I agree him and venom sure they were the main villains in the comics but in a show where it focuses more on the side characters then the villains goblin is great
The best part is, Harry’s frame up was Norman being sloppy. The fact that Peter blurted out “I know you’re Norman Osborn” to the Green Goblin, alerting Gobby that if he was unable to kill Spidey that night, he had to throw the fight and run home as that would be the first place Spider-Man would investigate. Norman was just lucky that Harry was passed out as his alibi at the time was the Goblin was limping, I’m not. After seeing how they handled the Green Goblin mystery, if they got to do the Hobgoblin mystery...my god it would have been AMAZING.
the show relies on the audience's expectation that the goblin causes blackouts like in the 2001 Spiderman movie. just because one movie caused blackouts doesn't mean it happens across the board, but a lot of people thought it did (I know I certainly did)
My favorite villain is the Sandman, he's just great. But they way I see it, the Green substance is an enhancer, and I agree with you that it doesn't make Norman Osborn crazy. The Green Substance enhances Norman Osborn's psychosis to a level 10. But, the thing against the Green Goblin is his motivation.
LewisFilms Yeah, as a kid I was okay with green goblin but Venom, he did freaked me out as a kid with his transformation from Spider-Man 3 but I do like him but yeah
Really good analysis. It’s kind of my headcanon that in order to get the power he always wanted, Norman had to create the “professional businessman” persona, but realized that having power came at the expense of his true personality, so he lets the Green Goblin be the outlet of his true self
Pausing the Green Goblin story after Harry was seemingly revealed as the Goblin was genius. It really lets the audience sit with it and accept "Harry was the Goblin, and that story line is over". Even that brief hallucination of the Goblin that Peter had when Harry came back really just cemented the idea. Perfectly planned and executed.
Actually I guess you could say it was because josh Keaton Was supposed to come back but got replaced by Drake Bell So technically it’s the same Spiderman
You know what makes Norman more psychotic is that this man is fighting spider-man who is also a kid he wishes was his son instead of Harry, this man is battling a kid. And they did it way more intense in no way home
This essay is not very good. The stuff he talks about isn’t properly set up by him, I often lose what he is talking about, he does not describe situations adequately enough and most of his conclusions are poorly explained.
@@zemox2534 He was clear about conclusions that made no sense. There hardly any connective tissue and it was beyond subpar in terms of engagment and interest. Having seen countless TH-cam Video Essays this one is beyond subpar. I’m an English Literature teacher so I think I know what I’m talking about.
@@ajwebhead21 I understood completely what he was saying. But he explained his conclusions in terrible ways, he did a bad job at keeping his points connected and there was hardly any setup to any of what he was jumping into. I’m an English Literature teacher so I know what I’m talking about child.
@Aggelos Anastasoulakis I’m a teacher of English Literature. I understood everything. But his explanations and conclusions were embarrassingly done. It was terrible how little setup and reasons were given.
Green goblin was probably the best villain on this show.
Spectacular Spider-Comic he definitely was

In the first episode when he was threatened by Vulture and he answered, " I never apologize " that moment I knew this Norman was a badass!
That was a badass moment

2002 not 2001
