I like your Italy rule but if you ever wanted to play a game with Italy in the action at the start I'd recommend using "The Good Captains" Rebalance rule of Italy only starting with 3 infantry and 2 artillery in each Piedmont and Rome when I used it, and it helped the CP not get bogged down in Venice and actually take it and it had the French having to supply the Italians
I really wish I could play 1914, but it’s no longer in print and it’s crazy expensive on resale market, so please make more 1914 vids so I can get some 1914 content! Amazing video as always
Tip I could give if you already have some other axis and allies variants: make your own. Using a printer, some paint and a mix of re-purposing original-variant pieces and simply using pieces from my 1942 2nd-edition, I have the closest thing you can have to 1914 that isn't simply a bought 1914
I've played many a strategy board game by myself, so I understand your situation brother. I've gotten my brother to play with me twice on this game, but that is it. Would love to play a game with you and try out different rules (like technology and events).
How many rushin' jokes were their? 3?) Great to see you making videos again))) I've been playing AA1914 a lot with my friends, and I keep playing CP and keep winning. We've hardly ever had the entente win. But I think it's more connected to my friends not really having experience in this game. I think rails for Germany and Austria is a good enough buff to help them out. The ability to move troops quickly between fronts as they did in the real war.
Also, we decided about invading a colony of a neutral country, the home territory only mobilizes. European countries didn't have strong armies in Africa, So, when the US invades Spanish Africa, Spain mobilizes, while the colony doesn't. I think this way it is more logical, historically accurate and more balancing.
@@danielbogomyagkov9217 Interesting. I think they did the whole mobilization thing just to give people something to do in a few spots on the board that typically would just get run over. I think it would be interesting to play that only the spaces worth 2 or more will mobilize, and the one worth a single IPP would be worth zero to the invader.
@@TheHilltopPillboxthe one I saw was you can move up to 3 armies (any number of units from one territory) from any territory to any other, if they are connected by land that is controlled by you, or an allies country that has the railroad tech open. But I think it should have a limit of something like 10 units per turn can be moved by rail.
@@TheHilltopPillboxalso interesting. And then one more question, shouldn't minor allied countries always revert back to the major power they are allied to? Say like Belgium being freed by the British, but the territory goes to the french. And the same way with the colonies in Africa. Then France gets really powerful.
How about every nation uses tournament rules for movement except Russia? That would restrict their movement without the randomness. Love the 1914 solo vids.
Throwing the Austrians at UN-India was a novel idea, but I think it was ultimately a bad play as it let Russia hang on long enough for the Entente to win the game elsewhere before the Central Powers' income could really even attempt to get going. Of course, Entente winning in 1914 is hardly a surprising result.
Yeah, it wasn't an easy choice, and perhaps I should have put the entire stack into the Russian gamble. It did keep the UK at bay for a single turn, but that wasn't very telling. Thanks for watching and commenting!
The wife and I like doing the Neutral Italy thing. Roll to see if they enter the war. Have you thought about doing What If Games? What if US never joined the war? What if US joined the Central Powers?🤷 Hmmmm? Something to think about about.😊
@@TheHilltopPillbox yes exactly, but turkey joining the allies would mean Italy would definitely join the central powers to get Tunisia+Egypt colonies back again , still leaving the USA entry ambiguous, !!! 👍🍺
And don't forget the British didn't have the capacity to produce metal frm the Indian factory, so Only raw troops a available there , not too hard to understand, 🌴⛵⛵🦤🥂
Italy is interesting. I rather whould do a US slow build up? Russia seems a bit to random. Makes it hard to play Russia for sure... I whould limit it to attacking into CP areas and give them extra recruits whenever it happens (if you fail you get free infantry recruited?).
Free infantry for Russia is interesting... Yeah, I'll keep fidgeting with that Russia thing. I do the USA build that way because it's easier to just do it on one turn, rather than trickle things onto the board each time. A time-saver for solo games!
Love your solos, I always tell myself that I can do it, but is exhausting…
Yep, it is. That one was relatively short, and it still took me about 10 hours of my weekend!
Thanks for being a loyal sub!
Great video

Lets go! I've been waiting for another one of these!
It's the hardest one for me to do, time-wise. But thanks for watching and commenting!

It's back in print. Still not cheap though.
Ya it’s back in print and about 90-100 bucks

I bought a second copy, just in case!
Thinking about getting a second copy myself. Or, wouldn't mind paying $50 or so for a second set of game pieces.

Depends what mood im in. Thanks for this content!

Wow, man love your videos. Keep up the good work 👍
First board game I ever got still one of the best
Yep, it sure is!
I would love another ana 1940 battle report!! Thank you
That's a tough one to do solo, but I'll see what I can do!
OK thank you😊😊😊😊

How does the Rail rule work? Movement anywhere inside home country, or just a move of 2? Can everyone move? Thanks in advance!

Wot about turkey being neutral or joining the entente as they wanted to ,👍
@@BrianMarcus-nz7cs That would pretty much doom the CP, unless the US joined them on Turn 1...but it would make for an interesting game.
