  • Why I use the Fujifilm WCL X100II conversion lens on my X100V for street photography. It a very versatile and easy to use addition to the X100V. Do you see the WCL or the TCL as a companion to the x100V (F)? Comment below and let us know your views on the use of conversion lens.

I think the reason your changed "focal length" isn't showing in the metadata is because it is not actually changed. A digital zoom is not the same as an analog zoom where the focal length changes, a digital zoom is the same as taking the photo with the camera's actual focal length and then cropping the image after the fact. The reason that is different is because the focal length is not only about the "zoom level", it's also about the field of view, the angle at how your environment enters your camera. That is noticable for example when you shoot faces, if you shoot a person with a real 70 mm lens and then shoot the same with a 23 mm lens where you then use digital zoom to get the same "zoom level" as the 70 mm lens, the face will look much more flattering with the real 70 mm, the face proportions will not be the same. So I think everything is as it should be actually ☺️

What a great review. I didn’t see any other reviewer mentioning the digital zoom!

I recently added WCL to my x100v as well. Love the looks of it, as well as wider view. Just awesome!

Thanks for the insight. My x100v will arrive tomorrow so I am pretty excited. This WCL (or TCL) might be a nice addition now...

Sweet vid.👍 Say, I have noticed that ‘X’ hotshot cover on a number of similar videos featuring a variety of Fuji cameras, but no luck locating one, any clues? 1:12

Cool video, thanks! You can see the focal length in c1 if prior in the menu you tell the camera what focal length conversion lens you screwed on:)

really like seeing the WCL adapter - one of the reasons I would like a X100 - to have a camera that's just as compact then have a small 2nd lens to change the focal length quicly
