- We take the highly anticipated 2021 Honda Talon 1000X Fox Live Valve edition SXS into the mountains of Montana for an in-depth review in our latest Real World Rides series.
The Honda Talon series of sport SXS models grows in 2021 to include FOX Live Valve Edition options across the board. The Talon 1000R, Talon 1000X, and Talon 1000X-4 now all have a FOX Live Valve-suspended version.
For us, taking the Honda Talon 1000X to the mountains has always been a testing goal. Adding in the FOX Live Valve functionality should be impressive. Imagine a UTV with Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) performance, i-4WD traction, Launch Mode, Hill Start Assist, AND FOX Live Valve suspension. That's a potent combination!
In true Real World Rides fashion, we're not simply testing the newest Honda Talon SXS by ourselves here. Nope! We've enlisted a few guest test drivers for this review including our featured guest couple, Cody and Christie Marks out of Clancy, Montana.

So shock therapy said this is the worst side x side rear suspension set up you can buy. He said they can not even fix it.
I saw that also. But it was last year’s model. Maybe they improved. ??

I have been shopping for a utv and would like some guidance. I like to rock crawl, mud and race. Whats some of the best strongest units out there ?
I have the Honda Talon four seater live valve addition and my buddies have Can-Am‘s, Yamaha. The Honda does amazing in the trails but it needs a turbo when you take it to the dunes. The suspension is nice but it definitely beats you up going through the whoops and the dunes. The four seater definitely jumps better than the rest of them. I’ve owned it for a year and honestly the more I drive at the more I like it
