Agree with the below comments about the folds in the board. I also had the EXACT SAME issue with my Wing Leader Supremacy board (also by GMT). Some gentle bending in the opposite direction got everything nice and flat in no time.

With new games, I either weigh down the boards overnight to get them used to the humidity of the room or I gently fold the board against the bends...which is a quick fix, though I have snapped board pieces with some of the weaker old mounted boards.
This is what I do as well always for all boards - mounted or paper (works even for MBT). I don't like putting glass on the board - it's like having a sex with a rubber:)
you nailed it chief. doing those things takes those "kinks" right out of the boards. Easy peesy. you're also correct that when you bend those "stiff" joints that are causing his map to pop up on the video backwards; you do have to be gentle and a little careful. Do a little bit at a time, set some books on the map over night, etc. I also have found over time as you fold the mounted boards back up to store, unfold them to play, etc. over time they "wear in" if you will and tend to lay flat on their own.
Thoughts on the solo variant? With such a huge range of hidden block strength (0 to 20), what are your thoughts on playing this solo - each player "to the best of your possibilities"?

Just don't overdo it and crack the seams!) Afterwards your map will lay very nearly completely flat-gravity and time and leaning on the mapboard will do the rest.)
more I listen to these gameplay and rules and see how many thing you gota put the map th- I think its too much! now if you want a good game you need to have lots of things! but I think thats too much! I better play it on a computor then in real life! and I think evrybody is going to say "yeah" and no I dont mean the tabletops version with "on a compiuter!"

I have same problems with most of my mounted maps - they never want to lay completely flat (Battles of Westeros are the only exepction).

Block Games are awesome - see also Columbia Games East Front - I can't go back to the cheap looking/clumsy card based board games now.
