Lethal Gaming Gear Saturn Mouse Pad Review + Artisan Zero Comparison

  • The LGG Saturn is a pad that really impressed me. The surface is an excellent example of a medium-speed control pad and the quality is insanely good for $30. It's hard not to recommend this to anyone.
    I still prefer more textured surfaces so this pad isn't the best for me, personally, but I could pretty easily main this pad with no issues. It's super solid and mostly in line with my preferences.
    Thank you to Lethal for sending me an early copy for review, much appreciated.
    I might tweet sometimes, give me a follow :) KraftyCraftKraf

    Hey, great review! do you know how this would compare to a Fnatic focus 3, or if you have never tried it, just a rough estimate? Re-watching this video months later makes me wonder if the changes to the *New logo* Zero e.g. being smoother is Artisan's way to mimic the highly praised Saturn. Tho, it caught many off-guard since the changes to the Otsu were made open with the knowledge of the buyer, also rebranding it as V2 while the Zero changes were pretty much under the table.

    I ordered this and the venus, i'm new to PC gaming and I haven't found a pad I really love yet. Hated the Game Sense Radar, GP4, and Aqua Control II. Currently switching back and forth between Aqua Control + White and Razer Strider for Valorant and Apex. Problem is I love the speed and my tracking is insane on these pads and it's easy to line up headshots but they don't give as much control as I'd like. But I tried controlled like the GP4, Radar, GSR and the stopping power made for great flicks but my tracking suffered badly.
    I used the Hyper X fury S my first 8 months on mouse and keyboard never gave a thought to my mouse pad and my aim has been inconsistent since I gave it away and been experimenting.
    Hoping either this or the venus end up becoming my end game if not i'm at a lost.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Keep experimenting and you'll find something that'll work out in due time, just be sure to give each pad enough time to properly learn the surface and make sure that you keep yourself and not the pad accountable for your deficiencies in mechanical ability. I think the Saturn could do you well. It's my top recommendation for a balanced control pad and I feel that it could offer you both of what you like about speed and control pads, all in one package. The Venus sounds super cool, too, and I can't wait for mine to ship. If neither of those pads work, I would also recommend you to try out the Zero. It's expensive but still a good value because the quality is unmatched and the performance is still so hard to beat.

    Saturn looking to be an incredible pad! How does it compare to my XTEN Control?

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      The lack of texture on the Saturn makes it feel quite different from the XTen. Its surface feel is far more zero-esque because of this. You get much less feedback and lose some of that responsive feel you get on the XTen, plus it makes the pad feel smoother and more glidy despite having a little more dynamic friction. Where I end up liking the XTen more is that it feels a little more uniform when making small movements. The static friction is pretty similar, but the XTen doesn't have that weird smoothed out feel and quick acceleration that I was talking about on these motions so I feel that I can be more consistent on that pad.

  • @robertofs98

    I would love to get this pad or the Zero but since I’m from europe they’re really hard to get (atm they’re sold out plus I’d be paying twice the price for shipping) so I’m gonna skip them. I have had a qck heavy for the longest time, I only play csgo (to a decently high level) and despite my sens being slightly under average my aim is a bit shaky at times, especially in tense situations. The past few days I’ve been studying my options and I’ve narrowed it down to the Xtrfy GP4, Odin Eclipse and Fnatic Focus 3. They’re all fairly similar according to the reviews I’ve watched/read and have decently high quality for a reasonable price so my question is, which one do you think would suit me best? Thank you for the detailed reviews, your channel is amazing!

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ty for the support!
      I would recommend the Eclipse. It should feel faster than your qck and allow you to correct your aim easier when you don't have that muddiness. I don't think it would immediately with the shakiness because the lower friction will make your inconsistencies translate into cursor movement more. Although, it could help with long-term improvement by forcing you to have better mouse control and work out your inconsistencies manually.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Saturn is the no-brainer recommendation. It's surface is super balanced and the quality is insane for the price. You should have all of the control you need for tac shooters but it'll still avoid feeling slow and allow you to make quick corrections. The Eclipse and PA are still good options, though, just with more specific niches. The Eclipse will feel the slowest of the bunch and have the most friction on all motions. You'll feel super locked in and it'll give your aim a feeling of deliberacy but at the cost of being a little sluggish at times. The PA still feels locked in on small motions but it allows you to breathe a little on larger swipes as it picks up speed.

    Hi which lgg pad would you recommend for a low sensitivity valorant player[saturn/venus]? The aqua control plus white is a bit too slippery for me and I felt like it's harder for micro adjustment and small flicks. I liked the razer gigantus but it's affected by the humidity a lot. Thanks!

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't tried the venus yet, the preorders are still slowly shipping out, but the saturn should feel really good for what you mentioned. It'll have more friction than an ac+ that can help to remove some of that slippery feeling that you are talking about but it lacks the static friction that impedes your ability to make small movements. It seems quite humidity-resistant as well. I feel you can't really go wrong with the saturn, but if you can wait a bit I'll be covering the venus along with the rest of their lineup so you can have a better idea of which would work the best for you personally.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey thanks
      I would certainly recommend this pad for the games you play. It is very versatile and you should be able to adapt to it pretty well. I have not tried the glorious pad but I have experiences with similar surfaces. The saturn should feel significantly faster but still very controled if you put in the time to learn it. It still has some dynamic friction for that'll give you needed stopping power but the static friction is much lower so it won't have that sticky feeling the glorius will get.
      The aqua control two is a good bit faster than the Saturn and will feel like a complete speed pad in comparison to the glorious. It has a textured surface that gives you feedback when you move your mouse so it won't feel completely uncontrollable and slippery. You will have to manually control your mouse instead of relying on your pads friction to aim so the learning curve will be significant. You should go for this pad if you want a complete departure from what you've experienced, are willing to learn something new, and you like how a textured surface sounds.

      This is easily my favorite out of the lgg pads. I would still prefer some more texture but using glass feet and smooth pads recently has helped me appreciate surfaces like these more. The Venus is still very good, just not my general preference so it’s not a favorite of mine. I mostly use very light mice and am looking for an endgame pad, would you recommend any pads if not the Saturn or zero to really try out?

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The zero is higher quality for sure. The actual surfaces are a little different and both are every good, so the choice between them is all personal preference. If you want a surface with slightly higher dynamic friction and a smoother feel, the Saturn will be better for you. The Saturn is my top recommendation for a control pad, but the PA is also pretty solid if you want a slower experience.

  • @joaopimentel7004
    @joaopimentel7004 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    How does it compare to the Odin Eclipse ? As someone that only plays CS:GO and Valorant, which would you recomend ?

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The Eclipse has more friction all around so it'll feel slower overall. Dynamic movements have some more resistance to them on the Eclipse, but the difference in stopping power is not as great as the difference in glide because the Saturn's slight abrasiveness gives it more stopping power than its glide speed would suggest. Where the Eclipse starts to feel much slower than the Saturn is in smaller movements. The Eclipse has much more resistance on inner hand motions and will feel more locked in and stable in comparison to the Saturn. The Eclipse is also much smoother as well and has a better arm feel.
      As for the choice between these two pads for tac shooters, it's not clear cut and depends on what you want out of your pad. The Eclipse's higher resistance on small movements will allow you to feel more locked in so you will be more stable when holding an angle or placing your crosshair on a peek. It will also reduce some jitters that you may have in tense situations and make your transitions between different angles while clearing the map much smoother. In comparison, the Saturn will feel faster and more consistent on small correction movements. It'll be easier to make a quick adjustment when your crosshair placement is off or control recoil. The ability to snap around faster but still get a stable stop on the Saturn will also make entrying a little easier in chaotic situations. I think that both pads are viable options and the choice between the two depends on what your personal preferences are and what type of experience you want out of a pad.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I've used the radar a pretty good amount and it's a pad I've consistently enjoyed. Its a great cloth pad that feels pretty solid and offers you that typical controlled feel, but still picks up some speed on larger motions to help it feel balanced. In this way, it feels a lot like the PA, just with a glide that has slightly less resistance on larger motions and feels a little faster plus less of the stickiness that you sometimes feel on the PA. The Saturn would still be what I'd most recommend because of how balanced it is. It's a great example of a jack of all trades pad that still feels high performance and doesn't sacrifice much to help it feel balanced. However, it doesn't have that standard cloth pad feel of the Radar and it will seem more exotic, so you might like the more familiar feel of Radar's surface. I do still feel that the Saturn would be worth it to get used to and the surface is very high performing.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf

      The Strider will feel much faster than the Saturn and have less friction in every regard. The Strider is more of a speed pad while the Saturn is a balanced control pad.
      It isn't the most water resistant because moisture will sink into the surface so you can't really spill stuff on it, but weather conditions doesn't affect the surface at all and it'll feel very consistent.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf

      The G-SR has far more friction all around and feels much more controlled. Small movements especially will feel a lot quicker and far less locked in on the Saturn. You still feel like you have a lot of control on the Saturn, but it just isn't comparable to something as slow as the G-SR still.

  • @lt3vicente
    @lt3vicente 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have used the GSR-SE for about 3 years, and I need the change because the pad is very bad after such a long time. I tried the gp4 and really couldn't get used to it. My question now is which one to go, Eclipse, Radar or Saturn (I have the Saturn as the last option because it is in pre-sale and it would take a long time to arrive in Chile) and I do not put the Vaxee PA as an option because they do not have shipping to Chile ;(. is this resistant to humidity ? (waterproof?) and is it on the fast end for a control pad?

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It isn't quite waterproof because the weave is loose and water sinks into the surface easily. However, it doesn't actually affect the glide because the threads don't soak the water up and it feels like moisture passes around them instead. It's been cool and dry where I live so it's been hard to test for natural humidity resistance, but I never noticed sweat affecting the surface feel and it always seemed highly consistent.
      It's a little hard to judge the relative speed of a pad like this because of how different people will perceive the surface properties and think if it feels fast or slow overall. The dynamic friction is a hair lower than some of the typical control pads like the Radar, gsr-se/PA, Fury, etc. so it'll feel slightly slower than those pads on larger motions but still quite similar. However, small movements on the Saturn will have less resistance than those types of pads so it may seem like the pad is a good bit faster than most depending on if these small movements are how you personally judge the speed of a pad. If you compare it to a fully controlled mud pad like the gsr or Equate, it'll feel much faster in every regard.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The abrasiveness will add some friction to your arm so it won't glide across as easily as a smoother, weather-resistant pad, but I haven't noticed any stickiness personally. I think you should be fine in that regard.

      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I completely misspoke, good catch. I meant to say that the friction is a little bit higher so it'll feel slightly slower than those pads on large motions. The Saturn is a little weird because the faster you move your mouse on very large motions the more friction you feel due to the slight abrasiveness. On those other pads I mentioned, when you get your mouse moving you feel the resistance lessening and it seems like it speeds up a little bit, the opposite of the Saturn. I would still say that the Saturn feels faster than those control pads overall due to the difference in resistance on small motions being much greater than the slight difference you'll feel on large swipes.

    How do you feel it compares to the Hayate Otsu? Sounds pretty similar.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It does have a little bit of that Otsu feel where it has a quick acceleration into a nice glide that has an easy stop, but the Saturn has so much more friction on all movements that it ends up feeling pretty different to use. The Saturn's glide feels slower and more controlled with greater stopping power due to the higher dynamic friction. The Otsu's lower static friction makes it feel less locked in than the Saturn but it has the ease of micro-adjustments of a fully speed pad. The extra texture on the Otsu also makes its glide feel pretty different and gives you some extra feedback.

    Any plans to review Pulsar mousepad line and also Roccats new Sense series? For a "generic" cloth recommendation , Sense Core set the bar pretty high within it's budget. It's basically a better Gigantus v2 at 12€ for 450x450 square. Pro is basically smooth MPC450 , little less dynamic friction and slicker.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sense line looks kinda cool but I've heard they have some issues with build quality and I'm not that interested in the surfaces. I'll probably try them out eventually, but there are other pads I'm more interested in right now.
      I didn't realize that the pulsar pads were available yet in the US. For a while there the US launch was delayed and I forgot to check back in. They are super cheap so it could be cool to check them out as a budget option.
      Not many people have talked about either pad lineup so I should get to trying them both eventually.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah exactly. It's impossible to move your mouse as quickly on a mid speed pad as it is on glass, that's just how friction works. I notice it's super easy to have pop off runs on the skypad or other speed surfaces where I hit my peak and get new scores. However, my averages are way more consistent on a balanced control surface, so it's much easier to slowly grind out the specific mouse control skills I need to improve and see incremental results. I'll still score better on speedy surfaces, but it's harder to improve.

    How would you compare the saturn to the vaxee PA?

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are somewhat similar in how they perform since they are both balanced control pads but the feeling is quite different.
      The Saturn has a more synthetic feel so it's not as smooth in both how it feels on your arm and how your mouse accelerates. It also has a good bit lower static friction so it doesn't feel as restrictive and does better to assist in micro corrections but it is also less stable. The Saturn's dynamic friction actually feels a hair higher than the PA so it can tend to feel slower and more controlled for larger swipes despite a less restrictive feeling.
      If I could only use one, I would probably go for the Saturn because of how incredibly versatile it is, but I still do prefer the PA because its surface helps me play very consistently which helps set it apart from the pack and give it a more defined place in a pad rotation. Like I said in the video, the Saturn is pretty boring and PA just has a little more character.

    • @basil1596
      @basil1596 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KraftyCraftKraf as always incredibly insightful response. I think I might just have to try Saturn then. For me I live the micro adjustments on the xten but flicks feel a lot better on pa since it had more stopping power. I think Saturn might be that in-between having the static friction of the xten while having a ton of stopping power like the pa.

    LGG Saturn is such a good pad, a few Valorant pros ( actually good players, not the low tier players ) are using the saturn / saturn pro. So should you pay 60-70-80$ for Artisan or you can just pay 30-40$ for a Saturn and get on with it. Your call. I have both, I click my heads with both equally. I would actually do it all over again and go with the Saturn and invest the money elsewhere, like a better mouse or whatever you need at the moment.

      I've never used those pads specifically, but have experience with other similar control pads. The Saturn will feel faster than these pads pretty easily. It'll have less dynamic friction but still retain a great amount of stopping power, albeit still less than a slow cloth pad. The biggest difference will be that the Saturn will feel far less sticky due it having significantly less static friction and lower resistance on smaller motions. It should allow you to breath a little bit more on inner hand motions.

      I like the rougher surface on the xten more and it is my favorite pad, but I still think that the zero is a better overall option. It’s value is great considering how long it lasts, it has a better base, perfect stitched edges, and a smoother, more comfortable surface. It’s the perfect pad really.
