I can totally relate to being obsessed about detailing a car. You may need intervention, but you are not alone. It may have been a "basic" product application video but your approach and editing always makes it fun to watch.
You've got great nails for someone who works on cars! BTW: for adding oils back to black plastic trim (-which is, basically, what you are doing...) try the CHEAPEST peanut butter you can find and use the oils to rub into the faded black plastic. Works great! Great videos! Caio!
Sarah try the hybrid line Turtle Wax. Particularly the ceramic spray coating, and the Turtle Wax hybrid wet wax.. excellent price and a dynamite combo. You can also use these products over glass and all plastic trim. Does an excellent job. 😎
Hi Sarah, Awesome video i like when you put the light on the back plastic bumper showing the difference great detailing in all your videos keep up the great work ,God Bless n take care
Sarah, that sense of humor of yours knocks me out! BTW, there is a German Company called Wurth and they have excellent detailing / care care products . Most of there products are available in the US. I think you would really appreciate the quality of there products, as you have worked with so many other supplies.
Definitely needed in that Arizona intense dry heat. Having a garage to store your vehicles in helps a lot. I remember living in an apartment, the southern sun destroyed my car even though I regularly cleaned and applied protectants.
a friend of mine works at a printer service centre...and they use a substance called '' fuser agent' it is oily somewhat but once it sets it does not run...and for some reason it does bead like a waxed surface...he told me it is used to clean the rollers of large printers.....wear gloves when using it !! works like a charm..on plastics that is.
Use a gray scuff pad with dawn dish soap. After scuffing the plastic well, coat with SEM Plastic Adhesion Promoter. Then finish with SEM Trim Black 39143. This method is quick and will bring back a factory finish that is durable for many years.
Thank you Miss Sarah, my lease is up soon and my CX5 needs to be detailed. To me thank is the topper or the beautifier to make her beauty shine through. Thank you. Oh and I enjoy all of you videos, God bless keep doing what you do.
Pro tip: 303 aerospace protectant is great for plastics, rubber, vinyl, etc. so you only need to use one products saves you $$$. Plenty of videos on youtube about the stuff.
About the plastic on top of the bumper. Mine was always faded until I used my heating gun and bam, it looks like new! 4 weeks later, still nice and the water flows off quickly
Emil Nilsson Swe It works, but it’s definitely a risk versus reward situation, especially if the trim is attached to other components that could be negatively impacted by the heat. I would be curious as to how many times the plastic could handle that until it broke down chemically and became brittle.🤔
Sarah -n- Tuned, I only do this if the plastic is thick and isnt attached with 3M. Btw, I had a Volvo 740 -88, I heated the bumpers because no chemicals worked and 4 years later they looks just fine. th-cam.com/video/fZGciNKBVqU/w-d-xo.html
Have you used a torch? I tried it on some old plastic trim on my Toyota that was faded to grey. The heat pulls all the oil in the plastic back to the surface. Worked amazing
G'day, Sarah! Thumps up! "Sprechen Sie Deutsch" Lol!! I enjoyed your Restoring Faded Plastic Trim, and the fabulous Automotive Detailing! By the way... You know "Tree trimmers, do such a fantastic job, they should take a bough." Thank you for the marvelous sense of humor! The best! Cheers! 😊❤️
Hi Sarah, Thank you for posting these videos.I enjoy your humour too. It is good to see the products and how to use them from someone who is not working for a vendor. I am sorry that you have to put up with the misogyny. Quick German translation: Gummi (Rubber) pflege (Care) stift (pen).
Good to see you try plenty of different products miss word fumbles haha. Little tip instead of the prep product try methylated spirits it works the very same for less than a quarter of the price. Also the rejuvenator i use is called trim ultra by autosmart it loves plastics doesn't run when wet or washing and for trim and rubbers i use glow plus has no silicone in it as has a great shine and very long lasting 😉😁 just my 3 cents worth and keep up the good work 👍
Definitely impressed with the products you used here - I have what seems like a mile of black trim on my truck and I'm always fighting the "fade" situation. Will have to give them a shot. And that intro...hahah, cracked me right up...
Wiper blades, I use soap and water and rinse, is there a better way to keep them in good cleaning order. Now for the part that will make you hiss every time you get East of the Missouri River and West of the Mississippi River. As I have a Soul 2015, lots of plastic and the funny grey turning white trim (like me, it is a race to see if my hair goes totally grey, or fall out first) I use (sit down, brace yourself, maybe have Sarah nearby with a cold water towel) Plasti Dip. Goes on nice, is not glossy, mine has lasted three years, but I think I am going to have to redo the read bumper. Nice thing is, you just peel that right off your trim, put on some pre-dip, and pick a different color (or the same color) (I am boring, I stayed with a graphite black color as the hamster is grey -- it is after all the Grandpa Minivan)
Hi Sarah. Can you maybe do plastic restoration on much older cars. Your scoobie is still new (relatively). I have a 1989 Italian car with plenty of old trim. Would be great to get your input on how to restore that.
Hey Sarah! Do you know how to (or even if it's possible) restore the rubber coating in some interior door handles, radio and other control knobs? Many Saab and Volvo have this kind of material and after some years it starts to peel off giving these parts a very unpleasant look. Thank you.
Great work as usual!! Haven't tried Nanolex products, my go to for faded trim is Solution Finish. For newer, good condition trim I prefer CarPro DLux. Ohh was that a coating applicator block you used to apply to the bumper? If you would have wrapped that with a suede cloth you may have used less product and saved the applicator. Keep the content coming!!
If you want it to last longer than any spray or gel, They have some good plastic trim and Bumper paint then you will never have to worry about getting wax on them.
Very off topic Sarah. Have you though of doing a sleeve on your left side? I know it's a lot or work , time, pain, dedication and cost but I think you can pull it off and look gorgeous! Great video by the way. Your a perfectionist like myself! I dig all the content.
Wow, I was in Tucson two weeks ago, o offered to have you do my trim. But you didn't respond. Also I needed my car detailed, haha. I see by the machine hanging in your garage, you know the Tucson loop. I conquered eighty miles of it. First long ride in a year after some personal injuries I was dealing with. Got to cow back with my rode bike next time and conquer it all.
I can totally relate to being obsessed about detailing a car. You may need intervention, but you are not alone. It may have been a "basic" product application video but your approach and editing always makes it fun to watch.
I love the passion you put into all the details. Keep it up! Can't wait for car detailing season.

Works great!
Great videos!
Caio!
As someone who works in manufacturing/packaging AND works on cars I wish I could keep mine that nice lol
Solution finish is the best stuff out there. It actually restores the trim instead of just dressing it.
Who doesn't have some faded plastic to work with? Timely and needed. Thanks. Thumbs up!
Dang, look at those door jambs! They are spotless.

Basically a fun video!
Full of innuendo..
Thanks for the laughs!
I gave you a shout-out on outback.org. The forum had a question on plastic trim cleaning and restoration.
Dluxbfrom Carpro is a semi permanent coating for plastics but can also be used on rims. very hydrophobic and works good
I love the detail videos, please keep them coming
Sarah and you guys all do you recommend full body ceramic coating? Especially if the car is new black. Please share me your opinion.. thanks

Yes... I don't want any shiny dirt either! Great advice!!
Great video as usual Sarah. I recently started using Mannett’s Megashine. It is an excellent trim treatment.

I sure enjoy watching all your videos, you're funny and very smart.
love the specific videos, and the little blooper bit you add at the end.
I’m gonna need a few gallons for my JK, no seriously it looks really good. Thank you!!
Really enjoying the humour in your vids.
Also glad to see you didn't get too much of a shiner from your garage door attacking you in your last video.
Great video. Looks like I have a lot of work ! Hair looks great to me.

Ever tryed heatgun on sun faded plastic. You can paint it black again with the hot air, try it on the old audi bumber.
Cracked me up, and taught me that even working on trim can be fun :) .. thank you
Girl, you know your jokes are 🔥 fire, 2020 rewatch.

Any suggestions on restoring/cleaning door and window gaskets?
Love your videos! Have you detailed any Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited’s? Will you do a video on detailing the engine and engine compartment?
Great video, thanks! Can you do a video about restoring older more worn out trim? My car is 14 years old and the trim is somewhat faded. Thanks!
Solution Finish is great for worn faded trim. It will restore trim to it's original deep black color. Give it a try.
Thanks for another fantastic video Sarah! Your intros are hilarious :-)
The black trim on my BMW's has always been a pain to keep in good condition.
I'll try these tips.
Great video Sarah 😁

Detailing is crazy obsessive! That rabbit hole comment was legit.

Lol. That’s what I told a coworker about detailing going down the rabbit hole 🤓
Thank you Sara, I enjoy your videos very much. Thanks for sharing.

Great video, could you make one where you restore interior plastics?
Del Super I did already. It’s in my MR2 playlist.
Hey Sarah what's a good way to get rid of surf wax from interior plastics? Dunno if it helps but I have a Crosstrek.
How's the longevity on that? Does it stick to the trim reasonably long? 🤔🤔
You should get some solution finish for all the black trim. It'll restore all faded trims
Could you make a video just driving around Tucson ,Great Video Sarah
Nice video. Your car is always so spotless! And first thing I noticed in this video is how nice your hair looked! 😊
eric isa thanks, it had dust in it from the garage floor that hopefully no one notices😂

Lo mejor para restaurar plásticos es vaselina líquida diluida con aceite W40.
