"So as you can see, they are much too big for the board...so I decided to make my own chess pieces.." said no one else, ever.
Amazing. 👍👍
The thing I love most about your videos is that you use stuff from poundworld and hobbycraft which makes you seem more real a lot of woodworking youtubers use expensive stuff which doesn't make it as relatable!
SuperKarinaG thank you!
I've seen a lot of comments like this lately. Bums me out that people are judging negatively because a woodworker uses tools that are more expensive than they personally think a person should spend on woodworking. :(
Pete Brown I don't judge because someone uses expensive items it just is more relatable and seems possible for my to achieve the same products as them if they use affordable tools and materials
Really impressed the way the chest pieces came out - looking forward to part three.
Really happy to hear a momentary blast of Mr Jukes in the background. Great project by the way. Thanks for your videos
When you mention Poundworld and Hobbycraft I know you could be in the queue next to me. It brings your videos to life rather than mentioning Festool or Veritas which are way out of the price range of most hobby Woodworkers. Great video as always.
UK Tony thank you!
Love the simple style of the pieces, very effective. Your comparison of knights to a moomin made me laugh out loud and feel old at the same time. I remember the Moomins first time round :-) Waiting in anticipation for part three.
Thanks Stephen!
This my favourite project to date, loving the design and skills in making the pieces! Amazing job Kieth, your channel just jumps forward with every project!!!
we don't know a Kieth here !!!! lol
love this. its minimalistic and beautiful.
Good and simple design, and no doubt will be easy to handle when playing chess with them, well done and keep your projects coming
I like it Keith. Looking forward to part 3.
I was just about to say how much the horses reminded me of a moomin, then you mentioned it! ha ha, well done though
Looking good. Really enjoying this series.
Very impressive! Great design for the pieces
+Mark S. thank you!
Dude they came out pretty cool! Kudos.
Awsome! Really like the dogs...... I mean horses
That is a beautiful set!
Nice project sir, well done!
As a life long woodworker who operated woodworking machine in the 1970 and 80 back cutting on a bandsaw is a perfectly acceptable practice as long as you are a skilled operator.
Excellent, real nice work ! i am guessing the groove in the back of the chess pieces are so they can be held in place in their new box ?!
JSTR just call me Quincy
JSTR maybe Dempsey and makepeace , fancy being Dempsey ?
You're bang on!
I was waiting for this! Cheers for posting!
Awesome project, very nice series! Are there any more 'gaming' related projects coming? You seem to have a knack for them.
+Guido Dresmé thank you! No more planned at the moment
@Rag 'n' Bone Brown , how do you go about identifying the things you find? Did you just take the table home and then look it up, or could you tell it was beech as soon as you saw it? I salvage a lot of wood from skips and the like, but have no clue what a lot of it is, did you do a course of some kind, or just pick it up over time?
Nice job Keith.
When I have a lot of small pieces to finish, I toss them into a ziploc bag and pour in my finish. A few minutes of shaking gets everything covered. Then let them dry.
+Matthew Herrmann great tip! I should try that
Looks great man. Have to say though the knights look like Batman. Pretty cool
The felt is the cherry on the cake
Brilliant yet again. 👍🏼😊
Those knights turned out nice for someone who can't draw well. Don't sell yourself short.
agree
A pleasure to watch. I loved the Moomin comment :-)
great project
Great video. I'd love to have patterns for the pieces.
Great job! 👍 Awsome chesspieces! Did you ever consider investing in a scrollsaw?
I don’t have space unfortunately
I could understand that! I do have a scrollsaw and would love to to have a lathe, but there's no room! You seem to have a nice shop, a lot neater than mine! Keep the great vids coming brother!
very creative
Brilliant
Hi, do you have small plans for chess piece? :) I wish try to make like yours
Haha, was literally typing a moonmin comment when you said it. Awesome anyway
Do you write the dimensions of the chess pieces
Buen trabajo 👍
5:44 very dangerous my guy
You do realise that when you were shaping the bishops' heads you were making mitre cuts.
4 years and no comments? I appreciate your humor.
Maybe you can make some top hats for the moomins!...
+Family haha good idea
How do you know all the different woods ? I'm a trainee carpenter and I can't get the hang of it
+Pyro killer I don't really, I only know what I know by looking up on the wood database online - and I could be wrong!
Batman is in the set
gabriel dai came here to point it out
Eubio Junior also looks like a capivara lol
gabriel dai batmoomin!
Where´s the third part? Is it not available?
+Marcus Valério Garutti episodes every Friday
Ok, thank you. I´ll wait for that.
Hahahahah moomin 😆 sorry yeah.. totally agree
Awesome, the knights look like your cat
Are you sure that’s a horse😂

0:19 That pawn must've had a very strict religious upbringing.
That's because it's a bishop from the Lewis chess set.

No Steve clamp was used in this project.....
+Kevin Clarke haha!
The knights kinda look like batman to me
the knights look like batman
Heliocentric
