just couldn't include them. If we were talking Super Game Improvement then the Ping G730 would be in my top 2 for sure though!
Hey! Thanks for watching! Cobra market the Forged Tec as a Players Distance iron so I didn’t consider them for my rankings but as you can see I’m a big fan of Cobra clubs! 👍🏼
Also any high handicap players pls pls ols try srxon zx4s 👍👍👍 i played these for two years a while back i was a 9 handicaper with those ....now a 7 t150s player and honestly they are forgiving too
Thanks for the review. I am surprised that the Cleveland Zipcore XL’s did not make your list.

Thanks for sharing. I still have Tayloymade M2s. I try new ones time to time, but haven’t found anything materially better.
That being said, I have not tried the Cobra Darkspeed

Thanks Grantski2007! Gotta stick together! 💪🏼
Just ordered my darkspeed with graphite shafts for 1000 AUD after a fitting with Cobra can’t wait to get them
Wow that’s about £500 isn’t it? Bargain! They’ll look sooo good with the graphite shafts too! 👍🏼
