    I have a Honda Talon 1000R, and it's not 72 inches wide, it's 68.4 inches wide. The Talon 1000R is also 5 inches longer than the Talon 1000X. I love my Talon!!

    I was originally a little skeptical of the Talon, but the more time that goes on the more I dig this machine. It's definitely a good build.

    As mentioned below, the motor on the brakes is for their i-4WD. It applies the brake on the spinning wheel to transfer torque to the wheel with more traction. This probably helps to reduce driveline shock and prevent breakage. Probably not as good as a locked differential in extreme mud, but for traction in articulated situation should work well enough for most. I have something similar in the front diff of my Toyota and its fine when articulating in good traction surfaces, but not as good as a diff lock in deep mud or snow.

    Having a lot of experience with drive belts the fact it doesn’t have one is the biggest factor for me. When I finally decide on a new rig choice of rigs will be rather simple, no belt! That kind of narrows the field down. Good vid.👍👍👍

      I’m with you, I’ve driven a friends Yamaha and it was great, and if all I did was the dunes still and high speed I’d probably go with it. He’s got a newer one with the lower first gear but it’s still hurting a bit on certain rock trails. One of out club members is taking dele Rey in a Talon R model soon, he’s had 4 other SXS’s and when I get his feedback (and a drive?) I’ll make my secession. The Yamaha was a hoot though. Thanks for the input.

    The utilization of hard brake lines is to improve pedal. Flex lines tend to allow for a spongy pedal. Their system that uses Honda's i4WD like on the Pioneer 1000LE uses the brakes to send power to the non-slipping wheel in the front instead of having a locking front diff.

      Fully produced for television vs unscripted and in-depth walk arounds. We have a limited time that TV segments must meet, but have more freedom to go long on TH-cam. I feel like there's a place for both versions, which gives you the option to watch either or both.

    The unit the brake lines run into is a hydraulic control unit which does all the magic for the I 4 wheel drive.

  • @rholly123
    @rholly123 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The valve with the brake lines and motor you guys were looking at under the hood is an electronic brake valve modulator. It works with their fancy 4wd system (name?)and possibly the pulsing felt in the brake pedal when smashing it down is probably Honda’s version of ABS. Every modern car or truck has one.

    • @nathansummers1802
      @nathansummers1802 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ryan , it’s the I4WD system.. like limited slip almost except brake controlled.. if on of the front start spinning, it applies brake pressure to it to force the other side to get traction

    I saw that Kawasaki has a sport SxS in the works too. That will definitely be interesting to see. Right now only the schematics or " blueprints" of it has been released. I think Honda has just woken Kawasaki up from its sleep. It appears to be a 1000cc triple.

    One thing that I think many people overlook, is that companies like Polaris and Can-Am have been in this segment for how many years, and are just getting to these 100+hp numbers, and here Honda smacks the talon on the table with 104hp on YEAR 1!

    I Think The Dual Clutch Will Be Best Used When Rock Crawling. When You Watch A CVT Try To Slowly Crawl Over An Obstacle It Just Can’t Do It. You Can’t Fineness The Throttle Control Like You Can With A DCT.

  • @romyenglish

    Look guys, Honda never had the fastest, more this ore that. They had reliability. I wouldn't buy a Polaris dead. I've seen them with their fancy RZR back into the service and spending a bunch. I would stick with a Honda. Plenty of power. Enough for me
