That after...oh man! BTW, mine arrives tomorrow! Edit: system is installed and sounds absolutely SICK! I ran her around the freeway a bit last evening and I can tell you, this short ram really makes a difference! Throttle actually seems smoother and more responsive, and the sound...especially in 3rd and 4th gear is WICKED! My Accord now sounds like a damn muscle car; I could t stop giggling! Install took me about 2 hours. I had trouble getting the vacuum hose off of the factory system, and I had trouble threading that upside down screw. Other than that; super easy! To K&N: thanks for the instructional vid and the great paper instructions. Build quality/fit and finish on this piece is outstanding!
Had one on my 2013 V6, not recommended. It made the car feel gutless under 3500 rpm(aka, loss torque). It got worse in hot weather(it's basically a hot air intake). I yanked it out and sold it to some dude that's crazy about it. It made louder intake noise though. That's it.
I wonder if they tuned the car in addition to the install of this intake system. Or was it literally just installing the intake resulted in 7hp in that particular car.
I have the 2013 Accord EX-L, V6.Coupe. 6 sp Auto. I opted for the V6 and I really love it. Plenty of stock power and torque for me. The V6 really kicks it. 0 to sixty comes really fast and 60 to 100+ is quick as a blink too. This car cruises at 100 mph like most other cars at 55 . Why change anything on the 3.5? It is a super ride all day long just as it is.
Anyone that's had this installed for several months or more how did it affect the fuel mileage? I heard it may help a little. Can anyone give any insight??
How it can suck in cool air. It looks like filter sits inside engine and heated air can easily sucked in. The stock sucks in cool air from front. I have V6 9th gen accord I am confused how come K&N cone filter could suck in cool air. I bought K & N regtangular for stock box thinking it is washable and will still suck in the cool air from front rather the cone one which sits in engine without air duct pointing to front. Please explain the path how this cone could suck the cold air????????????????????????
In the real world, you will lose power in everyday driving with an intake like this. The cone is exposed to hot engine bay air, which gets worse during summer months due to higher ambient and use of a/c (extra hot air blowing out of condenser). The stock air intake is a true cold air filter with a front mount underhood scoop that snorkels to the stock airbox. You totally lose that installing this! Also, that metal tubing is a huge heat sink that gets ridiculously hot and further heats up the already hot engine bay air. Hotter air = worse performance, albeit you WILL get better gas mileage so if you're a hyper miler, get this (and lookup videos of Prius' cars where they do crazy things like hookup hairdryers to get that air blazing hot). If you want high performance, leave the stock box on and just get a k&N drop in filter to continue benefiting from the factory CAI (yes, it really is one). Beware of dynos like this that have the hood propped up with a big ass Hollywood industrial hurricane fan blowing frontal air - lmao, real world ain't like that. Alternatively, you can look for a cold air intake replacement such as the AEM longtube that positions the cone in the lower fenderwell area. Problem still is that these production models all use metal tubing which acts as a massive heatsink, and you also introduce significant risk to hydrolock if driving in fenderwell high water (which can be as little as 6 inches of standing water due to tsunami-wave generation plowing through that makes it rise higher) which can happen often and at a moments notice in the southwest states during monsoon season.
Yeah I had to feel it to believe it, but this heat soak effect is totally true. Doesn't help that this K&N is a short ram intake, and I live in AZ where it is hot and dusty. My car feels like going through molasses when accelerating from stop lights during the summer months, so I have the step on the gas a little bit harder than usual. Embarrassing to see some grandma's old buick get a head start XD. In the cooler months it is better. Also, It is just inconvenient as well since I have to wait for the filter to dry thoroughly from washing and oiling before putting it back in. Even though it sounds good and provides a slight punch when it's cooler outside, it actually is a hassle overall. I'll be swapping back to my stock intake. I mean the engineers did all the R&D to optimize the stock intake to be the best it can be, so like you said it is essentially a CAI, just "enclosed". Just being young and dumb, but eh I only paid $125 after rebate for this a few years ago so it was fun while it lasted.
@hon solo The MAF adjusts on its own. I don’t think you would need a tune to the ECU, unless if you plan on adding other aftermarket parts and making it race car like.
@hon solo I can agree somewhat. Some people just like that sound. If you have a CAI though, you have to worry about hydro locking when driving in the rain. I’d just get one of those hydro shields to put over the filter and you should be good.
We guarantee a horsepower increase with our intakes. For more info, check out the product page: www.knfilters.com/cold-air-intakes/69-6544ts-performance-air-intake-system
Clean your fuel system. New spark plugs. Clean your air filters. Change your oil. Better tires. There are so many reasons your car is not accelerating quickly. Do those fixes first and see if anything changes. I own the same car it's pretty zippy. I do all my own work. I'm at 60,000 on a 13' EX-L . How many miles on your car?
No, all K&N air intake systems are designed to work with factory ECU settings. If you have any other questions, please contact our Product Specialists at 800-858-3333 or tech@knfilters.com.
Quick question, I cant seem to find if this is compatible with 2013 Honda Crosstour.. I do believe it is the the same V6 3.5L "Earth Dream" engine as the coupe and sedan have. Anyone know if this would be compatible with the V6 2013 Honda Crosstour?
Lol notice how they conveniently skipped the step of installing the screw from the mounting bracket to the intake pipe, that was very infuriating to install!
LOL. I believe I saw that the AEM intake increases power by 20 hp? You do know that it is impossible to make that much power with just an intake. The same applies even if the car is tuned.
Check out the following vehicle application list for the current CARB legal status on each individual vehicle. Currently, this part is 50 state street legal to install on a 2013-2014 Honda Accord 3.5L. www.knfilters.com/search/applications.aspx?prod=69-1212TS
The "after" sound is worth every penny.

So how has it been. Is it still good or have you experienced any problems so far. I'm thinking about doing this.
Mohammad Tayyab no issues at all. You can always do an oil analysis if you’re really worried about it
@@PNW_Sportbike_Life how’s it going so far ?
i bought a car with this already installed, it sounds insane
I bet Honda would sell twice as many v6 models if they had a rear wheel drive version of this car
Kyle Rider then it would be like a s2000
Kyle Rider accords are front wheel drive....
George Parker yes that's why I made the comment I bet they would sell a lot more IF honda had a rrd version
At the very least, putting in a manual, SH AWD version of the Accord.
I too bet kyle rider, but already owns one so can't help it 👻
1:11 for before and after sounds

No need for a tune for a simple cai

I wish you make for 2017 accord sport 2.4L
Why won’t fit the accord sport
Is it worth getting an intake for a 4 cylinder this model?

I have injen cold air intake and it helps with the acceleration, i dont know about the short ram intake
Pawel Olszewski does the injen intake make much noise?

This SRI is now legal in CA.

I live in California. Does that mean i can't buy kn intake
Nope. You can still buy it as long as it’s a 57 series Intake.
Do you have to disconnect the negative part of the battery, and If so why?
The reason is because you will be disconnecting electronic components. Safety for you and your car.
for everyone, the 57 series are California legal
does it have to be a 3.5l engine? can it fit or work in a 2.0l or a 2.4l?
Buy a cold air intake don buy the short ram intake cus you get more with a drop in kn filter then the short ram
Hola que pasaria con la potencia con un motor caliente y con el capot cerrado ¿? Cuanto seria la pérdida ¿
this engine has been on the accord since 1999 gotdamnnn
Are u dumb? Theyve changed it 4 times since then
Do you have a k&n cold air intake for 2012 v6 Honda Crosstour legal in California?
What is the install time? I have an aFe throttle body spacer as well, do I need to modify the CAI in any way to fit?
+Surface The intake is not designed to work with a throttle body spacer
Why not? I have both on my car, works good so far
if its illegal to use in cali why they sell it in all auto parts stores
Because EVERYTHING is illegal in California.
Will this work on a '16 Accord V6 Touring?
It's a 3.5 v6 so I think they will have a part
Yes
@@romandopayan1112 I ended up keeping the factory filter box🤷
I put a k&n short ram intake on and i took it off the same wxact day. Ithink the stock intake that goes down the front and out the bottom is better.
is it illegal in cali
Yes. They said so in the video
Is this legal in California? Has it been approved yet?
It's not and probably never will be but they'll never know
Hi does this fit the 2014 Accord Coupe 2.4 engine?
No it doesn't this part number is only for the 3.5L engines. here's the part number for the 2.4L 69-1213TS
I have the 2.4L L4 ....will this work lol my car accelerates super slow ! Wish I got the V6 !

will this work for 2015 accord v6?
ttolmbrftttwtbopat Currently we only offer an air filter for the 2015 Accord: @knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=33-2499
thank you for answering
Yes this will fit the 2015 Accord without any modifications.
+KNfilters Wouldn't this intake work for the 2015 model? I would think that the 2015 model would be mechanically identical to the 2014 and '13 models
I've answered the question for you....
This filter media will also work for 2016 Accords.
So I can't use this in cali?
halo0001master Not until it is CARB Exempte by the State of CA.
halo0001master yeah it sucks to live in Cali with all of these restrictions.
KNfilters You still Ship to California right?
Karina Garcia yes they can cutie
halo0001master carb exempt!!!!
What about 2008 v6 3.5
Please head to www.knfilters.com to search for products for your vehicle.
Are torque specs provided? I didn't see a torque wrench used once. Noobs.
I thought k&n was carb legal in Cali
newer cars are still pending
Carb legal??
This system will pass emissions for the 2013-2014 Honda Accord 3.5L

Lol notice how they conveniently skipped the step of installing the screw from the mounting bracket to the intake pipe, that was very infuriating to install!
I just clamped them together because the bracket didn't line up with the intake piping. Seems to work fine.
aem intake provides way better performance gains and for less
LOL. I believe I saw that the AEM intake increases power by 20 hp? You do know that it is impossible to make that much power with just an intake. The same applies even if the car is tuned.
True, with intake tune and exhaust I saw 15 hp. Nobody will get 20 hp that way.
Plus it doesn’t do much just more noise
I just installed this and then raced a corvette and won, his girl was so pissed she got into my car and flipped off her boyfriend.
I'm the 1k like lol
Haaaaa not carb legal
