Hi hilltop! you might not remember me, but i'm the guy you gave advice to about A&A 1914 a few months ago. My game has already arived and i played about 3 games of it already!! I wanted to thank you for the advice and i am forever in your debt.
Also, just a heads up - the out-of-box rule is that the USA enters on turn four, not turn three. e.g. having them enter on turn 4 is not a house rule, its the normal rule.
Love the side by side comparisons. I was curious about that. I heard with the first, there were addendums, Q&As, etc for gaps in the rules- this version was supposed to correct and consolidate them.
I love that the 39 map is still not rolled up! The tiny differences between the old 1914 edition and the new 1914 edition means they care. That means when A&A North Africa comes out it will be a good game! Larry Harris is actually working on it too. I wonder how the game is out of box with the new rules?
The only change I saw was with the Russian Revolution, but nothing seemed to weird... I think Renegade just saw an opportunity to make a ton of cash, and from what I hear, a LOT of people are buying it - even folks like me who have the old one.
@@TheHilltopPillbox well they were going for $400 so they needed to reprint it. I bought one to support them so they make more games but it looks like a I didn’t need it because I still have 1 I never opened! Oops. I have so many games I no longer know what I own.
I'm assuming this is a quite (or decently) new and acquirable rerelease, which is shame cause I don't order a lot from the US for shipping reasons but it's nice to see the game available
Yeah, I'm fortunate to live right next to the border, so I hop across to pick up stuff. Usually free shipping in the Continental U.S., or at least cheap. I saved myself about $55 CAD by taking a quick trip across. Plus, I filled up with gas and saved about $30!
I’m just 14 but love Axis and Allie’s and I would love to play 1914 but there is only 10 left in stock and I don’t exactly make money so I always have to rely on parents to say yes to a relatively expensive board game so I’m gonna try and ask them to get this for me 🙏
Love the video! Inspired me to play the original version that's been sitting on my shelf for ~5 years! I got the Central Powers, my buddy the Allies...and was a bit shocked when he moved Italy to grab Albania on turn 1. I saw in your video Italy's entry requires a die roll for first 4 turns...is that a House Rule? Can't find it anywhere...makes a big difference in AH posture/pursuit first turn or two. Thanks!
Hey so I’ve been wanting to grab one of these for a while, do you know where I can get one? My local stores are t selling them? Is it only online? It seems quite expensive online
@@TheHilltopPillbox ok thanks also an italy buy a major or minor complex in tobruk , even if it doesnt have any ipc value? Thanks for the help im new to 1940 europe👍👍👍👍👍👍

Got mine couple weeks ago. I'm in round four of my first solo game ever. Very fun-, recommended.
Nice! Hopefully, the CP do better in your game!
@@TheHilltopPillbox not so much but thank you for the well wishes.

I am flattered to be part of your A&A journey - and I am glad you are enjoying the game!
I have the same thing arriving July 9. It is my first version and looking forward to learning to play.
It's a good one - enjoy!
My girlfriend and I got 1914 game last week Friday. Playing game. We are having a blast
Lucky guy
Glad to hear!

That is true. I guess I got used to the other way and forgot!
Meant have not seen a lot of gameplay of 1942 2nd edetion yet.

Thank you hilltop.😃😃

Yeah, I will dig a bit deeper when I have time, and I'll do a compare/contrast on them. So far, not much...
This is so funny I also got a copy of 1914
Great minds think alike!

It was $40 to Abbotsford, BC...not sure about other places. When you go to order, it will tell you before you pay. Good luck!
@@TheHilltopPillbox thanks for the response. I ended up just getting pacific 1940 it was only 50$ on Amazon at the moment
Guys just a question in axis and allies 1940 europe , can I use the tac bomber for attacking troops? Or just for bombing naval bases?
Yes you can use it for attacking troops
Yep, it can be used to attack anything - troops, ships, bases, other planes...enjoy!

It is possible. I am pretty slammed, even being summer, but send me a note to hilltoppillbox@gmail.com. If we can get it done, I will try!

Not too often. My time is taken up by many, many other things. If I do, it's usually just solo.
