I have a fond memory of my first fight with Bayle - I was determined to go through the DLC with the new dragon form, so I forced myself to defeat him early, with very few Scadutree Fragments. I finally managed it by using the Bone Bow and the Repeating Crossbow both with bleed projectiles, since those did percentage-based damage. This ranged approach meant I was highly dependent upon Igon to tank Bayle for me, but most of the time he would just monologue and walk around the arena slowly, which inspired the sequence at 50:33. One of the things that makes me think the Dragon Priestess has new motivation for serving you is that she only does so after you kill Bayle. Like she realizes in you is the chance at a new DragonLord. All she has to do is wait. If drake hearts can turn warriors even Trolls into Magma wyrms. Who is to say what Bayle's heart will do to you? Perhaps you shall be an even greater dragon than her lord.
A theory of mine is that if we look at the way Placidusax's heads are clamped on to the Bayle's back, it looks like Bayle only bit one off during combat and Placidusax was trying it's hardest to prevent Bayle from escaping by constricting Bayle with all the other heads biting onto him which ended up with Placidusax's anger combined with sheer force of Bayle's hatred and will to live resulting in Bayle dragging Placidusax's hardly locked two heads during getting away and ripping them off in the process. Another thing I find cool is that forever clamped down heads of Placidusax on Bayle's back symbolizes how he is constantly getting bothered by the forces Placidusax created just to get rid of him and his descendants.
I’ve got a theory that Placidusax was Lord before the schism of the 2 & 3 Fingers. I think there was an original 5 Fingers, the hand of the Greater Will matching the 5 heads of the dragon. Upon his… not defeat, but lack of victory over Bayle, the 5 Fingers split, possibly partially succumbing to Frenzy at this failure of their Lord. Then whoever was Placidusax’s god, panicked seeing Frenzy that can destroy gods, called down a meteor strike to try to destroy it, and fled into hiding. The meteor blasted Farum Azula into its strange gravity well, but didn’t kill the 3 Fingers, who tried to destroy the god as it fled. The god hid underground and succumbed to its wounds, forming the Deeproot Depths and leaving behind glowing runes in the form of the Erdtree.
Just a note on Placidusax's "defeat"- If his goal was to defeat/kill Bayle, and he failed to do so, he was defeated. That is quite literally a definition of defeat. This is precisely why Malenia's claim that she "has never known defeat" is also wrong. She was sent to kill Radahn, and he yet lives. She was defeated. Defeat- To cause someone or something to fail. Definition B2 under the Cambridge English Dictionary.
This is kinda conflicted by a lot of the new finger lore, though. Metyr is way more than 5 fingers and predates the arrival of the Elden Beast star, and we learn that fingers in general are just weird aliens and they're all related to each other. Perhaps Placidusax having 5 heads was auspicious and part of why he was considered pretty smart amongst dragons, but to say he has anything to do with fingers is more of a stretch. The most we can say is that he, like most Elden Lords, may have sought their guidance - but this is not founded nor would it make sense given what we know of draconic society. There is a lot that we can't understand regarding the Greater Will and all the strange and somewhat contradictory things it sends to the Lands Between. However, we do know that at some point that all fingers no longer feel the guidance of the Greater Will. I find it more convincing that it's this lack of guidance that lead some fingers - namely three-fingers - to find other prophecies and messages. Most outer gods are discovered in desperation, after all.

Normally i want to try beating bosses by myself, or see how far i can go without help, but i couldn't stop summoning Igon for every attempt, just because he motivated me with his speech so hard. Bayle was such a cool fight, but without Igon it wouldn't have been as epic!

Little half baked theory here, could the ancient meteoric blade be the arrowhead of the thing that killed the great drake? I just find the fact that we find a giant arrowhead and a giant arrow with no arrowhead a somewhat strange coincidence.
Very hard to say for a lot of reasons. The huge drake might still just have the head of whatever's piercing it still lodged inside. There's definitely something to that weapon though. I'm somewhat leaning to the idea that the Ruined Forges are not Hornsent constructions, but instead Rauh ruins that poke to the surface. All Ruined Forges have no surface entrances, and are instead forcefully burrowed into by those who want to get inside. Regardless, I think we need to figure out what these Ruined Forges are first, which will help us figure out what this sword is actually from and what "Old Gods" it's talking about. "Gods" plural also makes me think Rauh and pre-Elden Ring society, but perhaps it's intended that we can't know.

I don't understand the reasoning behind the Omen being a "curveball from the Crucible of Life", I have to admit. They're a curse from the Hornsent. It's literally, explicitly stated by the Hornsent Granddam when you kill her before fighting/defeating the Dancing Lion. Their origins are not in the least bit unclear anymore Unless you mean the Hornsent themselves? But then why call them Omen...
Funny enough, "curveballs" could probably describe all other Crucible creatures except for the Omen, who were plagued with nightmares and tainted blood in addition to their bodies. All others seem to be random emergences or descendants of Crucible creatures.
This is probably true, although it doesn't really undermine the points Vaati made later. Maybe a better way to think of it is that the Omen curse was fashioned with the power of the crucible, since it still manifests in the ways that the crucible does. You could even consider it a dark twisting of the crucible - horns that grow fast and painfully and dangerously rather than cleanly and specifically like on normal Hornsent. He was also more just saying that the Crucible, being a magical version of the forces of evolution, alters all life on the planet spontaneously. This is an interesting consideration, since it's antithetical to the stasis of Ancient Dragons but also the Golden Order. I like this theory that the Crucible is an indigenous force of the Lands Between, while Order is something more alien.
Bayle went to kill Placidusax and considering his strength up till then there was likely nothing that ever caused him trouble. He was sure of himself that he is going to end the dragon lord, but he met his match and was pushed to his very limits. At some point after suffering all those injuries, for the first time ever, the thought must have crossed his mind „I might not win. I might actually die here“. And for the first probably ever, he felt fear. He was not ready to win or die trying. And so he fled the fight of his life….you could say…….he Bayled. *padum tsss*
Yessss!! I knew from the moment I stepped into the Jagged Peak area, that the entire Prehistoric/Dragon lore would be absolutely expanded upon and recontextualised. As soon as I found out that I was correct, I just KNEW that Vaati was going to have to revamp his dragon video that came out only mere months before the DLCs release lol
I realy like the aspect of the dragons' plan showcasing how differently they perceive time. To us humans such a convoluted plan would seem needlessly complicated and prone to failure, making such a wait to see it bear fruit seem unfathomable. But to Placidusax, who is immortal, it feels like only yesterday that he came up with it and put it to the test, such a wait for him and other immortal dragons is rather trivial.

I personally like to think that drakes/mortal dragons have evolved to hunt each other, due to the baby drakes in dragonbarrow not dropping dragon hearts, having smaller horns, and lacking fire breath, they're young and recently born. Maybe when they reach a certain age they grow the longer, piercing horn to hunt their kin and extract trace amounts of gravel stone, developing fire breath, (and maybe extending their lifespan) possibly leading to them growing and becoming like greyoll and the nameless giant dragon in a final lifecycle stage to produce a litter (greyoll drops 5 hearts, so either its a freak mutation or they have killed) Additionally the description for dragon communion flesh (which is crafted from sharp gravel stone, which mentions "ancient" dragons that consume their lesser kin) says that it is AN IMITATION OF DRAGONSCALE FLESH, which drops from jagged peak drakes and mentions "aged dragons", maybe ancient/aged really means older, drakes that have hunted more of their kin and thus gained far more gravel stone, one of the jagged peak drakes is even attacking another drake, perhaps in a form of hunting. So baby drake --> adult with horn --> develop dragon heart & fire breath from killing drakes and getting gravel stone --> kill more --> become big from it and produce a huge amount of baby dragons Or maybe im reading way too much into the horn on dragons, either way I personally believe that the jagged peak is a cesspool of cannibalism for the drakes to grow strong and mature
My boy Igon screaming during this fight was the best motivation I could ask, what an incredible fight! After dying six times in a row I was still thinking "COMMON MY FRIEND, WE CAN DO IT!!!!!". And, eventually, we did. RIP Igon, I wish you could be there to motivate me through the entire game. lol
My little theory about all the drakes flying outside Farum Azula is they're there as an open show of defiance. That no matter what Placidusax and his dragons do, the drakes will never be fully eradicated. And what better place to display this defiance than on the dragon lords' doorstep?
I always thought that the giant spike in the dragon was one of the "arrows of the old gods" mentioned in the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword. Now that I think about it though, it's certainly still possible but less likely considering the composition of that greatsword is completely different.

I think it's important to note that the game says Placidusax's God *was* fled, not that Placidusax's God fled. "Fled" typically means that you or someone ran away from something. One definition on Merriam-Webster says it could mean "to pass away swiftly." I'm not sure if there's some sort of translation issue from Japanese to English here, but if you heard "pass away swiftly" I'm sure you'd likely think "died quickly" or "died suddenly." However in this context I think "was fled" is more so meant to be another way of saying "was vanished." Vanishment was forced onto this god. They're not quite dead, didn't exactly leave on their own, but suddenly gone.

3:23 i think this part is not a coincident. Queen Marika and all the following Elden Lords are all human in form, on way or another. so it could be that the cosmic essence of the elden beast tries to mimic whatever is the dominant life form, maybe in an attempt to make it not so alien to its vassals.
33:31 Is a very cool theory, but i think it may be Florisaax's draconic weapon. Ancient dragons are known to have weapons, like the cragblade and granssax spear, so it's not too out of place. The fulgurite still fits as well since they're imbued with ancient dragons' red lightning.
I think the single biggest piece of world building that I want to see filled in is whether the “greater will” is something more than just another outer god. In many ways we see these outer gods referenced in ways that never seem to directly compete with the greater will. It’s also super unclear to me is how wide is the world in which the “lands between” is located. I get confused because there are distant countries referenced plenty but never their geographical relation to the lands between. It almost comes across as a pocket dimension which can be reached/escaped relatively simply by “crossing the fog” presumably by boat. Idk just seems like a weird part of the world information to leave so convoluted. And also the greater will is tied to creation itself in a lot of ways but it’s tough to separate how much of that is true and how much is religious dogma considering the existence of the crucible, unless that was something in itself specific to the lands between. Even the points I’ve already posed create too many questions to bother going further in this comment but idk. This isn’t very cohesive but if anybody has any thoughts to share on whatever part of this comment I’d be grateful.
What if that big stake in the giant dragon's head in 33:17 is a lightning rod? Like, the dragon was so fierce of a foe that no attack could really damage it, so something or someone managed to lodge this big rod in the dragon's head, which then was zapped by a thunder, frying the dragon's head internally. Maybe the thunder was so strong that the dragon's heart exploded out of his chest.
If Placidusax really had the full power of the Elden Ring, it shows Bayle is truly one powerful "lesser dragon". He may be weak when we approach him. But he made sure to show us what REAL dragon power is like. "CURSE YOU BAYLE"
Whatever be the composition of the weapon that took out the giant drake near the communion altar, to me it is not a stake or a harpoon, but what remains of a blade-shaped weapon, as we can clearly see a tang on its tip. It would be quite a blunt weapon as it is, but what about the stone formations? What about them being the remainings of the blade of this weapon after being deteriorated by lightning and time? Would make sense to me.
I love the concept of dragon communion. Reminds me of the legend of "Siegfried the dragonslayer". Who bathed in a dragons blood, gaining its power, scales and becoming invulnerable. Yet he was incomplete due to one leaf falling on one spot of his body, making him scaleless and vulnerable at this spot. In elden ring, you consume the thing through which all blood flows eventualy, a heart.
I haven't finished the video yet but I want to point out before I forget: You mentioned the giant dragon at the communion site could have died by lightning because of the strange stone around the spike. My thoughts immediately went to Bayle's death animation, which includes him being struck by lightning before he fades away.
Im actually more interested in the construction of the various locations, such horrifyingly huge palaces and pillars, platforms, makes me wonder how many years and labours it took to build them

33:19 that would kinda make sense since copper when oxidized causes green pigmentation, although it's called patina, but yes verdigris can also be produced in a different way by also using copper. And copper can be a very good conductor of electricity. Maybe these large harpoons where made by the communion warriors then imbued with the lightning of the Ancient dragons.
No matter what the lore reason behind it, the fact that Placi is not considered a dragon by anti-dragon attacks, and Placi's Ruin is not a Dragon Communion Incantation still makes me salty

I know you're joking, but apparently people who looked into the code found that Bayle has the highest scaling in the DLC, similar to how Malenia has higher scaling than the Elden Beast. So... By technicality, he is indeed the last boss of the DLC. His actual difficulty doesn't represent this at all, though.
The idea that Miyazaki just pulled Radahn’s resurrection out of his ass is delusional. Yes, none of us saw it coming and every lore theorist was wrong. But the foreshadowing was there from the beginning, we just missed it. Why did Radahn worship Godfrey instead of his own father, Radagon? Because Godfrey was the original consort when Marika became a God. This was always his fate. To become a consort to the God of a new age regardless of which demigod would emerge as that God. I.e. the new Godfrey. Miq’s hair in phase 2 was a direct aesthetic illusion to Serosh on the back of Godfrey.

I like the idea that the Fingers gave beasts intelligence, since that's what happened in real life as well, when the ancestors of humans developed fingers by climbing trees - probably could explain why trees are godlike entities in elden ring, since trees gave birth to the evolution of fingers, and through fingers, tool use and intelligence developed in humans
Honestly one of my favorite parts of the DLC was how it recontextualizes things from the base game when it comes to dragons; why Dragon Communion is a thing and why we only can collect the hearts of dragons (and Magma Wyrms, people who were Dragon Communion warriors), and even just more of an explanation on Placidusax and how he got so injured in the first place. I can only imagine what he and Bayle were like in their prime before they maimed one another.
Okay yeah Igon yells a lot and everything, but let's be real, the highlight of Jagged Peak is Florissax. I'd take "bless me bae" than "curse you bayle" any day of the week
We all praise the "CUUUURSE YOUUUUU BAYYYYYLE!" as well we should. But let's also give some credit to Igon's words after the fight. GRAAAAAAAAHHH! BAYLE THE DREAD... YOU SHALL HAUNT ME NO LONGER! The dude is weeping. All the hate, all the adrenaline is pumping out of him. Finally there will be peace. Unlike Bayle who will continue rebelling forever, we managed to help Igon find some calm.
The segment of the Dragon's Calorbloom reminded me of a head canon I had about the flowers within the Soul of Cinder boss area. With all the weapons strewn about, surely others had been here before us. The flowers then bloomed from ashes of those who failed to defeat the Soul of Cinder and/or kindle the flame. We fight upon the ashes (the bodies) of those who came before us and failed against the manifestation of those who came before us and succeeded. Ash upon ash against ash...it's no wonder the world seemed so gray.
My personal headcannon that is pretty much just all speculation, is that the Elden Stars incantation actually refers to Metyr and she is in fact the god who fled from Placidusax. What better initial vessel for the Elden Ring than the daughter of the Greater Will, plus I have more so seen the Elden Beast as more of a defense mechanism to protect the Elden Ring, rather than some creature that can act on it's own accord. There is also an attack that Metyr does, where she slams the ground and this tentacle like pattern that looks similar to the bottom of the Elden Ring depicted in Malekith's bossroom appears on the ground and then explodes, similar to how Radagon does those rune slam attacks. Also they are different in color than Metyr's standard attacks.
It’s very funny bc the sentiment of the horned elder mentioned around 15:00 kind of relates to the sentiment of the flame of frenzy, to burn away everything in a sort of catharsis. I haven't played the dlc yet but from all the lore videos I've seen. My theory is that Bayle was the one betrayed due to him being different, so if Plasidex had a god wouldn't that make the god turn it's back to him? It just seems the dragon lord was the one who caused all the problems then went and turned around to create a witch hunt towards the drakes or any dragon that sided with Bayle.
At 13:33, you mention Eochaid, and it would be very interesting if you made a video based on the lands outside the Lands Between, such as Eochaid, the Badlands, the Land of Reeds, and the land where the Nox came from.

A theory of mine is that if we look at the way Placidusax's heads are clamped on to the Bayle's back, it looks like Bayle only bit one off during combat and Placidusax was trying it's hardest to prevent Bayle from escaping by constricting Bayle with all the other heads biting onto him which ended up with Placidusax's anger combined with sheer force of Bayle's hatred and will to live resulting in Bayle dragging Placidusax's hardly locked two heads during getting away and ripping them off in the process.
Another thing I find cool is that forever clamped down heads of Placidusax on Bayle's back symbolizes how he is constantly getting bothered by the forces Placidusax created just to get rid of him and his descendants.

I'm really proud of my phone. I started typing a sentence with "I" and the recommended words (still in all caps) were "HEREBY VOW"
I’ve got a theory that Placidusax was Lord before the schism of the 2 & 3 Fingers. I think there was an original 5 Fingers, the hand of the Greater Will matching the 5 heads of the dragon. Upon his… not defeat, but lack of victory over Bayle, the 5 Fingers split, possibly partially succumbing to Frenzy at this failure of their Lord. Then whoever was Placidusax’s god, panicked seeing Frenzy that can destroy gods, called down a meteor strike to try to destroy it, and fled into hiding. The meteor blasted Farum Azula into its strange gravity well, but didn’t kill the 3 Fingers, who tried to destroy the god as it fled. The god hid underground and succumbed to its wounds, forming the Deeproot Depths and leaving behind glowing runes in the form of the Erdtree.
Just a note on Placidusax's "defeat"-
If his goal was to defeat/kill Bayle, and he failed to do so, he was defeated. That is quite literally a definition of defeat. This is precisely why Malenia's claim that she "has never known defeat" is also wrong. She was sent to kill Radahn, and he yet lives. She was defeated.

This is kinda conflicted by a lot of the new finger lore, though. Metyr is way more than 5 fingers and predates the arrival of the Elden Beast star, and we learn that fingers in general are just weird aliens and they're all related to each other. Perhaps Placidusax having 5 heads was auspicious and part of why he was considered pretty smart amongst dragons, but to say he has anything to do with fingers is more of a stretch. The most we can say is that he, like most Elden Lords, may have sought their guidance - but this is not founded nor would it make sense given what we know of draconic society.
There is a lot that we can't understand regarding the Greater Will and all the strange and somewhat contradictory things it sends to the Lands Between. However, we do know that at some point that all fingers no longer feel the guidance of the Greater Will. I find it more convincing that it's this lack of guidance that lead some fingers - namely three-fingers - to find other prophecies and messages. Most outer gods are discovered in desperation, after all.

Little half baked theory here, could the ancient meteoric blade be the arrowhead of the thing that killed the great drake?
I just find the fact that we find a giant arrowhead and a giant arrow with no arrowhead a somewhat strange coincidence.
Very hard to say for a lot of reasons. The huge drake might still just have the head of whatever's piercing it still lodged inside.
There's definitely something to that weapon though. I'm somewhat leaning to the idea that the Ruined Forges are not Hornsent constructions, but instead Rauh ruins that poke to the surface. All Ruined Forges have no surface entrances, and are instead forcefully burrowed into by those who want to get inside.
Regardless, I think we need to figure out what these Ruined Forges are first, which will help us figure out what this sword is actually from and what "Old Gods" it's talking about. "Gods" plural also makes me think Rauh and pre-Elden Ring society, but perhaps it's intended that we can't know.

I don't understand the reasoning behind the Omen being a "curveball from the Crucible of Life", I have to admit. They're a curse from the Hornsent. It's literally, explicitly stated by the Hornsent Granddam when you kill her before fighting/defeating the Dancing Lion. Their origins are not in the least bit unclear anymore

yup. not everything that grows horns are ‘Omens’. Just the ones that are specifically cursed by the Hornsent people
Funny enough, "curveballs" could probably describe all other Crucible creatures except for the Omen, who were plagued with nightmares and tainted blood in addition to their bodies. All others seem to be random emergences or descendants of Crucible creatures.
This is probably true, although it doesn't really undermine the points Vaati made later. Maybe a better way to think of it is that the Omen curse was fashioned with the power of the crucible, since it still manifests in the ways that the crucible does. You could even consider it a dark twisting of the crucible - horns that grow fast and painfully and dangerously rather than cleanly and specifically like on normal Hornsent.
He was also more just saying that the Crucible, being a magical version of the forces of evolution, alters all life on the planet spontaneously. This is an interesting consideration, since it's antithetical to the stasis of Ancient Dragons but also the Golden Order. I like this theory that the Crucible is an indigenous force of the Lands Between, while Order is something more alien.

Bayle went to kill Placidusax and considering his strength up till then there was likely nothing that ever caused him trouble. He was sure of himself that he is going to end the dragon lord, but he met his match and was pushed to his very limits.
At some point after suffering all those injuries, for the first time ever, the thought must have crossed his mind „I might not win. I might actually die here“. And for the first probably ever, he felt fear.
He was not ready to win or die trying.
And so he fled the fight of his life….you could say…….he Bayled.

Yessss!! I knew from the moment I stepped into the Jagged Peak area, that the entire Prehistoric/Dragon lore would be absolutely expanded upon and recontextualised. As soon as I found out that I was correct, I just KNEW that Vaati was going to have to revamp his dragon video that came out only mere months before the DLCs release lol
I realy like the aspect of the dragons' plan showcasing how differently they perceive time. To us humans such a convoluted plan would seem needlessly complicated and prone to failure, making such a wait to see it bear fruit seem unfathomable. But to Placidusax, who is immortal, it feels like only yesterday that he came up with it and put it to the test, such a wait for him and other immortal dragons is rather trivial.

I personally like to think that drakes/mortal dragons have evolved to hunt each other, due to the baby drakes in dragonbarrow not dropping dragon hearts, having smaller horns, and lacking fire breath, they're young and recently born.
Maybe when they reach a certain age they grow the longer, piercing horn to hunt their kin and extract trace amounts of gravel stone, developing fire breath, (and maybe extending their lifespan) possibly leading to them growing and becoming like greyoll and the nameless giant dragon in a final lifecycle stage to produce a litter (greyoll drops 5 hearts, so either its a freak mutation or they have killed)
Additionally the description for dragon communion flesh (which is crafted from sharp gravel stone, which mentions "ancient" dragons that consume their lesser kin) says that it is AN IMITATION OF DRAGONSCALE FLESH, which drops from jagged peak drakes and mentions "aged dragons", maybe ancient/aged really means older, drakes that have hunted more of their kin and thus gained far more gravel stone, one of the jagged peak drakes is even attacking another drake, perhaps in a form of hunting.
So baby drake --> adult with horn --> develop dragon heart & fire breath from killing drakes and getting gravel stone --> kill more --> become big from it and produce a huge amount of baby dragons
Or maybe im reading way too much into the horn on dragons, either way I personally believe that the jagged peak is a cesspool of cannibalism for the drakes to grow strong and mature
My boy Igon screaming during this fight was the best motivation I could ask, what an incredible fight! After dying six times in a row I was still thinking "COMMON MY FRIEND, WE CAN DO IT!!!!!". And, eventually, we did. RIP Igon, I wish you could be there to motivate me through the entire game. lol
My little theory about all the drakes flying outside Farum Azula is they're there as an open show of defiance. That no matter what Placidusax and his dragons do, the drakes will never be fully eradicated. And what better place to display this defiance than on the dragon lords' doorstep?
I always thought that the giant spike in the dragon was one of the "arrows of the old gods" mentioned in the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword. Now that I think about it though, it's certainly still possible but less likely considering the composition of that greatsword is completely different.

I think it's important to note that the game says Placidusax's God *was* fled, not that Placidusax's God fled.
"Fled" typically means that you or someone ran away from something. One definition on Merriam-Webster says it could mean "to pass away swiftly." I'm not sure if there's some sort of translation issue from Japanese to English here, but if you heard "pass away swiftly" I'm sure you'd likely think "died quickly" or "died suddenly." However in this context I think "was fled" is more so meant to be another way of saying "was vanished." Vanishment was forced onto this god. They're not quite dead, didn't exactly leave on their own, but suddenly gone.

Queen Marika and all the following Elden Lords are all human in form, on way or another. so it could be that the cosmic essence of the elden beast tries to mimic whatever is the dominant life form, maybe in an attempt to make it not so alien to its vassals.
33:31 Is a very cool theory, but i think it may be Florisaax's draconic weapon. Ancient dragons are known to have weapons, like the cragblade and granssax spear, so it's not too out of place. The fulgurite still fits as well since they're imbued with ancient dragons' red lightning.

I think the single biggest piece of world building that I want to see filled in is whether the “greater will” is something more than just another outer god. In many ways we see these outer gods referenced in ways that never seem to directly compete with the greater will. It’s also super unclear to me is how wide is the world in which the “lands between” is located. I get confused because there are distant countries referenced plenty but never their geographical relation to the lands between. It almost comes across as a pocket dimension which can be reached/escaped relatively simply by “crossing the fog” presumably by boat. Idk just seems like a weird part of the world information to leave so convoluted. And also the greater will is tied to creation itself in a lot of ways but it’s tough to separate how much of that is true and how much is religious dogma considering the existence of the crucible, unless that was something in itself specific to the lands between. Even the points I’ve already posed create too many questions to bother going further in this comment but idk. This isn’t very cohesive but if anybody has any thoughts to share on whatever part of this comment I’d be grateful.

What if that big stake in the giant dragon's head in 33:17 is a lightning rod? Like, the dragon was so fierce of a foe that no attack could really damage it, so something or someone managed to lodge this big rod in the dragon's head, which then was zapped by a thunder, frying the dragon's head internally. Maybe the thunder was so strong that the dragon's heart exploded out of his chest.
If Placidusax really had the full power of the Elden Ring, it shows Bayle is truly one powerful "lesser dragon". He may be weak when we approach him. But he made sure to show us what REAL dragon power is like. "CURSE YOU BAYLE"
Whatever be the composition of the weapon that took out the giant drake near the communion altar, to me it is not a stake or a harpoon, but what remains of a blade-shaped weapon, as we can clearly see a tang on its tip. It would be quite a blunt weapon as it is, but what about the stone formations? What about them being the remainings of the blade of this weapon after being deteriorated by lightning and time? Would make sense to me.

33:19 that would kinda make sense since copper when oxidized causes green pigmentation, although it's called patina, but yes verdigris can also be produced in a different way by also using copper. And copper can be a very good conductor of electricity. Maybe these large harpoons where made by the communion warriors then imbued with the lightning of the Ancient dragons.

I know you're joking, but apparently people who looked into the code found that Bayle has the highest scaling in the DLC, similar to how Malenia has higher scaling than the Elden Beast. So... By technicality, he is indeed the last boss of the DLC.
His actual difficulty doesn't represent this at all, though.
The idea that Miyazaki just pulled Radahn’s resurrection out of his ass is delusional. Yes, none of us saw it coming and every lore theorist was wrong. But the foreshadowing was there from the beginning, we just missed it. Why did Radahn worship Godfrey instead of his own father, Radagon? Because Godfrey was the original consort when Marika became a God. This was always his fate. To become a consort to the God of a new age regardless of which demigod would emerge as that God. I.e. the new Godfrey. Miq’s hair in phase 2 was a direct aesthetic illusion to Serosh on the back of Godfrey.

I like the idea that the Fingers gave beasts intelligence, since that's what happened in real life as well, when the ancestors of humans developed fingers by climbing trees - probably could explain why trees are godlike entities in elden ring, since trees gave birth to the evolution of fingers, and through fingers, tool use and intelligence developed in humans

Honestly one of my favorite parts of the DLC was how it recontextualizes things from the base game when it comes to dragons; why Dragon Communion is a thing and why we only can collect the hearts of dragons (and Magma Wyrms, people who were Dragon Communion warriors), and even just more of an explanation on Placidusax and how he got so injured in the first place. I can only imagine what he and Bayle were like in their prime before they maimed one another.

The segment of the Dragon's Calorbloom reminded me of a head canon I had about the flowers within the Soul of Cinder boss area. With all the weapons strewn about, surely others had been here before us. The flowers then bloomed from ashes of those who failed to defeat the Soul of Cinder and/or kindle the flame. We fight upon the ashes (the bodies) of those who came before us and failed against the manifestation of those who came before us and succeeded. Ash upon ash against ash...it's no wonder the world seemed so gray.

My personal headcannon that is pretty much just all speculation, is that the Elden Stars incantation actually refers to Metyr and she is in fact the god who fled from Placidusax. What better initial vessel for the Elden Ring than the daughter of the Greater Will, plus I have more so seen the Elden Beast as more of a defense mechanism to protect the Elden Ring, rather than some creature that can act on it's own accord. There is also an attack that Metyr does, where she slams the ground and this tentacle like pattern that looks similar to the bottom of the Elden Ring depicted in Malekith's bossroom appears on the ground and then explodes, similar to how Radagon does those rune slam attacks. Also they are different in color than Metyr's standard attacks.

I’ve always thought of arcane being an inexplicable power. It often has to do with outer gods and statuses. While I don’t know what the Japanese translation says in English arcane can sometimes refer to something being mysterious or unknowable.

I haven't played the dlc yet but from all the lore videos I've seen. My theory is that Bayle was the one betrayed due to him being different, so if Plasidex had a god wouldn't that make the god turn it's back to him? It just seems the dragon lord was the one who caused all the problems then went and turned around to create a witch hunt towards the drakes or any dragon that sided with Bayle.
At 13:33, you mention Eochaid, and it would be very interesting if you made a video based on the lands outside the Lands Between, such as Eochaid, the Badlands, the Land of Reeds, and the land where the Nox came from.
