I have the Saturn issue with the wavy feeling surface as well. Closest to the Strider is the Mercury, thankfully it's a little softer than the strider (which feels a lot closer to a real Hien). Venus is a good choice too, little smoother than the Mercury again but if you want something slower than the Strider, but not a control pad, the Venus is a really good middle ground.

I’m just worried I’ll regret the “downgrade” if there is one. I appreciate any replies
Hien at $94 is kinda nutty >< I think Lethal stock them for around $55 when they're available. Hien is closest to the Mercury if you want a 1:1 replica but I think the Venus is a more interesting alternative, being closer to the Otsu and not already having tons of other clones around. It won't be quite artisan level for sure, but it honestly isn't far off it. Can't really recommend one way or the other as I don't know your full circumstances but the Venus is worth $30 to me absolutely
I just want a balanced, comfortable, quality surface which will provide me atleast a year of consistent glide. I’d appreciate something a little slower than the hien, but faster than my gigantus v2 (which imo has horrible edges). I main valorant and use around 45-55cm/360
I feel you, although a lot of what mousepad works for you is also going to come down to mouse and skates which can be a major factor. Fwiw you don't need to spend a lot to get a pad that works for you, it's just a bit of a pain to fine tune it. Like, no cap the 440x360 control pad from IKEA is legit great and it's like $6 lol 🤣 I've probably spent maybe $1500-2000 so far on pads and could play just as well on the $6 IKEA king 👑

NA Saturn purchaser and user here. 1st Saturn I received also had the unevenness in the base that could be felt with the hand; like a two inch tactile bump or wave. Very odd. Got a 2nd and it has the same issue in different areas of the pad. Very unfortunate as I quite enjoy the surface, just wish there was consistency in QC. I am not motivated to get a 3rd copy which could be a roll of the dice with this issue.
That's mad unfortunate... I've had the same issue with several Xraypad surfaces, it's to do with the bonding process between the base and the weave. It's a shame because it can be really noticeable depending where it is on the pad. Can't say if you get a 3rd it won't have the same issue either, you're absolutely correct.
Do you feel like the LGG Mercury is faster than the HyperX Fury or the Gigantus V2? I want to get the Venus as I like something faster but I want to find something that's also not wayy too fast.
Top notch review, i currently own an Aqua control+ uncoated black and i was wondering if one of those mousepads could be a good upgrade (if there's one). I corrently play Valorant, but i like to play all fps, what can fit me the best? Some told me to go for the saturn but i'm afraid that it has too much control and i end up not liking it
Thank you! The X-RayPad range are some great surfaces, not sure that the LGG pads would be an upgrade in terms of play surface, but the overall build and finish is a little better for sure (stitching, backing etc.) The Mercury will be almost a 1:1 replacement so not sure you'd get much value, the Venus would be fun to explore as whilst it's similar to the AC+, there are some distinctive features and the Otsu style weave is nice to try. Saturn will be a slower, different feel but might be quite decent to have as an alternative to compliment the AC+, especially with games like Valorant and using lighter mice Ultimately depends if you want more of the same or something a bit different to add to the collection! Hope this helps!
I think it's less about upgrading and more about having a high quality alternative in the case of the LGG pads. They're great, but arguably Xraypad aren't much worse (if at all). Artisan pads are probably some of the best around but performance per dollar is kinda low on them, considering you are unlikely to perform noticeably better on a zero Vs a $15-20 quality pad like a QcK or Fnatic Focus 3. The Artisan Zero (Soft) XL is also in stock on their official site currently, which is quite rare. Typically this is seen as the 'default/safest' base option. www.artisan-jp.com/fx-zero-eng.html Hope that helps!
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews thank you very much, quality doesn't really bother me, i was looking ofr an upgrade in terms of "performance" in game, but if you tell me that even the Artisan Zero Soft is not worth, i'm not gonna spend my money on that. Thank you :)
Mousepad has the smallest possible impact on performance imo, others might disagree but I can arguably perform just as well on a $6 IKEA control pad as I do a $99 Xten control, it's mostly just a preference thing.
Is it more comfortable to use ceramics or non ptfe feet on the textured pad such as the venus/ mercury instead of the cloth like saturn? Great review btw
Hi Shadiq, great question and thanks for the kind compliment. I used all PTFE aftermarket skates as well as Lexip & PeePee Boy ceramic skates to test all surfaces before making the review. Ceramics work just fine on amundsen fabric pads (hybrid pads). They are a little faster than they would be on traditional cloth and you can feel a little more texture in your fingers as they pass more vibrations through the mouse, but I had no problem aiming with them on the hybrid pads. Hope this helps!
Hi, would you recommend the Saturn for someone who really likes Hybrid pads who want to try something new? Ever since I started to love mouse pads I've used Hybrid ones (AC+ black, Odin Infinity, Paracontrol). I tried my friend's Odin eclipse and my initial impression was the slow glide was nice and I wanted to try using it long term. Will the Saturn be similar to the controlled feeling of the Eclipse or is it a bit faster? Currently maining the Odin Infinity btw. Will mainly use the pad for Valorant and some Apex on the side. Also thinking if I should just get the Hien and get it over with, but in my country Artisan pads costs $20 more than the Lgg pads. And I'm broke, so yeah every penny counts haha.
Saturn is going to feel slower than any of the lads you listed, it's a true control pad. It's most like the Artisan Zero but it's slower than even that pad too. If you've only used hybrid then this will absolutely be a different experience, but not necessarily a bad one. If you're using ultra lightweight mice, more control on the pad surface can sometimes have a big impact on your flick accuracy. Ultimately it's all down to preference, but if you're interested in a slow/control pad on a budget, the Ikea lanespelare is 100% a recommendation to see how you get on because of the price and value for money.
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate it. It's just that sometimes I feel like hybrid pads are too fast, that's how I realized I wanted to try a control pad. Thank u for recommending the Ikea pad, forgot about that pad because i've been fixated on the Saturn and the price is just a fraction of the Lgg pad. Is the Gigantus v2 also similar to the Saturn?
Gigantus V2 is faster so won't feel exactly the same. It will give you a slower experience than a hybrid though, all depends on the glide you want ultimately.
Bought the Saturn X Nacho Customs Gaming Mousepad - XXL - Mint and dang it is amaing!!! had no uneven weaving amnd it roled out flat from the start. Itt is absolutely amazing! Comiung from a odin infinit stealth (which is just an infinit in 50x50). And it is way smoother. broke some highscores in Aim Lab as soon as it arrived and am consitently about 10% higher in gridshot and more accurate by 5-6%. i sthink its do to the Saturn having a smooth texturte vs the infinit being prettyx rough on the skin of my arm which is not a problem in the beginning but gets really annoying if you do not wear an arm sleave. But im rambling. Saturn absolutely in love with,
You're welcome! Saturn is a little faster than the G-SR but not quite as fast as a Zero. It's a good middle ground between the two and reasonably priced tbh
Honestly I was eyeing the Jupiter but at the same time I ownn GSRSE/GP4/XTEN cloth/ARTISAN Zer. But I feel I will be at risk if I purchased the Jupiter due any of the flaws I might wait till lethal gaming makes a tweaked version of the Jupiter. Also keep it up I enjoy ur channel so much.
LGG have been taking care of people that have QC issues with the Jupiter, but I guess the pad not performing right with the skates you use isn't really a "fault" so not sure if you'd be able to RMA for that either. It's a tough one to call because I've heard some reviewers say it's mad slow, others that it's fast - assume they just used a single mouse (or type of mice) on it and didn't realise that the pad is just inconsistent based on what you use. You're already in a great spot with those pads though, G-SR-SE is a legend, GP4 is underrated and Xten/Zero are the top tier premium options in the control space.
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews I totally agree but I am looking for something slower and premium yet I can’t find any unfortunately I don’t think any company have masters a true slow pad without its being muddy and catch humidity
@@pxe001 If you live near an IKEA the $6 control pad they sell is surprisingly good if you want slow/control (no cap!)... in terms of the more premium pad space, have you tried the GPZ1? It's very slow (a lot slower than the GP4 you have) and I didn't feel any humidity impact when I tested it. Alternatively X-RayPad Equate is another mid tier option that I really got on with too.
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews I do own the ikea one I usually use it as a desk Mat 😂 I’ll give it a shot and the X-ray pad isn’t for me I will for sure check the GPZ1 even tho most reviews just dumps on it for some reasons
@@pxe001 The large Ikea Deskmat isn't the same material or weave as the small square one FYI - I don't like the deskmat but the small square is legitimately a great pad. GPZ1 got a lot of hate because of the RJN association and some misunderstandings about how it can arrive (with creases from the roll). I did a review on it that you might find useful if you want another opinion on it: th-cam.com/video/5GBIxWkpJWA/w-d-xo.html
I'd say the Razer Strider is the best Hien clone, has the same rough/abrasive feel that the Hien does, but I think if you're looking for something different then the Venus will at least offer something more distinctive. Otsu is like a middle ground between hybrid and control and the Venus is the first time I've seen another pad that comes close to the Otsu.
2 of my Saturn copies has the same issue that u mentioned, the uneven bumps on the surface. My 1st copy was soooooo bad, rolled surface, wavy edges/stitching, won’t lay down flat even putting on weights on it, and a lot more bumps, had it replaced, 2nd copy was A LOT better but still had those bumps u mentioned I agree this isn’t really and artisan zero killer, heck wouldn’t even call it a clone or alternative since this legit feels like a traditional cloth pad just a bit faster, it doesn’t capture the zero’s really low static friction, for me the AC+ is still the closest zero alternative
i'm trying to find the good one between saturn and jupiter with a mm300 from corsair as reference i found it perfect to me but their biggest pad is too big lol. It seems saturn is similar but not sure 😕😕
Really top tier content on your channel and I really appreciate that you are active in the comments as well. Maybe you can help me. I am looking for an alternative to the LGG Venus and would like to avoid costly shipping and long wait times from LGG if possible (as I live in the EU). Do you think that the Zowie GTF-X is similar to the Venus in terms of speed and control or do you maybe have another recommendation?
Being in the EU is rough for Otsu clones... Padsmiths First War, LGG Venus are both pretty close but both US so a pain to ship. ZerkGamingMods will be stocking the Venus in the UK shortly, I believe MaxGaming are planning to also for the rest of the EU. The Whale (German TH-camr) is releasing a variant of his Walhaut pads that I believe is also going to be an Otsu weave, but not sure how much help any of that info is atm :( From the alternative options I've tested, I would say neither the first war or Venus are exactly the same as the Otsu so if you're looking for that exact feel then you almost might be better off paying the premium to order from Artisan JP site. Tip if you do is to buy 2x copies and use DHL as the shipping because it's the same price for two. You can then sell the extra locally to offset some of the overall cost of the one you keep. Hopefully this helps!
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews This actually helped a lot. Thank you so much. I will definitely keep an eye out for those retailers and see if they will have any in stock. And I didn't even know that The Whale is planning to release something similar. I didn't expect such a detailed and great answer man, tyty!
Thank you for always supporting! The desk surfaces is a bit of a 'hollywood magic' lol... I grabbed 15-20 pattern wallpaper samples from a local hardware store to use as set dressing and keep the shots interesting. I've also got an old monitor to use as a video wall too 🤣 budget TH-cam tricks, glad it kept things interesting though on what could have been 4 black squares 🙃
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews Clearly the monitor works, i never even noticed it. honestly i cant think of a harder video to make interesting than 4 black squares. props to your props and creativity! also did you see that soon to be released wireless clone of the mm720, titan's the branding i've seen on their mice.
Nice review as always. Very pleasant to watch. Could you please do an xraypad line up. I feel like they get over looked but they're actually great and seem to have improved their build quality. Something like AC II Black compared to the Hien, AC zero with the Artisan zero, AC+ wave edition with the Hayate otsu, traygun with Raiden. Even though Artisan pads have better quality it would be nice to know how the x ray pad ones compare in the terms of performance. I recently bought a AC II Black and it's different from the ones I've seen in online reviews, the logo is much smaller now, like barely noticeable and the stitching also improved like you don't feel it on your mouse feet. I think the only thing a Hien as on it it's the better base but I don't own a Hien so I can't really tell. And those Artisan get pretty expensive 😅. Anyway it would be nice to see an expert comparing them. Thanks for the hard work and keep it up💪! It helps a lot.
Nice video. Which pad do you think would be best for a mix of fast tracking games and tac fps (valorant and apex). I worry the Saturn is too slow for Apex but that Venus is too fast for Valorant. I use a G Pro Superlight. The AC+ is another option
If I love the Artisan Mid Zero but currently have a classic and want something I can use that is very similar until LGG restocks the stitched edges as I am not a big fan of unstitched edges, what mouse pad would you recommend?
I don't like to recommend any products because ultimately I don't know the individuals preference or taste. Saying that, the pad that will be closest to the Mid Zero will be the Saturn, it's using a Zero style weave and feels similar in terms of glide, just a touch slower. Hope this helps!
Hey man, your doing great job! I believe you will have much more followers soon on your chanel. I wanna ask someting to you and everyone, Anyone knows whats the surface called of saturn and venus? I mean for example its polyester and jacquard weaving? If anyone knows, that would be so helpfull to tell to me.
That's really nice of you to say and thanks for the support! The Saturn and Venus both use Polyester, which is typical in most mousepads. I'm not a textile expert but my understanding of Jacquard weave is the it's defined by how it's woven and the loom used, not necessarily the type of fabric used. The Saturn feels much more like a traditional cloth pad whilst the Venus is a little sharper and more crisp as a result of hybrid weave, not because of a different base fabric used.
So what do you guys think? Have you used the LGG Planet Pads? How do you think they compare to Artisan's and do you think that Artisan is even worth the extra money for what you get?

The thing is after the cheapest shipping option and not including 12% tax and import fees it is $60 CAD for 1 venus pad. After fees, probably $73.
Jeez! Canada getting absolutely ruined with these... I heard Agile were planning to stock the Venus/Saturn to reduce the price for you?
Saturn absolutely in love with,
How would you compare the speed friction, and stopping power of the saturn to the zowie gsr, thx for great high quality content.
Would be a nice pad if the logo was much smaller like the artisans and printed on the pad.
Oh and would be nice if the pad was above the stiching.
Both good bits of a feedback tbh - should tag Lethal on twitter with it, they're pretty open to hearing from customers!
best "hien clone"? mercury, infinity? might just have to get the venus, since i always wanted a hayate otsu. another banger, as per usual
My 1st copy was soooooo bad, rolled surface, wavy edges/stitching, won’t lay down flat even putting on weights on it, and a lot more bumps, had it replaced, 2nd copy was A LOT better but still had those bumps u mentioned
I agree this isn’t really and artisan zero killer, heck wouldn’t even call it a clone or alternative since this legit feels like a traditional cloth pad just a bit faster, it doesn’t capture the zero’s really low static friction, for me the AC+ is still the closest zero alternative
i'm trying to find the good one between saturn and jupiter with a mm300 from corsair as reference i found it perfect to me but their biggest pad is too big lol. It seems saturn is similar but not sure 😕😕
Maybe consider the tiger eSports QinSui 2 pro, that's around the speed you're looking for
Really top tier content on your channel and I really appreciate that you are active in the comments as well.
The Whale (German TH-camr) is releasing a variant of his Walhaut pads that I believe is also going to be an Otsu weave, but not sure how much help any of that info is atm :(
From the alternative options I've tested, I would say neither the first war or Venus are exactly the same as the Otsu so if you're looking for that exact feel then you almost might be better off paying the premium to order from Artisan JP site.

@@GoodEnoughTechReviews I really appreciate it! Your are my favorite tech reviewer rn. Looking forward to your videos
@@supaherc Super kind! Next video tomorrow (just finishing the edit now)
Always great to see a new video! The cinematography improves with every video! How did you go about getting so many interesting desk to film on?
I never clicked with the mm720 but a wireless version might be a reason to revisit, thank you!
Great review buddy quality top as usual and very informative but that grexta gotta go haha
Hah! You didn't like the slime green Gretxa? I thought it worked with the colours in the shot =D Appreciate the support as always mate!
Nice video. Which pad do you think would be best for a mix of fast tracking games and tac fps (valorant and apex). I worry the Saturn is too slow for Apex but that Venus is too fast for Valorant. I use a G Pro Superlight. The AC+ is another option
honestly the lgg venus is genuinely nice to use with their glass skates
Venus is a goated pad with whatever tbh, that and the Saturn are easily my top picks from the range
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews what are you leaning towards more?
If I could only use one it'd be the Saturn for more control, Venus is a touch too fast for all games for me personally, but I like slow pads
I’ve QCK Heavy Large size , shall i try venus or satturn? Will it be an upgrade for me ?
I’m playing valorant, my mice is gpx
great video
Thank you!
No anime wife decals CONFIRMED. Lethal gaming gear providing hope for society lol
With the XXX size pad, I frankly expected more...
Hey man, your doing great job! I believe you will have much more followers soon on your chanel.
I wanna ask someting to you and everyone,
Anyone knows whats the surface called of saturn and venus? I mean for example its polyester and jacquard weaving? If anyone knows, that would be so helpfull to tell to me.
That's really nice of you to say and thanks for the support!
The Saturn and Venus both use Polyester, which is typical in most mousepads. I'm not a textile expert but my understanding of Jacquard weave is the it's defined by how it's woven and the loom used, not necessarily the type of fabric used.
The Saturn feels much more like a traditional cloth pad whilst the Venus is a little sharper and more crisp as a result of hybrid weave, not because of a different base fabric used.
@@GoodEnoughTechReviews thank you for your info
