I feel like BOB goes away from a vanilla quality of life as it fundamentally changes the game. So I would be disinclined to say yes to its appearance in the city. Great build egg you will be looked down favourable by the trolley bus gods! 😂
its only a visual change though, and if its only used to change out certain vanilla trees to a different vanilla tree (or none), I dont think it would take away from the vanilla aspect of the game at all. besides some great assets are ruined by the default trees and would look way better with the more recent vanilla tree additions.
Agreed. As a console player, when I heard OE say BOB was being considered, my heart kinda sank. Its one of those mods that I feel has the potential to really stray from the vanilla experience, it doesn't make the vanilla experience more streamlined, which I take QoL to mean.

@@RobertDoornbosF1 which brings up the question of where exactly to draw the line in the case of CS. its not like theres any missiles flying at you so of course the only gameplay options boil down to ; build the city, manage the city, and decorate the city. decorate the city kind of blurs everything when it comes to whether visual and gameplay aspects are different
Knocking the cafeteria back with the path just made that section breathe so much! Great idea! This episode was incredible! I love the parallel train and metro tracks 🎉

The campus feels so much better for those tourist parks, makes it feel more spaced out and human with the ponds! Can’t wait to see the transport hubs alive even more once the trains and metro are up and running. Could you add a tram stop right behind the rail station so people don’t have to walk as far?
I was thinking the same thing about having a tram stop closer to the train station. I'd also like to see a trolley bus stop in front for some great convergence.

love me some high speed rail viaduct, looks so clean. pairs well with the highway viaduct too. it does have a higher speed limit than normal rail tracks, which i think is useable by the bullet train, can't remember if any of the other train models use it
What I love to do with Vanilla CS1 for campuses is use the pedestrian pathways for the campus pathways. Makes a lot of sense with large pedestrian malls going through campuses and gives campuses A LOT of character. You can place the tourist parks on them, as well. I usually have de-connected pedestrian areas named as the intramural fields to have integrated into them.
Campus buildings cannot be placed on pedestrian pathways, but you can use regular roads, place the buildings on that, and then upgrade them to pedestrian pathways. Maintains full functionality with those pathways, as well. Looks really good!
I adore every CS1 city you've created, but I'm seriously loving this one maybe even more then Orchid bay and I love that city. ❤❤❤ thank you for still doing CS1
BOB is a tough one. As a console player myself, I'm personally on the side of the fence that is against. When I see it's use on Thessia, I can feel the sting of not having access to it on CS:R.
BOB is a mod that fundamentally changes the look of some assets, which completely changes how they can be used.
For example, the Basketball/Tennis Courts have 6 big trees around which makes them very difficult to integrate outside of a green space.
Using BOB to remove the trees could make it much easier to integrate into concrete cityscapes, which is essentially unachieveable for players who choose/must play the vanilla experience.
CS1 is so much more uniqe and alive compared to CS2 where everything looks the same.

I like that CS2 isn’t so cartoony, but it really does feel quite monotone at times doesn’t it
Love a good chaotic build! Really nice campus designs here Egg, and I like those rail and metro placements - transport convergence is going to be killer!

Love the Rannoch logo/signs! Awesome contribution to the build.
Love the way you've put the train and the metro line parallel. Also think you've got the right idea planning public transport early. Ideally, alleviating any traffic problems in future. Another thing I like is I've noticed that your residential blocks aren't all uniform to increase density or land value. It's kind of random, and I think that organic look definitely gives it that suburban small town vibe. I like it.👍
I say add in any mods you want, but call the series Lightly Modded, or Vanilla Assets + QOL Mods, or something similar. You're such a talented city builder, I don't want to see your creativity blocked by restrictions of the base game, when mods to make it possible exist.
I feel like bob would remove the vanilla from it , that is something that the vanilla game physically cannot do and therefore isn't quality of life , I love this series though egg love you
Loving your work. It's kept me company whilst recovering from surgery. I'm only a pauper with a console, so I'm grateful for the vanilla builds. Have you ever tried doing what you do, but just with a console? 😂 I'm following along and just about keeping up. My stitches will be dissolved by the time I place every single bush in a line, one by one 😂

I never see city builders incorporating green cities commercial in their builds. I love the assets that come with the green cities pack, and i think a bit around the college campus and transportation stops would just help diversify and elevate the build.

I love the amount of detailing you do in CS1 and as a Console player I thank you for the tips and tricks that you share that we are able to do on the console version of this game. I'm definitely going to uninstall a game to make room to install CS1 again as you have inspired me to play CS1 again.❤
Love an Egg campus build, never fails to look amazing!! Along with the transport mix starting up! Something I came across just yesterday myself though as I was combining small zoned warehouses with nightlife zone (something inspired by you obviously..!) is that there is a policy to remove/lower pollution from industry which i turned on so i could have zoned housing in closer proximity, an issue you came across around 14.5 minutes in :)

BOB is great but, you really can't call this a vanilla build anymore if you add it. Love the series so far. It is shows you can still have plenty of fun and be creative with CS1.
The high speed rail viaduct would probably fit better next to the elavated metro for that stretch of parallel track.

Really enjoying Rannoch still! I don't think I'd mind BOB if it'll keep the series fresh.
Upgrade campuses to level 5 to unlock all the buildings and then trim it down so that all the unique building as well as all campuses can be placed in Rannoch.

Great episode! I think Bob would be too far for me, whilst forest brush and line tool can be achieved in game without them there's no way for vanilla players to achieve the results that Bob provides.
I’d say use BOB but a 1:1. You can’t remove something only replace it. (I.e a tree for a tree, or a fence for a fence.) we all know what the original buildings look like but being able to exchange items to fit the theme could give new vision and the possibility of the creators to create asset variations based on the map ur playing. Go for BOB but use 1:1 EGG 🙏🏽🤙🏽
I'm not sure if you already do this, but you should absolutely but these builds on the workshop every few episodes, like every 5 episodes or something like that

Really hope you do end up including good ol robert to the series. imo its only a visual aspect and doesnt change the game like move it or anarchy would so console players could still follow along with the build because the assets themselves stay the same just with altered props.

Can you change the alignment of the rannoch (near campus) so that people traveling the road can see the sign? All public transit systems are starting to develop organically. Loving it!

Egg... your train station is completely disconnected.
There is absolutely no possibility to get to or from the station via public transport, bike or even foot really. You should upgrade the surrounding roads to at least support cycling and get the trolley bus over there.
after a 3/4 Year, i truly believe, that CS2 is never reach this great CS1. maybe in 5 Years with a lot of updates, addons & ccp's. I love your cities, keep it up ;D

I think the addition of Robert would be lovely, he adds so much more versatility. Im a big fan of adding varsity sports to campuses, especially with some transportation convergence! Having the train run through the campus is a nice touch. OE CS1 vanilla+ is the best stuff out there, keep rocking bro 🤙

Im all in for BOB. I suggested it in a earlier episode w a possible poll on this. Its allows for visual asset management withiut compromising the vanilla mechanics.

Trolley buses are from sunset harbor dlc I think.
So there is a chance the official devs would include them into 2, right?
I think BOB is a necessity in vanilla or games with mods. There are just some things that need to be changed or removed. Not like it makes a huge difference imo. Nice for misplaced bushes etc. Love the Rannoch sign and the build turned out great!! I love campuses especially when you detail them so well. 🤩
Don't trolleybuses and trams serve the same purpose? I don't live in a city with both (or any, for that matter) so I'm wondering if it isn't a bit of a redundancy.
Greenwashing in Rannoch should become a theme, every part have a evil main company that is interwoven with the people in shady ways.
