  • Join Luke at Weekend Tour Pros as he compares the four most popular budget soft golf balls used by amateur golfers, the Titleist TruFeel, TaylorMade SpeedSoft, Callaway Supersoft and Srixon Soft Feel to see which one is the best for golfers with an average swing speed.
    To complete the test Luke will hit a batch of shots with each golf ball back to back (starting with the Titleist, followed by the TaylorMade, then the Callaway and finally the Srixon), providing you his immediate feedback on their feels, sounds and pointing out any stand out TrackMan data.
    In this through the bag test, Luke will put each ball through four key tests::
    1. 20 Yard Pitch Shot with a 60 Degree Wedge - to test short game performance
    2. Pitching Wedge - to test stopping power into greens
    3. 7 Iron - to test middle of the bag performance
    4. Driver - to test distance off the tee
    After hitting each batch of shots, Luke will share with you a deep dive into all the TrackMan data talking you through the pros and cons of each ball including where the balls are similar and where they differentiate themselves.
    Once all four tests are complete Luke will give you his recommendations on which type of golfer should play each golf ball, as well as giving you his recommendation of which is the best budget friendly soft golf ball for average golfers in 2024! So what is the best budget soft golf ball for average swing speeds? Will it be the Titleist TruFeel, TaylorMade Speedsoft, Callaway Supersoft or the Srixon Soft Feel? Watch this video to find out!

    I have tried all the tested balls, and i have been playing the Trufeel more than 2 years. The overall spin with the ball and driver height was the deciding factor, in my testing. Great test .

    Excellent Luke, thanks for taking the time to do the testing. Of these, I've only played the previous version of the trufeel, and I like it a lot. Best 2 piece I've played. I bought 3 dozen so at my rate, I'll have them for a while. Quite durable as well. Great ball to putt with, decent spin when you want it, and long straight distance.

      @weekendtourpros  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hi Steve! The Kirkland is a great ball at its price point but actually performs closer to premium golf balls - due to the spin! I read in my research that the Callaway Supersoft was the number one selling golf ball in the USA in 2022 so it's certainly popular as I see A LOT at the courses I play too! I think that's why TaylorMade made the Speedsoft, to grab some of that marketshare! Hope you are good?

      Hi Adjman48! I play a more expensive ball with a urethane cover and more iron spin than these balls for exactly that same reason - especially as I’m a naturally low spin player! But like you, could easily see the TruFeel as a good winter ball! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼

It’s not a ball I see in the UK (not on Wilson’s website or in their 2024 catalogue and can only find it on Amazon in boxes of 2 dozen!) so not sure if it’s discontinued here and stock is selling though or if it’s just not easy to get hold off! @weekendtourpros my understanding it is the Duosoft is the replacement for the zip.
      The zip has good length off the tee and a good flight profile, that helps hold the green NOT the best spinning ball.

      I think that does tell me that all these manufacturers know what makes a good ball at this price point (and why TaylorMade released Speedsoft to take some marketshare!) and probably why we are seeing things like difference colours, patterns to try and show they are different and unique vs huge differences in performance! 👍🏼

  • @Crumbleofborg
    @Crumbleofborg 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    You mentioned Trackman's unrealistic roll-out numbers. Obviously it doesn't know how receptive the green / fairway is and has to just use some sort of average.
    But similarly Trackman doesn't know anything about aerodynamics either. So it's guessing about peak height, carry distance and landing angle as well!
    Despite all this, good useful review here. Personally I use Callaway Supersoft or Srixon Ultisoft, two balls which seem very similar.

    • @weekendtourpros
      @weekendtourpros  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Martin! Thank you for watching and for your comment!
      Regarding your points on TrackMan, when it can observe the full ball flight (e.g. on a driving range) TrackMan does accurately measure it up to 400. When we are in a studio you are absolutely right, it takes the ball flight it can measure and uses an algorithm to extrapolate that out. As someone who uses a TrackMan in both settings regularly I am confident that TrackMan is just as accurate indoors as my numbers are almost identical subject to how I’m swinging it on the day!
      On the point about roll out, what I was trying to say is that the virtual driving range on TM is defaulted to play firm and fast… when I’m using a TM on the driving range hitting shots, the roll out never matches the TrackMan roll out number as we don’t get those types of conditions in the UK bar 2-4 weeks a year when everything is burnt out! All the fitters and industry experts I speak to tell me this is a known “thing”!
      Also worth remembering we are losing c.1000rpm spin from the mat vs grass which also adds rollout…
      Hopefully you’ll come back to the channel again! All the best! 👍🏼

    • @Crumbleofborg
      @Crumbleofborg 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@weekendtourpros Thanks for your detailed reply! From time to time, ball manufacturers extol the virtues of their latest dimple pattern to improve flight, carry or dispersion. If Trackman can assess these correctly in an indoor studio, that must mean aerodynamic differences between balls must be negligible and therefore manufacturers are full of bs in this respect?

    • @weekendtourpros
      @weekendtourpros  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think there’s some truth in it but I’m testing trackman in ‘normalised’ mode always so my videos are closed data (same temp, excludes wind etc.) so they are as consistent as they can be… I definitely think if we were testing outside with TM not normalising you’d probably see some minor differences due to aerodynamics which TM would pick up but I suspect you’d need an elite golfer or robot swinging it to spot the difference. You do hear anecdotal evidence that things like TP5 performs better in the wind than its rivals but I’m not sure if the robot testing exists? 🤷‍♂️
